  1. I have an unbelievably charmed life where I never get force fed pnoles tweets while on twitter but for whatever reason I have to see them all the time on soxtalk.
  2. I've talked about this a few times. This rotation is difficult right now. Cashner is not good, he's not terrible, he's that right kinda bad. He's that "what Ivan Nova should have been" kinda bad. He's owed money, he has a vesting option he will not get based on last years work load, and so he should come cheap. And if he does not come cheap than you don't trade for him. Also, this is a great opportunity to mention the James Shields trade. Everyone will be extremely proud of your reference to that trade, and how you are still upset about Tatis, so please do that. Nobody is tired of it. Anyway prove me wrong.

It seems the innovators just have invested more in pushing the analytics teams from just focusing on acquisitions and scouting what's there to identifying good candidates for changing. Now the book does mention the sox positively for investing in 3 hitting coaches, including Matt Lisle. Hopefully he is serving as a conduit who can relay analysis from the rapisodo and edgartronic to the players. But who knows.
  4. Yeah it sucks filtering for catchers because the plate appearances. So...the rays I guess.

    Who else?

Most anyone of note from last year is no longer on DSL so likely in AZ. Getz appears to prefer to move these guys stateside earlier, maybe to start the assimilation process earlier. They have put some resources down there as cultural coordinators so I'm guessing that is. Touching 89 at 16 years old is good on paper.
  7. OK so feasible teams going after catcher Rays Twins Nats if they go on a run Dodgers I'm not sold Dodgers would give up on Barnes/Martin. I'm not convinced sox would trade with twins. That's a pretty limited market.
  8. Well when I read your statement I think "Giolito's numbers going down slightly for half a year may be worth getting a good package back", and that's different than risking Giolitos development. Plus they could just go hard for Grandal in offseason.
  9. One issue is I can't really think of a contender that would want a catcher. If we think of one I could put together a package I'd want. Not a fan of the "top 100 prospect" template because there are many in backend of top 50 I'd want less than some of the guys in the 8-15 range of a team list.
  10. Yes I'm sure he does compliment his teammate.
  11. Now, I wouldn't expect that. Avila had a fantastic year with the tigers, albeit was older and with no more control, but brought back very little from the cubs.
  12. Lopez has mostly been caught by castillo. And I have a hard time assigning Giolito's resurgence and velocity to mccann. As someone else said, if someone is going to pay you as if Mccann is a top 5 catcher on a 2.5 mill deal, you listen.
  13. The right trade could appear to set you back, but actually vault you forward.

So Ronaldo Guzman, the 16 year old that had a favorable writeup from Ben Badler for having an athletic, easy delivery and was already touching 89, has had a great start in DSL: 4IP, 5 hits, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 Ks for today, and for season 8 IP, 10ks, 3 BBs, 1 ER, 1.13 WHIP. Looks like this may be the pitcher to watch in DSL.
  15. Yeah I was excited for this. For as much money as the athletic has you'd think they'd spring for mic's for their podcasts.
  16. Said it before but I would still acquire andrew cashner to provide some starter relief. He should not require sending much out. He's not good, but he may perform better against the AL central teams vs. AL east, and is still averaging 5.33 innings per start. It's like what Ivan Nova was supposed to be.
  17. And the running assumption with Thompson is slot should be all he needs?
  18. Yeah nothing on Trenkles Twitter has made it seem like he’s going anywhere but OSU. Krogman seems gettable, and hopefully Glass
  19. People counting out warriors down only six as if they aren’t one of the great score in bunches team of all time. (go raptors)
  20. OP updated. seems like to date we are over $335k from the rounds 11-40 at this point, while under 670k at this point from senior signs that we know of (though futuresox indicates we are looking at 10k signings for the other 3 senior picks so I imagine this will grow by whatever additional slot there is -30k).
  21. Acosta being more than Torres I find kinda interesting.
  22. That’s all.
