As I'm getting out of this thread I see an ad for Gonzaga University on the top of the page.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 01:04 AM) Bulls***. I'm so sick of games tainted by bad officiating. There is an epidemic of this lately. And you won't even hear about this tomorrow, as it's 2 on the east coast and the announcers didn't make a big enough deal of it.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) Clock doesn't start and that block was clean. St. Mary's just got screwed Unless you get absolutely mauled down there which he didn't, you can't call a foul. Just bs. Hopefully we get some Christian Moody action.

I would love if St Mary's could some how pull this off. I highly doubt it but the two other 33 game home win streaks went down with in this last week so who knows.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) I've read a lot of stuff on Tracey. And the one thing everybody seems to agree with is that he would be money in the bullpen. He's a guy with a good hard fastball, he'd be hell on hitters who could only see him for an inning. The one thing he has to master is his control obviously, if he can do that we're looking at a guy who can be a damn good reliever imo.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) Tracey, Baj and Borch That would give us 25 Those are the 3 I want as well. Tracey needs to be on the team imo as I think he can be one hell of a reliever, Borch shortened his swing a ton last season and atleast would offer us some power off the bench which we don't have a lot of right now and baj would be perfect as the 12th pitcher.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) I'm goin Borchard, Grieve, Munoz and Tracey. I would go with Gload. But Mack makes him kinda obsolete. I can't wait for spring training. That would give us 26 players.

Grandstand does the best job imo.

Blue Jays close to signing Bengie Molina
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) AJ Pierzynski hates you. But I mean, is it seriously mere coincidence that all the Sox playoff starters*, and almost the entire bullpen had the best years of their career the first year AJP was here? I'm not sure it is. Garland went from being Jon to Judy, Contreras is no longer labeled a headcase and is now labeled as an ace in some parts, Hermanson looked secksi and pitched well too for a change...I find it hard that those are all coincidental. If anything...AJP is a top 3 handler, if you will, in the game. In Minnesota, San Francisco, and Chicago...but moreso in Minnesota and Chicago...he helped pitchers have great years. If it's happened pretty much his entire career, coincidence halts and it becomes more rule than coincidence. should edit this...FG didn't, but he pitched pretty well all-around, and he pitched much better than he did after the Sox acquired him in 04. I absolutely love aj and I said nobody does it better then Bengie, didn't say there wasn't catchers who did it just as good. AJ is right up there with Bengie as 2 of the best in baseball, no doubt.

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) Northern Iowa?? Sure theyve had a great season, as has the rest of their league with SIU and Witchita St, but they lost. Not deserving. Iowa and Georgetown are underrated in both polls. Meh, don't get to worked up in the polls, it's cool to see your team in there but it's not like they mean anything.

Blue Jays close to signing Bengie Molina
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) There's a reason why they didn't resign Bengie until Mathis is ready. That is because they believe Jose could get it done. Everyone in the organization feels he's better than Bengie, so that's why they're going with him. And imo this is one of the reasons the Angels are going to fall back big time this year.
-
Carlos Lee...
Not happening. Ozzie and Kenny do not want him back. Kenny even made mention to him being a team cancer at soxfest without actually mentioning his name.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) I disagree. I mean, I think it's a good move, but everyone tells me that his defense has gone down big time since their WS season. Just about every Angels fan will tell you that they think his brother (their new starting catcher of the Angels) is flat out better in all categories. Jose might have a better arm but that is it imo. The most important thing a catcher can do is handle a pitching staff and nobody does that better then Bengie. His offense is just an added bonus and it's a huge bonus at that. The guy can play, he's still a very solid catcher.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) Near as I can tell Fraser is out of years. He played at least 24 games in 3 previous seasons and has already played 19 this year. Kind of a sad turn of events, that guy used to be a budding star. Now apparently he's had so many injuries that he can't even dunk at 6'9". His vertical must be like 2 inches right now. I feel bad for the guy cause like you said he had a ton of talent but like I said in my last post, an athletic big guy will just eat him alive now.

The Sumpter situation is definitely interesting. I don't think they can win it all without him cause they really don't have any inside scoring presence. Frasor will just get eaten alive against an athletic big man cause the guy has no knees left. If Curtis could come back at lets say 80 percent and provide some inside scoring they do have a legit shot to win it all. Really tough decision, I'm happy I don't have to make it.
