  1. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 11:28 AM) Happened with Eaton. Eh he had a below average like quarter of a season due to injury, he wasn't a 4 or 5 year underachiever like Lawrie.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 11:20 AM) What players does he need to fit his offense? This roster isn't a title contender and it is not an amazing offensive roster but there is no way they should be as bad as they are on that end. I absolutely agree but honestly, who cares? This roster has needed a huge overhaul forever and it never happens. Until that happens we're stuck and just to be clear, I'm not ready to give up on Fred after 20 games but he's certainly been bad so far. Edit: yeesh, that post was all over the place.
  3. As I've said the last few days I'm not a big Lawrie fan but he's much better than anything we had and we gave up nothing so I'm definitely happy about the trade. That said, I don't expect him to make a jump or "figure it out" here, that doesn't happen with us and hitters, he is what he is.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Really? I don't see much of that. I don't see them ever becoming villains. They don't play dirty. They don't flop all over the court. They don't under-perform like Lebron (in terms of his insane expectation levels). Steph is an incredibly likeable guy that looks more like you and I than anyone else in the league. Other than Detroit and Utah, were the Bulls dynasty teams ever vilified? I don't think so. The Rockets weren't. The Lakers might have been a little, but most people were pulling for Kobe. The Spurs weren't/aren't. The Heat were because they were "hollywood as hell" and that's 100% true. He definitely does. Once again, I personally couldn't care less as that's just the NBA but that type of stuff usually bothers people. I don't really remember how the early 90's teams were perceived nationally but those Bulls teams would have been despised in this day and age, that's for sure.
  5. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 01:17 PM) Not sure if this has been addressed in this thread, but why is Oakland trading Lawrie? Cause he's not that good.
  6. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) Man I don't want CarGo to go to the Cubs You like that guy way too much.
  7. I'm kind of interested when the Warriors start to become villains nationally. I love to watch them play and Steph is a blast but he's starting to be the guy that whines after every play and he's the ultimate showboat but no one says anything yet. That type of stuff never bothers me but it usually does annoy people on a national stage.
  8. Hayes just tweeted that he originally heard the price was high for Lawrie, so take that for what it's worth.
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:23 AM) You weren't that big of a part of that season Actually had a feeling this joke was coming when I saw you were the last to post here. WAY TO BE PREDICTABLE
  10. As long as he's not violent or dangerous to others, I couldn't care less how big of a douche the guy is if he can play. The supposed king of all douche's was a huge part of 05.
  11. I could deal with Hawkins being the main piece. I guess what makes me nervous is I have no clue what Lawrie's value is compared to the player he actually is.
  12. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:58 PM) He is 26 and better then any other option we currently have, right? He's 26 but he's not good so I just don't care about his age. Yes, he's better than what we have so if we didn't give up a lot for him then I'd be ok with it but I don't want to give up anything people are mentioning here besides Avi and I'm not anti trading prospects at all.
  13. Really don't care that Lawrie is under control for a while cause he's just not that good. Not going to get myself worked up over this yet but not a fan of the idea.
  14. Better not be giving up a lot for him.
  15. What legit contenders have gotten that much better so far? It's early December and while they haven't grabbed a true stud yet, they've certainly gotten better. Their fans have nothing to be pissed about.
  16. We might be able to trade Sale for a whole baseball team.
  17. Your daily reminder that the Warriors are indeed good at basketball.
  18. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 01:17 PM) What is this show? Can someone sum it up in a few words? f***in awesome!
  19. QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 11:26 PM) The crazed throng of Sheamus fans are probably crashing the TM system trying to get tickets to see their hero. I laughed. They do presales but release like 0 tickets. The pre sale for the raw after was yesterday and there was nothing available all day, we'll see what happens in 25 minutes when they're fully released.
  20. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:45 PM) I hear you guys but the Cubs believe they are going for it next year. They have to be willing to do some NOW deals if they want to get to that ultimate goal right away. Also true. Not to mention that they have all these position players locked up for 8 million years that I'm sure in their minds they can lose one pick and be ok.
  21. The draft pick is a very fair point, didn't even think about that for some reason.
  22. Not a Lackey fan but a two year deal certainly isn't going to hurt or stop them from making other moves.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 01:58 PM) Oh I think all teams want to do that. The Sox just seem better at it. I haven't done a statistical sampling or anything, but it seems with most teams, the media are all aware of the direction they are going, and seem to know a lot about what players they are on. For Sox, there are a few here and there, but most of the time we don't hear much until it is done. Could be my biased perspective, that's why I asked. That's fair. I'm not tuned in enough to other teams to give a good answer. Glad I could help.
