  1. Man that Rosenthal article was excellent and this was a bit that makes sense to me too:
  2. The sox are so damn good about this, I do not expect anything specific. I don't expect much more than "had a good visit"

    2018 catch-all

So fun news is we are expecting our next child on Wed. Other fun news is we were able to renovate our house but we didn't finish in time for the baby. So challenges aside of living with my wife's parents, I also cut out interior painting because the bid seemed so high. Now I realize it's because with new rooms you have so much more prep with filling nail holes, sanding, etc. Taking forever but it will be worth is soon as we plan to live there a long time and I'm not sure that would be possible for quite a while with two kids.
  4. Yeah, these guys mentioned. Those are just the best white sox players though. Favorite player was probably Jose Valentin. He was a part of so many huge moments from 2000-2003. He was so much fun too. Remember when the sox made a living out of acquiring players in their 30s and somehow getting career years out of them? Man that seems impossible now.
  5. Also Heyman has been getting really good and precise info this year. Props to him.
  6. So the thing that will be so nervewrecking and I've posted it before is the dodgers and yanks appear to be in a position where they will let white sox/phils set the market for them, and then their agents will come back to them, and if they just match it they probably win. They don't have to be aggressive despite having the most resources and that's really annoying for the game.
  7. The value I used to place in this stuff died with Jimmy Rollins.
  8. peavy please try to use the quote feature (see the quote text under each post) that you are responding to, and try to pull in all of your thoughts into a post instead of ten in a row. It's really hard to follow any thread when you separate everything.
  9. It really depends on how short term the thinking is on "the right direction". With Dunn, Portis and Lauri back he has improved the Bulls win percentage up to .333. To do so, he has developed the most antiquated offense in the league that will stunt the development of it's developing star PF and offense of its promising star C. It plays into all of the worst tendencies of it's PG and SG. It is a style that no top 30 player short of demar derozan would want to play in. And it may eke out just enough victories to pull bulls into the 6-8 range of draft. The Bulls clownshow front office culture has ensured no big FA signings will occur, and may also ensure a worse chance at getting a big time, franchise changing draft pick.
  10. Sorry, I did not stop to think what end of GM tenure meant. That makes sense.
  11. I still think the Pads trade for him.
  12. My predictions: - Bryce Harper will get a record setting contract - Manny Machado will not Both will get more AAV than Stanton however. I am not even quite sure that Machado will clear 300. I'd put it at like 50/50. If this ages poorly please delete forum.
  13. But having his brother in law is equivalent to 75 and sunny so we are doing good.
  14. That is the worst name for an American I’ve ever seen.
  15. I’m not selling Bears short that is just a uniquely good home field. If it was neutral field I’d still take bears.
  16. The Bears won brought the high school emotions out of me. At the gym this morning I was getting irrationally angry at ESPN for showing like a 15 minute highlight package of pats/Steelers instead of leading with bears packers. More like eagles Steelers Pats network amirite
  17. I don’t think any team will be able to beat the saints in the dome unfortunately. They have a great path to a Super Bowl with HFA this year
  18. I don’t trust anyone that has a rational opinion in the first 8 hours after a 20 point meltdown.
  19. Man this felt better than I could have anticipated.
  20. I mean, it would be pretty disrespectful to say “yeah Alonso is really just here to entice his brother in law”, so I’m not really expecting Hahn to slight Alonso by doing that and then meeting with manny.
  21. The time frame for that seems so optimistic. I have a hard time believing he’ll only miss a week when he’s in a walking boot.
  22. Are we sure Alonso isn’t the runner up to the Nelson Cruz rumors?
  23. I really don’t think either will hit the 40/year threshold.
  24. You aren’t going to win the argument that it will be difficult to limit a DH only (for us) player to 500 ABs. He signed the contract. He knows what’s up.
