  1. Dude was good at the baseball I guess.
  2. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 09:57 PM) We aren't there yet. This is a great start, and all indications is this is just the first domino to fall. BUT........lets see what else happens. If Sale is the only major piece moved this winter, the direction will still be muddy. Yup. Agreed with all of this.
  3. Our Sox might have just liked Moncada more, doesn't mean the bosox liked Beni more.
  4. QUOTE (Special K @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) I just worry that we just traded a legit Hall of Famer in his prime on a bargain contract for two unproven prospects and didn't get one proven player in return. Love Moncandas ceiling and if he pans out as a superstar or even very good player, then the deal was probably worth it. But if he flops, we got hosed. That's my thought. To have a hall of famer in their prime on your team is a very rare thing... What's to worry about though? We've proven we're not winning with Chris.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 08:54 PM) Fangraphs had it right last summer Didn't see this posted here. Damn. Nailed it.
  6. Super happy we're going this direction.
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 06:39 PM) WHITE SOX BASEBALL GET INTO IT Hahn should get props just for somehow convincing Jerry this was the right thing to do.
  8. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:40 PM) I am much more interested to check in the progress of 4-5 "kids" every day than see if Avi made any errors and how many times Frazier struck out. Right. I don't get how the last few years could have been interesting to anyone.
  9. Happy they went the trade Sale route and obviously pumped we got Moncada. Would be lying if I said I didn't wish the secondary pieces were more but I'm not going to b**** about this.
  10. And in Lip's defense, he can keep saying it until the Sox prove him wrong.
  11. With the strides Anderson has made every year at short, I wouldn't even think about about moving him around.
  12. The Beltran deal isn't going to stop them from going after EE. EDIT: I should say it doesn't completely take them out of the running for EE, who knows if they'll go after him or not now.
  13. QUOTE (daggins @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 05:49 PM) People like to rag on Avi because he's terrible at baseball, but what they forget is that the White Sox are also terrible at baseball. Lol. Well done.
  14. It's 3 mill and he's not going to be blocking anyone so who the hell cares. That said, I'm tired of the dude and would rather watch almost any other person on earth play baseball than this bad baseball player but whatever.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) Probably not. But it should. 5 years $38 million for a guy who even if you don't think will put up a 6.0 WAR ever again, has averaged 4.3 WAR his first 3 years in the American League. Jerry Krause's press conference when he traded Elton Brand for Tyson Chandler always comes to mind when people are so giddy to get rid of players for really no reason other than making a change. Krause said Chandler had the potential to be a 20 point 10 rebound guy. Great. Elton Brand was a 20 point 10 rebound guy. Chandler never averaged 10 points or 10 rebounds for the Bulls. He has had a decent career, but the trade didn't make the Bulls better. Why trade Eaton unless something has to really go wrong for you not to be better because of it? That sort of guarantee is rarely available in baseball. You're talking a 1 for 1 deal(and Brian Skinner I guess) in the Brand for Chandler trade, nobody here is trying to trade Adam Eaton for one prospect.
  16. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 11:15 AM) Also, I realize "sleeper'' wasn't the best word to describe #Whitesox. But until they trade Sale, the rebuild is all just speculation. https://t.co/Dj6c3u1PNh https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/804731438251868165 My point was, Rick Hahn has a chance to make the meetings hop. If Sale goes, the dominos could fall quickly with other #Whitesox players. https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/804731589330608128 And that is completely fair.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 09:59 AM) Yes I'm sure they are really "sleeping" on people, nobody has known they are shopping Sale I laughed when I saw that as well.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) I'll concede that Adam may be a fine teammate, but it's clear he's in the Chris Sale mode of being completely okay with taking internal strife with management public. Granted - players are probably right about Kenny, but the circus they routinely invite of airing the laundry publicily is something I'm not opposed to leaving behind. This is a fair point.
  19. I'm not necessarily worried about his skill set eroding(though I do worry a bit about him killing himself running into a wall or something) and I agree that the clubhouse s*** is mostly bs but I'm just open to trade anyone especially when there's a possibility said player is at their peak value. I'm certainly not saying to go out and trade him for anything but we should be open to the idea of trading him if it brings us a nice package of players back.
  20. Or his value is at an all time high and might net you more than a few good prospects back. I'm fine with keeping Adam but if you get blown away by someone then go ahead and move him.
  21. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) Uhhhh yeah. They basically own the entire Southeast. After the obvious teams (Dodgers, Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals, Giants, Cubs), they're right there in terms of fans. No, I'm not talking about precious attendance either. I'm talking about viewership. And not that it counts but go anywhere from Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, Florida, the Carolinas - you'll see a lot of Braves gear. But you were talking about attendance.
  22. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 06:35 PM) To flip for prospects midseason or try to merely be a .500 team? I know they're opening a new stadium in 2017 but I don't quite understand at this point. They have one of the bigger fanbases in the game so it's not like they'll need to worry about fans showing up once they're legit again. They do?
  23. Gronk was kind of the ultimate in busts this season. 3 games where he was basically a decoy and/or got injured during and that's not counting the time he just flat out missed. Those fake 3 games he "played" in though could cost me in a couple of leagues.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 11:44 AM) Regardless of the different leagues, you can't convince me that best record is not the single best determinant. Agreed.
  25. QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 05:38 PM) 0 for 0? No losses!
