I know koch scares the hell out of everyone but he gets the job done and that's all that matters. Would I be scared like crazy if he came in during the playoffs... no doubt but what he get the job done, there's a good chance he would. Marte is marte, I'm sure shingo would be fine in the playoffs, who knows about cotts, and I'm sure adkins would only be used if he was really needed. I'm sure jackson and wunsch would be fine. I guess we can agree to disagree on this topic. If we'd have to give up Lee to get schmidt you better pull the trigger on it. Like I said before I absolutely love Carl and he's probably the one left handed bat I want on the sox more then anyone that is in reasonable reach. To me I still between Lee and Konerko one of them has to be traded. To me a perfect scenario is to get rid of Lee and get Carl not necessarily in the same trade

LOL, I do like most of your ideas, however I don't think there is any need for the sox to add another bullpen, I do think it's a playoff pen especially once damaso gets going and don't forget if the sox were to make the playoffs cotts would go back in the pen also. Now if the sox were able to someway swing a deal for Jason Schmidt of course you do it, I think crede is going to be a solid player but if you can get an ace you do it, but I don't think the giants are going to trade him. Also I would absolutely love to get Carl back he's a damn good left handed bat that came up with some huge hits last year, you'd also be able to put him behind Frank and then Frank would start getting some pitches to hit and go absolutely nuts.

Agreed, AJ is not needed on this team, nor would he be accepted.

BREAKING NEWS! Cotts will start Saturday
I hope your kidding, damaso is stuggling right now but for the most part he's still producing and once damaso gets back to his old self which he will, the sox will again have the best left handed reliever in the american league.

Willie and Maggs Injury Update Thread
I'm worried about Willie, the guy has been playing great and I don't want anything to stop that and an injury could definitely slow him down a little bit.

Why is Crede still playing?
Did he drive the run in....yes. It wasn't pretty and no he didn't hit the ball hard but he got the job done and that's all that matters.

BREAKING NEWS! Cotts will start Saturday
The royals starting pitching is bad not because they have a lot of lefties but because their starting pitchers just suck.
-
Why is Crede still playing?
But it doesn't matter it got through and your right cwsox baseball is a game of inches and what he said doesn't make a lot of sense.
-
Why is Crede still playing?
It was a slowly hit ground ball through the hole between short and 3rd.

Why is Crede still playing?
Ok and how many games has Crede won for the sox this year??

Why is Crede still playing?
Completely agreed Crede needs to stay in the lineup. That ball to center was definitely catchable but he's rusty out there right now, but once he gets used to playing center again he will be fine out there. I think this is the best everday lineup the sox can put out there now considering there is no way in hell you can have an 8 million dollar a year bench player in pk, but hopefully kenny can swing a deal to get rid of pk or carlos soon. I would love to see ross get to play everday it just won't happen right now.

Koch
I honestly could care less what billy's era, if he keeps getting saves he's doing his job. Billy....

Gammons on Sox trade talks
They were both in the Everett deal. Also with the Koch trade, it sucked for last year, but what does oakland have to show for it now? I know most everyone hates koch, but he's 6 of 7 in save opportunites and has done his job, and also got a stud pitcher out of it in cotts who eventually is going to be one hell of a starting pitcher.

Wondering how this will shake out....
I dislike the cubs a lot more then the twins, but I want the twins to lose more.

Gammons on Sox trade talks
It'd be great for the sox to take their time with him, but I think he'd be more beneficial to the white sox then clee even if he didn't produce at a huge level right away.

Gammons on Sox trade talks
Exactly, sorry bolding words looked like fun. Anways kenny will make a move and he'll make one quite soon I believe. Jas you make a great point about the financial flexibility right now. Peter Gammons,(yes I know it's peter gammons so not a great source) brought up Kris Benson again on the 11 o'clock bbtn, but if Kenny is looking to acquire him he must be trying to also trade PK or carlos because I'm positive he has no money to spend right now, I wonder how he's trying to work that out. Kenny is probably the most aggressive gm in baseball and I don't think it's just a coincidence gammons keeps mentioning him with trade talks. I think there might be a trade before Diaz's next start against the twinkies. I said before in other threads that if the sox could get rid of pk or carlos even for prospects it would be addition by subtraction meaning I think the sox offense is better off with gload starting at 1b then pk(I really love watching ross play) and reed out in lf then carlos.

Gammons on Sox trade talks
To rebuild you keep your young, cheap, good, talented players you don't trade them. If your rebuilding you trade guys in the last years of their contracts or older players for prospects, the pirates would never trade Oliver.
