  1. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) he got out of it, that should make you happy enough Yup, hope he continues it. I think it's pretty obvious right now that a lot of Felix's issues are mental, hopefully he can overcome that.
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) This Ben Sheets talk is just a pipe dream. Why, if Sheets is available you can bet that kenny will get his nose in the bidding.
  3. Ryan makes a nice play to get Felix out of the inning.
  4. Something that seems to happen to Felix is he gets 2 quick outs and then next thing you know there is a 3 spot on the board. I know rogo just made an error but there seems to be some let down in Felix after the first 2 outs.
  5. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) No DePaul play-by-play? If they don't beat UAB next game, even I don't think they deserve a tourney bid... They better win these next 2, at least. Nah, I think if they win today they're in.
  6. Hey guys, just got back from school. I see that Joe is in the lineup, how's his swing looking??
  7. QUOTE(Spiff @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Bulls*** foul call at the end. Tigert was out of control and they bailed him out. Agreed. You can't call that with 4.2 seconds left in a championship game.
  8. Great game going on here. 4.2 Seconds left in the game. Tie ball game, UW-Milwaukee at the line for one more.
  9. Under a minute to go UW-Milwaukee down 2.
  10. Horizon League Championship coming down to the wire, UW Milwaukee down 2 with under 5 left to Detroit.
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) I don't think that Illinois is necessarily the best team out there but they are #1. They should be too unless they collapse in the Big Ten tourney. That's the exact same way I feel.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) Saint Mary's who lost to the Zags deserves an at large bid, imo. They'll get in.
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) There's a f***load of Illini fans here, but I wanna see what you guys think will go down in the Big XII tourney. The bottom half (visually0 of the bracket is much tougher, IMO. Predictions anyone? Mizzou over Nebraska Iowa State over Baylor Kansas State over A & M Texas over Colorado Oklahoma over Mizzou Iowa State over Tech Kansas over Kansas State Ok State over Texas Oklahoma over ISU Ok State over Kansas Ok State over Oklahoma

  15. 11 minutes into the game and st mary's has already nailed 7 three's. 29 to 21 st mary's over the zags right now.
  16. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) Thanks Rowand....I'm so glad Frank's there! As am I, it was just great to see him in camp today and hear him up in the booth, never heard Frank so happy before.
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) That's awesome greasy, great job
  18. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) First weekend loss my ass. One loss to OSU on the road wipes out what they did against probable #1 seed Wake, #4 seed Gonzaga and Wake, #6 Cincinnati and #7 seed Wisconsin? Who the hell is going to beat them on a neutral court that is going to be in the 8-9 game? Maryland? Georgia Tech? Please. Not that I think Maryland or gtech would beat Illinois but both those teams could be pretty dangerous, imo. Maryland has to get in first
  19. Honestly, whoever makes the playoffs out of the central(sox or twins) I think has a real shot to do some damage in the playoffs because of their pitching, jmo.
  20. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Qwerty was the one who decided to beat the dead horse again. Look at post #215. I wasn't directing my comment at you, just in general. I guess I'm just tired of the whole Timo discussion.
  21. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) The games are not played on paper. You learn more about baseball by watching what goes on during the game, not staring at a box score putting together equations to come up with a new stat. Baseball is a game, not a damn science. I completely agree with that, however everyone is entitled to their opinion and there is really no reason to argue over someone else's opinion because in most instances it just won't change. This whole Timo thing needs to be put to rest.
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) It would be freaking fantastic. I'm doubting he has the arm strength to be a starter for any extended period. At the same time David Eckstein never had the arm strenght to be a great SS, yet fielding% wise he was among the best in the businss and Chone Figgins sure as hell didn't have the arm to play 3rd base. The Angels managed. I know one thing, Willie Harris, if given another starting spot is going to be a good ballplayer. I'd love to see Willie be able to handle short but I also have my doubts. I'd love to see Willie and Burke make the team, that would give the sox one hell of a bench imo.
  23. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 01:03 PM) Hells yeah I'd take Mark Kotsay over scooter. SB's mean nothing. In 2004, there was a negative correlation between runs scored and Stolen bases. Baseball is about scoring runs. Correlation to RS BA - .80 OBP - .87 SLG - .92 OPS - .97 SB - -.16 Chicks dig the longball, and so do I. (I'm a sucker for the suicide sqeeze too, but those actually equate to runs scored) To tell you the truth cheat those stats mean absolutely nothing to me. The fact remains with a better offense Kotsay scored 78 runs while Scott scored 85 in an awful year offensively for him.
  24. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) How many runs did Pods SB's in the past two days lead to? For stealing 70 SB's last season he only scored 85 runs. What a joke. They don't mean s***. Gimme a guy who can get on base more often, and doesn't give away outs by getting thrown out. They turn the the line-up over and give the team more opportunities than a low OBP his steals guy. Wait, you're going to use 2 spring training games for your argument. That's a joke. Perhaps you'd like Mark Kotsay over Pods who had a .370 obp to Scott's .313 last year. Kotsay also had the better hitters in back of him, yet Mark doesn't run at all. Scott still scored more runs then Kotsay last year. Now I'm not saying scott doesn't have to get on base more this year, cause he does and I'm almost certain he will but to say stolen bases are meaningless is a complete joke to me.
