  1. The mets have been in Freddy Garcia rumors also. Are the Mets a great team... no they aren't but they might be able to hang around for a while. Plus the fact they just signed Cameron this offseason you think they'd already be willing to trade him? I love the idea of JD Drew, if Drew ever stays healthy he'll be one hell of a player, add left handed pop to the sox and yes he can play centerfield.
  2. Interesting read. I know Pineiro's name has been mentioned a number of times around here and I wonder if seattle really would trade him. If a salary dump isn't what they really care about a Lee for Garcia deal might actually be possible. Even with Winn having a down year so far I wouldn't mind the sox picking him up I think he's still only 28 or 29. It's nice to see that money isn't a huge concern with the Mariners and that definitely hurts the yankees in terms for trading for Freddy because they have nothing in their farm.
  3. I don't think the mets are ready to sell anything off yet. They're .500 and they might be buyers and not sellers.
  4. This Sunday.
  5. When was I ripping on Gammons? I never once said anything bad about him, I was just stating facts but I never once ripped on the guy.
  6. Hey I'm just telling you what he said. Because when he said the sox were going to be this years marlins he said because he thought they would sign colon. Then when he was making his predictions he said they'd finish 3rd in the central. I'm just telling you what he said, don't shoot the messanger. But like I already said I don't care what he thinks.
  7. He said that, cause he believe they were going to resign Bartolo and he did predict the sox to finish 3rd. That being said I could absolutely care less what Gammons or all the other bbtn members think about the sox or anyone in the media for that matter.
  8. Gracias! I was pretty sure, just wanted to be positive.
  9. Well he said "I thought the Dodgers had an awful system and that was why they couldn't get any pitching last season?" Since he said to get pitching I assumed he meant the Jays. The dodgers do have some absolute studs though in Jackson and Miller. Hanrahan is also a descent prospect. Franklin Gutierrez was in the Milton Bradley deal, correct?
  10. Do you mean the jays?
  11. Danny Wright and Kris Honel for Roy Halladay? Wouldn't that be amazing.
  12. If he comes into a game with a two run lead and lets up one does it matter?? Not to me it doesn't, I think era is pretty overrated for a closer, he has to close games out period. If he lets up a run or two when he has a two run or three run lead it doesn't matter as long as the sox win the game. You guys can rip billy all you want but he's doing his job.
  13. There's a shock.
  14. Exactly what you said, I was definitely losing faith in Borchard but still rooting for him. I'm a huge joe bo fan and I hope I'm dead, dead wrong on him, I want him to be the stud we all know he can be.
  15. He predicted 3rd, Reynolds said 4th.
  16. Well I'm not going to get back into the bullpen argument we agreed to disagree so I'll leave it at that. The biggest key for me is for the sox to maintain a consistant offense and I think the sox will be right up there with the elite teams in the al.
  17. I'm with anthony and have been on this subject for a while. Koch has done his job this year. He's 7 for 8, who cares about his era, his era went up big time in those two games against baltimore where he let up one and two runs in back to back games but he still closed out the game and did his job. You guys can say what you want about koch but he's done his job this year, period.
  18. I'm also kind of wondering about Jeremy's defense. I know he's supposed to be solid in the outfield but not a true centerfielder. Have any of you seen him play centerfield and if so do you think he'd be able to hold down playing center?
  19. That would be so refreshing to watch on this baseball team. Sometime this year, maybe with in a month or so I think Joe Bo or Reed will get a call up, I think that will mostly depend on if Borchard can keep up his hot streak.
  20. No problem, sorry if I got out of hand there.
  21. Mistreated?? You came on to wsi and said you demanded respect and called wsi the minor leagues of message boards, you got what you deserved. I agree with what steff said your not the best ambassador for this board. Also what do you mean when you say wsi is soxtalk's alter ego. I love soxtalk and I also love wsi, they're both great white sox websites.
  22. I totally disagree about his trade value. Like you said he has enormous potential and is only 25 so teams will most certainly still be interested. I'd like to keep Joe around but if the sox were able to swing a deal to bring in a stud pitcher, I would definitely not be opposed to it.
  23. I would certainly do that deal. I'll keep on saying this offense won't be consistant until either pk or carlos is traded. I'm a huge fan of Gload and would love to see him get some consistant playing time. Gload can hit for power but doesn't over swing alot and goes into left, leftcenter a lot.
