QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) I will bet 10 grand Washington doesn't get out of their region. They're losing to Pitt. -

I really don't understand how Louisville is a 4. I'm going to have an insane amount of upsets in this region. -

QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) how? I meant to say Illinois got f***ed. I personally don't think they'll get out of this region, 'zona and osu are damn good teams but obviously Illinois has the talent to get out of it, they're just in a tough region. -

Unbelievable. I get home from work and el duque is out of the game, the same thing happened when Bmac pitched the last game that was on t.v. I have bad luck. So by the score it looks like Orlando pitched well, how'd he look out there??

Duke and gtech are in a shoot out right now.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Here is why. Last season, the Brewers were 42-29 (.592) when he scored a run and 22-61 (.265) when he did not . If he can stay hot like he has been all throughout ST and just be able to get on base, the Sox success rate skyrockets. Whether a walk, HBP, single, dropped-3 strike, or whatever, if Pods gets on base, the Sox will play better. 42-29...that 13 games over .500 and almost a .600 win percentage. He can improve the Sox a lot this year. Another key with Pods is that he doesnt get into long slumps or hitless streaks. Pods was held hitless in more than two straight games only once (three games, 8/21-23). That is amazing. The other factor in this is the Sox 2, 3, 4, and 5 hitters. Are they going to be able to get him over and get him in. I surely hope so. It's up to the first 5 in the order this year. Get ready for an exciting season of White Sox baseball. The leadoff hitter is the key to any team.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) Thats what I thought. So is the question that will be asked in regards to Northern Iowa is whether there conference deserves 3 teams or not. That may be what gets them in the end. Had SIU won the conference instead of SMS, I think Northern Iowa would of probably been a lock. Now they will probably be the last team in if it happens. I hope they do get in, just not over my Hawkeyes, LOL. I'll be rooting for Dr. Tom. SIU did win the conference. -
Okie State pulls it out by 3.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) On a sidenote, I would pay $20 to see Will Bynum and Nate Robinson play one on one. Wow, that would be something special to watch.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) Should be a really good game. Both teams don't get talked about much but Salim Stoudamire is a hell of a player, plus Arizona has good depth. While I think the Pac 10 blows, Arizona is one of those teams that when hot is really hard to beat, same can be said for Washington as well. If Arizona wins this they could have an outside shot at a #1 seed, but my guess is they'll be a 2 seed regardless. I agree, they're a 2 seed. I think Arizona has one hell of a team but I really don't like Washington at all because of defensive deficiencies, jmo.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) Sure you don't mean under the wheels, or under the bus, or...? Meh, whatever, leave me alone.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) If Will Bynum decides to take a game over like he did today, they are almost unstoppable. He makes Felton even look slow, its almost not fair. I love watching Bynum play. He's from chicago and I saw him play in a high school all star game back in the day and I immediately fell in love with the way he plays the game.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) Right now Buerhle is the only one of the starters throwing well, Garcia, Garland and El-Duque I feel will be fine, but Contreras is another story. What do you guys think about McCarthy starting the year in the majors? He is pitching better than everyone except Buerhle. It's March freaking 12. I mean, I like Brandon as much as anyone here but c'mon why don't we give Contreras a few starts during the regular season before we start throwing him under the bridge. I understand there are people here who aren't confident in Jose and that's fine, I just think it's nuts to want to rush Brandon cause Contreras has had a few rough outings during st, jmo.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) And then didn't Maryland pretty much choke and burn right out of the tourney? Thats what you have to also look for since GT is using up a lot of there energy. Of course GT is one of the best teams in the country on paper and they are just finally starting to play like that. They lost to Syracuse in the 2nd round who was a higher seed so I wouldn't call it a choke job. To me when Gtech is playing their game they are one of the best teams in the country but as you guys know I've been saying that for a while now.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) So now back to Iowa. Are they dancin? I believe so, after beating msu and playing one hell of a game today, I think they're in.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) The scary thing is that Tech could end up as an 8 seed. How s***ty would that be to see them as a #1 seed? What I was just telling wharris a little while ago if gtech wins their tourney I think they get up to atleast a 7 seed and maybe a 6. Remember last year when Maryland came into the acc tourney as a bubble team, won the tourney and they became a 5 seed. I agree with you guys though, gtech right now can beat absolutely anyone and if they don't win the tourney and they end up as an 8 or a 9, the 1 seed who they get matched up against in the 2nd round is getting a raw deal.

Gtech knocks off UNC by 3.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) anyone care to know about the game? Ya, keep the updates coming.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) I would like to say Seth Davis is the worst college bball analyst I have ever heard in my entire life. I was about to tell you why Seth Green was the worst college bball analyst you've ever heard.
