  1. Baseball is a funny game so this series is far from over. That said, I think the Mets are just a bit better.
  2. Amazing how people just forget to cover the bag sometimes.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 17, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) Goins pretty much cost the Jays that game. Price was untouchable up until that error they called a hit. I think that play is more on Joey bats. That's a much easier play for the right fielder, he should have called him off.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 10:46 AM) Bet the house? Soxtalk has lost enough houses lately so I'm not going to go there. Arrieta has looked human his last 2 starts and he'll keep coming back to earth in my opinion. His absurd domination is over I believe.
  5. Arrieta is going to get hit today as well, the Cubs really needed that game yesterday imo.
  6. A few months back my boss made me fire someone who didn't deserve to be fired. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
  7. That targeting call on UM was one of the worst calls you'll ever see.
  8. I call dibs on watching a game in wrigleyville with fathom if the Cubs make the World Series!
  9. I'll say Mets in 6. No chance the Cubs go bombs away against that pitching and Arrieta will continue to be human.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfan90 @ Oct 15, 2015 -> 09:26 PM) Both the Dodgers and the Mets aren't too impressive. Cubs are going to beat whoever they play the in NLCS. You're not impressed because they're not putting up 8000 runs because they've been facing excellent pitching. In other news I don't understand Mattingly leaving Greinke in to bat in the bottom of the 6th.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 15, 2015 -> 08:23 AM) The Nationals had the NL locked up for the next 5 years too. The Cubs very well may dominate, but s*** happens in baseball. Ya nobody should be surprised if the Cubs do indeed become the Cardinals for the next decade or if they have a few injuries that derail everything. Baseball is a funny game.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 15, 2015 -> 10:18 AM) yessir Did you post and text this at this exact same time?!?
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 15, 2015 -> 09:58 AM) I wouldn't have a problem with a spontaneous, joyous reaction. I do have a huge problem with the looking at the pitcher--always have. It seems to be a new trend to look out at the pitcher to get your jollies on his reaction. I'll be honest, I'm more of an "act like you've been there before" person. I think that's cooler. But I guess people like to see more emotion and histrionics. I think there's a place in Baseball for a certain level of sportsmanship. In my opinion, Bautista crossed it with the staring out, even if it was for a half second...it was jerk move. Well he hasn't been there before. To each their own but in my world if you hit a homerun like that, do whatever the f*** you want to do. If the pitcher has a problem with it then don't let up the homer.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 14, 2015 -> 07:09 PM) They play 7 games against each other next May. I'm sure that will be addressed. I'm not disagreeing with you but it'll be pretty dumb if Texas does anything. If there's ever a time to celebrate and get crazy it's when you hit THAT homerun.
  15. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Oct 14, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) I watched a decent amount of the Cubs/Cards series. This was my first look at the Cubs all season. My observations based on this series is that the Cubs resurgence is having good offense, good defense, good starting pitching( but aged) and a good bullpen. I have seen Maddon for many years both in Tampa as well as living in New England and watching the Red Sox. I think he is a very good manager. So your observation is the reason that they're good is because they're good in every aspect of the game?
  16. Ya between injuries and oldness they'll figure out minutes for Portis.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 08:36 AM) Maddon said something to the effect that the Cardinals are "overwhelmed" by the Cubs. And Cubs fans call the Cardinals pompus. Who is holding up the "Its Gonna Happen" signs everywhere? Carrying the dumb W flags to opposing parks? Who has all the World Series titles? GMAB Cardinals fans are beyond pompous. I went to the game yesterday, good times. And I'm shocked some of you guys are just giving the cubs game 3, it's baseball, weird s*** happens all the time.
  18. Live over/under on strikeouts is currently set at 8 billion.
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 03:46 PM) I love it. 3v3 is a total gimmick too, but it's way more exciting than a shootout, and less campy. At least it's a gimmick where the actual game is involved. But ya, should be fun to watch through out the season.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) If she was so great she would put on weight to fight Cyborg, but she won't do it because she knows it would be her first real challenge. She'd rather just sit back and fight accountants and collect her checks. Other fighters move around weight classes all the time to prove they're the best. She just wants no piece of Cyborg. How many UFC fighters that were current champions moved around weight classes to take a fight?

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 12:18 PM) Direct quote. "Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time. He would definitely beat me in a boxing match," Rousey said. "I unfortunately don't get into 'matches.' I fight for a living. In a no-rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on the planet…that's my honest answer." Anyone who is that good at what they do thinks they're better than everyone, I've never seen a problem with anyone thinking that way. And she fight's everyone she can. Not her fault her division sucks or that some people can't cut weight/like roids.

Love me some Ronda but not cause of her looks. Not attracted to her either.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) If the Cubs can get by the Cards, they have a chance since Arietta should be lined up to pitch 2 games at least in the NLCS or WS. He's given up 4 earned runs his last 97 innings. He was very hittable yesterday, at some point someone is going to get to him. Maybe. I think.
  24. Been expecting the Arrieta market correction for a while now and surprised it hasn't happened today, he has not looked that great. Very lucky today.
