  1. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) Grow the Morrison stache. Well I had the full out facial hair thing going during the postseason due to superstition, you guys can ask willie how nuts I looked.
  2. Why the hell was that game not on tv?
  3. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) LOL, me and Milkman Delivers were trying to figure out if anyone on this site is much of a wrestling fan. Seems I found out without having to ask directly, Wrestling used to be for me what the sox are now, it literally used to be my life and Michaels was my favorite in the business until Austin came around. I don't remember what turned me off of it completely but I'm thinking the death of wcw had something to do with it.
  4. Ha, look what you started brian. And yes I need a haircut but I'm probably not going to get one just cause it annoys others.
  5. For all you big 10 fans who want to watch real basketball turn on espnu
  6. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) And where would Kansas be right now without Kareem Rush? Brandon.
  7. I know a lot of you guys won't care because of the Illinois game but I'm pretty pissed that the pitt-uconn game is not on tv tonight.
  8. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) AJ Walkoff = best game of the season. IMO the rally crede game was the best just because of when it came.
  9. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) I wouldn't even count on the NIT. TTU has been horrendous this year trying to break in 7 freshmen. Next year they should challenge for the Big 12, but this year, just yuck. I thought Jackson and Zeno alone would atleast be enough to be decent this year but yeesh...they've been horrendous.
  10. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) FSN didn't have much either and we never got stuff like this from them. Is that still a station? Honestly, what is their point in the chicago market now a days, I don't see how anyone could watch that station at all anymore.
  11. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) One AB doesn't make up for most of his suckitude off the bench. Way to miss the point entirely.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) Plus, you gotta have those hotel rooms. You know, for those, games... You are way to little to be posting in this thread.
  13. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) Why not eliminate the hotels, cut out their take, and have it at the ball park? There are large meeting rooms, the patio, bullpen bar and the big restaurant in right field. The team could cash in on parking, food, and invite souvenier vendors in to sell and charge them too. It can be done.-They could sell more tickets too. It's kind of in the middle of winter.
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) The Twins will finish ahead of the Indians. ^
  15. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 04:53 PM) On a similar topic, does anyone know what Nate Funk's status is for Creighton? He hasn't played in a while, and I have a hard time getting college basketball injury info outside of the original press release. He's out for the season.
  16. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) Forgot about Creighton. Let me rephrase it a bit: when was the last time that a mid-major with more than 3 losses got a 6 seed or better (yes, I'm assuming that UNI loses at least one more)? I'm pretty sure that all of the higher-seeded mid-majors that we mentioned finished with ridiculous records and finished with 1 or fewer loses in conference. Again, I know the MVC is much stronger than your typical mid-major, I just don't think they'll get quite that much credit, since mid-majors have gotten the screw-job in the past. I get the feeling about the best they'll get is a #6 seed against another fairly good mid-major like Western Kentucky or San Diego State. UNI should definitely lose another game or two in conference considering they play at creighton tomorrow and come to carbondale the last game of the season. I understand what you're saying zoom about how mid majors have got the shaft before, the difference is imo that uni is a top 15 rpi team right now. The mid majors have been shafted before because their rpi sucks and they had no good wins. UNI has wins against Iowa, and at LSU not to mention the conference wins at Wichita State and against SIU. That's 4 wins against the rpi 25 right there, they got a pretty damn good resume despite the mid major status.
  17. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) 1) He seems to overrate mid-majors. Gonzaga and St. Joes are the only non-power conference teams I can remember seeing above the 7-10 range, which seems to be where a lot of the tougher ones end up. The committee doesn't seem to give the teams a high seed unless there is a considerable amount of hype around a team, even if they deserve it. I find it highly unlikely that UNI gets a #5 seed (I know the MVC is tough, it's just that mid-majors usually seem to get the shaft, even Gonzaga before last year). GW might suffer this fate too, although the A-10 seems to get a little more respect and their #6 seed makes some sense. Creighton was a 6 a few years back, siu was a 7 last year. UNI will be atleast a 5 imo considering the previous teams I mentioned who are in the same conference and when you realize that the mvc isn't a normal mid major this year, I believe the big 12 past it up now but still above the pac 10 in rpi. UNI's rpi is 14 as of right now, they'll be a top seed.
  18. Is Raw in Chicago tonight?
  19. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) I guess I'm in the minority. I really like both Gonzaga and George Washington. I had GW at #18 in my preseason picks, and Gonzaga at 5. Gonzaga does play down or up to their competition, but the same can be said about most teams in college basketball, outside of Duke and UConn this year. Gonzaga also has a legit big man patrolling the paint, that also happens to shoot 84% from the line. The team as a whole shot over 80% last time I checked, including Ravio's nation leading 96%. Their ability from the outside can also keep them in games if a star players gets hurt. But Batista on the inside, and Morrison on the outside is as good as it gets in the country. As for GW, they returned just about everyone from last years tourney team, including 6 seniors and 2 juniors. With Pops inside and JR Pinnock outside, they are a team to be reckoned with. Especially in such a down year. I actually have no problem with GW, I believe they are a solid team. Gonzaga imo is as good as anyone in the country offensively, however they just don't even care on the defensive side of the ball, if they want to go anywhere they have to learn to play both ends. Obviously depending on the brackets, I can easily see a 2nd round exit for the zags.
  20. The new bracketology is up. Lunardi has Illinois as a 1 as of right now. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology
