  1. ? I mean, we have all seen the rams this year. Their qb play is good. Is the takeaway really the Goff played bad and not that the bears defense is good after a game like that? Their offense averages like 35 points! It's week 14! This isn't a blip.
  2. It's incredible but also a testament to the pass rush. Turns out the strength of this secondary is their intelligence and study. They are diagnosing plays early and able to jump the routes because the ball is coming (has to come) after first read. Last year they'd have to cover and they are less of a downfield jump ball unit.
  3. If we had drafted both of them and re-signed both of them, I would be pretty happy. It does make creating a pitching staff a bit more difficult.
  4. Rosenthal scuttlebutt: https://theathletic.com/705014/2018/12/10/rosenthal-angels-more-active-than-anticipated-harper-to-st-louis-unlikely-reds-want-to-move-scooter-more-notes/ Angels in hunt for starting pitching, failed to get eovaldi or corbin. Thinks they go after Kikuchi, happ, etc Harper to cards looks unlikely, more likely a bp piece Reds likely to move scooter to make room for senzel. Which is a good move instead of moving senzel because he's "blocked" The marlins are asking for moon for Realmuto Indians looking to pair highly paid position players with pitcher to get more payroll Lotta people in on lotsa bullpen.
  5. Pads in on Realmuto this is your scuttlebutt thread for rumors. Breaking news gets separate threads.
  6. That was some kind of dominance from the d. They took that game and never let up. The d line was geared up every play.
  7. https://theathletic.com/704226/2018/12/09/jim-boylen-bulls-players-meeting/ must read article. Will sample tomorrow. Brutal.
  8. So a big reason why you play to win last week, we’ve lost like half the team to injuries so far.
  9. I mean, it’s the Rockies. They may move him to catcher.
  10. I’m definitely the high man on Keuchel. It is very risky but I think he could also end up being a 14 year vet pitcher.
  11. Seems like he has his bases covered there. I enjoy how that is like the entire NL.
  12. As time goes on and seeing what Correa got/Braves...Preller got off so easy.
  13. All doctor resumes are impressive, but looks like a good hire and experienced.
  14. Collins will not hit 120 walks unless his contact improves enough to make his power play, causing pitchers to challenge him less a la Harper (Even if his eye is somehow better). Anyway high end numbers always unlikely. Would settle for 5 hitters with 60+.
  15. Perfect. That would be an easily tradable contract when an internal replacement comes up (or he become a more expensive leury), while also allowing for possibility of great return if he repeats 2017. Would really depend on CF.
  16. I don't really think it's that big of a deal. It would be more ideal if he played CF. Tying up money into him isn't a concern. He'll be pretty easy to trade. People will overestimate his contract.
  17. I don't think illini are nearly as bad as record. Kenpom has them about right. The big ten starting conference games so early makes it harder on a younger team. But, obviously a tough start to still make tourney from.
  18. I think that number will end up being wayyyy off.
  19. This is nuts. I’d take that deal easily. You are in trouble when you need talent back for a player that is already expensive. You could take that trade, send out Heyward for nothing but some cost because Sox don’t care about appearances of salary dumps, Spin out Happ for prospects, and then have acquired Contreras for essentially money plus prospects/better fits for Happ. Cubs need to trade out that talent because they need that full cash back. Sox don’t. They can unwind it and swallow the bad Heyward contract/trade. There are many possibilities at any point. Acquiring or signing a player for 4 years $100 million doesn’t mean the only scenario is for the next four years you must start that player and pay them that amount. There are many possibilities at any point, things are not in a time sealed vacuum.
  20. Hey, Dr. Dre nearly spoiled his billion dollar deal with Apple by making a 3 am facebook video with tyrese claiming he's hip hops first billionaire.
  21. I think Hahn said the right stuff today. But that's typical. Hopefully he acts on it.
