QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Remember who reported this... QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Please make sure we consider the source, Levine. Good point, I seemed to miss that part

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) Depends. Sometimes teams rally and play even better for a few games without their star player. But this news might hurt them knowing they are much weaker for the rest of the tourney. I'm still expecting a great game. I wanted Jason Frasor REAL bad, glad to see he's finally getting healthy, even if it hurts my team. I guess we'll see who wins our bet this week, won't we palehose?? I picked Nova to beat UNC but this sumpter injury really does suck, however Frasor was absolutely outstanding yesterday, I'm not sure who got watch that game but he was unstoppable every time he touched the ball he either scored or was sent to the line and if he wasn't getting the ball, he'd get the offensive rebound. Hopefully Frasor can keep up with may and make up for the absence of Sumpter.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) Just heard Bruce Levine on ESPN 1000 and the results from the CATScan were also inconclusive and that Buerhle may be out of the woods. The only thing that showed up on the scan was a dark shadow that may be a result of an old injury. The new prognosis is that they will rest him for a couple of days and that he may even start to throw again by the end of the week. That's fricken awesome.

Damaso looks awesome. His fastball is crisp again, last year it just wasn't and his slider has that nasty bite back on it. He still needs to get ahead of the hitters but he looks 10 times better then he did last year.
-
Well obviously buehrle being out really, really sucks. Brandon will get his shot no, no doubt and if he continues to impress and does what we all think he can do, I don't think you can send him back down to the minors. Like I said before if Brandon does pitch well in the majors, that's a great problem to have and something is going to have to be worked out to keep brandon on the major league roster.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) I am still looking pretty good. Let's hope that lasts. Me too. In the soxtalk bracket there are 6 people either ahead of me or tied with me. Out of those 6 only 2 of them didn't have wake in the final four and those two had them in the elite 8, my whole elite 8 is intact still because I had wake losing 2nd round. -
I'm in great shape in my pools. I had Wake losing this round to Creighton so basically I lost 1 point when everyone else lost a ton, that game was huge for me. I also have ttech and utah in the elite 8 so them both winning was big for me. I still have my whole elite 8 intact, looking good so far, tomorrow is absolutely huge for me.

QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) compare his home-road numbers....u's always b**** about paulie needing to do better on the road. Does he need to improve his road stats from last year--yes he does, but to say he can only hit at the cell is just ridiculous, imo.
-
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) Go Ohio go, I don't care that is screws up my bracket, thats one less dangerous team in the bracket. I have Florida losing to nova next round, so I think ohio winning would help me more then it would hurt me. Go Ohio!!!
-
Wow, Ohio was down 20 at one time in the 2nd half and they've now tied up Florida.
-
Man, Iowa State is playing some swarming defense.
-
QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 12:05 PM) . PK is just good at hitting at the cell, thats it. KW, JR... :headshake Because pauly had 1 year where he hit much better at the cell then on the road that means he can only hit at the cell??

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) Jon Scheyer, Glenbrook North, 48 points Holy f***ing s***. Choose Illinois my friend! A couple of my friends went to watch him play and just said he's absolutely amazing. I guess he had a chance for 50 at the end of the game but got stuffed by the rim when attempting a dunk -
Guillen: McCarthy 'best pitcher we have right now'

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 07:51 AM) I even think his fastball is a bit faster -- Jason said he's seen Mac top out at 95 when he wants to give someone some high heat, but he's right in the range you indicated. EDIT: And while velocity isn't everything, you'd hope that he fills out his frame a little bit more and adds some more bite to that heater... Unfortunately I missed bmac pitch both times(right when I'd get home from school, he'd be taken out ) Keith, tell me if I'm wrong here, it sounds like he has a lot of movement on his fastball and he obviously spots that pitch excellently. IMO, movement is more important then the velocity on the fastball and if you can spot that pitch it's almost impossible to hit. -

QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) They gonna show a replay of this at all? I'm gonna be at skool. I'm not My mom let me stay home to watch the tourney today and now I get to watch this too, pretty awesome -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 07:43 AM) Starting pitchers are the 5 guys we have signed to big contracts until further notice. MB Garcia Garland Hernandez Contreras Bullpen Shingo Hermy Viz Politte Cotts Marte Surprise of camp has been BMac no doubt, and that is saying something. We have kept hearing how good he is, and how good he will be... but he has shutdown two of the best hitting teams in baseball in the thin air of AZ. He has been incredible Honorable mentions go to Pablo Ozuna and Reynoso. Both have openned eyes. Pretty easy there, basically the only spot left for pitching is that last lefty bullpen slot. I personally am hoping that Kevin Walker can continue to impress and we can let Neal get some time to start down in charlotte.

To answer the title, nope.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) GT? The ACC is allergic to defense. Have you seen gtech play this year?? They're one of the best defensive teams in the nation, imo.
