QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 07:27 PM) Sign Jimmy Graham, Hakeem Nicks and bring back Slauson. Resign Cutler, too. Draft more offense, just BPA as long as they play offense. See what happens, could be fun. Lol

2013-2014 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 07:15 PM) Jesus people. Learn to read. Here are the points i'm making: (1) Cutler might have outplayed Rogers in today's game based on stats alone, but at the end of the day one guy led his team down the field and won the game. That's who I think had the better game. It's not like Rogers sucked. (2) in thinking about the future, I don't believe Cutler is a franchise QB or the answer for the Bears, for a variety of reasons which I've spelled out. I'm not opposed to bringing him back, but it has to be at the right price because there are enough weapons for average QB's to win with IF they can also upgrade the defense. (3) the defense blows and clearly made critical errors in the game. They are much more to blame than Cutler. (4) people blaming Tucker for a stupid mistake by the defense on a fumble-TD and thinking Lovie would have stopped that from happening are stupid. We all understand what you're trying to say but it's absurd.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 07:01 PM) It sure would have been nice to not waste the first timeout in the 2nd half on the Alshon play that should have been called a TD. He was down but it was really dumb to lose a timeout there. This Cutler-Rodgers argument is funny to me, I'm about as unbiased as it comes on these teams and Cutler outplayed Rodgers, Rodgers looked like crap most of the game. Does that mean you bring back Jay? That's a whole different question and something this game really shouldn't have decided.

Ha there's an argument on Rodgers today? He was bad. Still wouldn't want to face him in the playoffs though.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 12:35 AM) Chris Bosh showed last night just how much he's sacrificed individually for the good of the team the last 3+ years. He's become pretty underrated. I agree with this.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 26, 2013 -> 09:52 PM) Every year these vaunted defenses get torched by a QB who catches fire in the playoffs. The Eagles, Saints, Bears/Packers winner... they get in and suddenly their extremely dangerous because if the game devolves into a shootout you're taking Brees, Rodgers, Foles and the Bears ungodly 1-2 WR combo against whatever offense Seattle, Carolina and San Francisco can muster. When the wheels come off and everyone is just heaving that s*** the defense stops being so important. Not necessarily saying the Bears specifically trip into the playoffs and go on some magical run, but I wont be as shocked as everyone else when Seattle gives up 30+ points in the playoffs and loses because they can't keep up. The Super Bowl last year was Joe f***in Flacco vs that same Niners team you're talking about Rodgers, Peyton and Brees all have less rings than Eli Manning and Roethlisberger.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 25, 2013 -> 10:38 PM) Haha they all do. As I've said before, I don't hate Cena but at a house show, I got exactly the people I want to be there, as long as AJ is there. Fun time, basically what you'd expect out of a house show. First time I've been to a non ppv show in years, the place still goes absolutely bat s*** Crazy for Punk even when it's not a sell out.

Rosenthal: Tanaka to Yankees
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 26, 2013 -> 03:38 PM) If Sale's deal actually had been like 7/$70, rather than the last/expensive years being options, I could definitely see the team hesitating or not signing that deal. Ya that changes things big time, no doubt.
-
Rosenthal: Tanaka to Yankees
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 26, 2013 -> 03:29 PM) No. He was year to year before that. If he blew out his arm in September, the Sox could have walked away. It bought out arb years, but there is no obligation to offer him a contract. Do the Sox owe Dylan Axelrod money for the next several years? Man, you really like to argue just to argue. Fine, they bought out his arb years plus 1, so they locked themselves into 4 years for a whole 32 million, not 7 years for 120. The situations aren't even comparable, you're just trying to make a point for some reason.

Rosenthal: Tanaka to Yankees
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 26, 2013 -> 03:20 PM) No he wasn't. I don't think people realize Tanaka is only 5 months older than Sale. The contract extension added one more guaranteed year, so yes he was.

Rosenthal: Tanaka to Yankees
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 26, 2013 -> 03:18 PM) Sale has a 6-7 year deal. He was under our control for most of those years already, much different story. And what Balta said.

Rosenthal: Tanaka to Yankees
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 26, 2013 -> 03:10 PM) But simultaneously, the idea of him winding up similar to Matsuzaka in performance and injuries while getting $50 million more is terrifying. And as much as we all like Abreu we'd have a ton of money locked down on basically 2 prospects. I just honestly never want to give a pitcher a 6-7 year deal and that's what he's going to get. No thanks.
