  1. I mean, at least they serve (mm) as useful reminders of it not really getting better next year.
  2. With that much competition I bet they get back something decent.
  3. Definitely, I just think people in retrospect think he was this huge bust. He disappointed, but still seemed like he was always at verge of putting it together then his heart issues popped up. He'd be a horrible nba player today but at time he was useful.
  4. That wasn't near as bad as I expected from the takeaways people had.
  5. Cespedes signed a one year deal, he did what he was supposed to that year, it would have been fine. But yes, ideally we don't have to be a team that relies on signing a 30+ year old outfielder to hopefully get a wildcard like that white sox team.
  6. What I like about basabe, and i do think his greatest likelihood is 4th outfielder, but he also feels like a prospect that can blow doors off his projection at any point. He does have power, what if he hits enough to make that plus plus? He does walk alot, what if he gets so selective it forces more strikes to play up his power? His hit tool could hold him back, but he seems like a really smart player that is going to get most out of his tools.
  7. Dejong and carp ss/2b, heck of an infield.
  8. Ok but we thought many of those teams were resetting specifically for this offseason, but many were still too scared to be in a position where it would be too difficult to re-set again.
  9. But when does this offseason exist? Didn't exist last year. Didn't exist year before that.
  10. Definitely, and that hasn't scared JR before. I still think the albert belle contract was good personally.
  11. Here's some info from Fegan on the guy https://theathletic.com/772714/2019/01/17/dominican-republic-visit-gives-white-sox-prospects-a-chance-to-see-the-game-from-the-other-side/
  12. i'm gonna split this out since things are kinda slow. Good find.
  13. Sure, but the investment in the stadium, surrounding area and team wasn't charity. It's not a hardship.
  14. Not gonna lie, if I was a cubs fan i'd be pissed about them crying poor to a fanbase that does nothing but support the team with dollars, when they are billionaires, and when the team is in the middle of a competitive window.
  15. So with nightingale building case that the sox offer is low but also there are no other teams interested I do basically feel like that's the white sox org narrative.
  16. Poor ricketts, if the city just paid for the investment for their wrigleyville kingdom, they could pump that money back into the payroll where it could be taxed and redistributed into a major organizations investment fund. Isn't that a better use of your money, chicago?
  17. Yep! Though with fulmer you get the sense that he was throwing 4 seam maybe because it was only one he thought he could command.
  18. https://theathletic.com/756814/2019/01/14/sarris-pitchers-who-could-have-a-breakout-season-in-2019-by-making-one-small-adjustment/ Really interesting about how they should dial back 4 seam usage and focusing on other pitches.
  19. anxiously awaiting this bruce report for the lolz. Please count the amount of times he complains about millenials.
  20. I have this concern too. While I totally believe sox knocked down the years of deal thing yesterday, I don't think sox ever want exact terms of what they are working on leaked. But it could definitely be seen that way.
  21. Right, this is one part of it though. it is quite obvious the 7 years thing came from the white sox front office as every single chicago sports writer and national writer wrote it.
  22. Hoping Machado doesn't end up on the today show to talk about how he was abused by media sources in dealing with the white sox.
