  1. Interesting. Soxtalk loves moving outfielders to 1b.
  2. Such a good deal. I love Carrasco. Not consistently great, but always feels like someone who could get especially hot at the right time.
  3. If it wasn't clear, that's a total joke. Just trying to get these hot harper leads.
  4. Cespedes would have been pretty good to have in 2016. Team wouldn’t be in rebuild I bet.
  5. I will not guarantee harper will not sign. But I don't know that any owner can ignore luxury tax anymore. Signing harper when there will be a need to sign bryant/baez/hendricks soon would mean it's very difficult to get under at any point soon.
  6. I think the most overblown tendency on soxtalk is to prematurely move every player that doesn't get a glowing defensive report to first base.
  7. I don't believe there was any justification of the tariffs as a revenue raising technique, it was about shoring up manufacturing and decrease trade deficit. Deficit has increased, manufacturing appeared to be doing fine on its own. It may shore up specific, very specific groups, and cost many more others. There are some protections vs China worth having but to me its clear TPP was a better strategy to just ensure non china markets were as westernized as possible.
  8. I think cubs are going to sell a short term deal and see how far it gets them.
  9. Ultimately Boston has won a world series so they are better at this, but because they are in win now mode I like Eovaldi less. On other hand, perhaps they can ease him into season to make sure he's ready to go again in playoffs.
  10. Just FYI when you paste in the link a pop up will appear to make the link text only, if you click that the embed will work. I find it weird how, to this point rumored, dogmatic yanks have been over years in the contract.
  11. That sound you are hearing is 1,000,000 soxtalk trades for carson kelly screaming bloody deaths
  12. Yeah, never said Hoiberg was brilliant. But you see bulls deficiencies and blame it all on the coach, and I can't help but notice the players. So yeah, tell WCJ to shoot 40 times per game. Tie Holiday's hands behind his back. Have them do wind sprints. The team will get better as it returns a non-stupid point guard, additional guard depth and forward depth. And then we will say "wow, this team is playing so much better!"
  13. Yeah they started playing Cam Payne more which you also said was a fireable offense. Heads I win, tails you lose. Holiday shoots nearly 40% from 3. That's a good shot for him. Telling him to shoot more twos, which he shoots at 46%, is a bad idea.
  14. The pitcher that I think people's concerns over are valid, but actually think everyone is wrong and will pitch well over his next contract is Dallas Keuchel.
  15. I was only commenting on it being a good idea for a new bulls coach to cut Brown loose. Would never let anyone recommended by Bulls FO on my staff.
  16. While Hoiberg could do more to change up the offense, I just cannot agree with you that this is a function of Hoiberg failing. Justin Holliday is the starting 3 on the Chicago bulls. Antonio Blakeney is the backup 2 on the Chicago bulls. Shooting the ball and hogging the ball is what those players are. They have to play because of bodies. That is a John Paxson/ Gar Forman issue. He could have built a team that accentuated the strengths on defense and offense of Lavine and Lauri (and WCJ), he instead tried to find "value" in the 3 point shooting of the deeply flawed Holliday and scoring of blakeney at the direct expense of the team.
