Keeper league I take it? Not sure how it'd be possible to get Marshawn, Martin, Morris and Calvin otherwise.

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 05:40 PM) Why else would they want to dump De Aza? His offensive output is actually pretty nice. It is absolutely because of his defensive and base running IQ. Nobody knows if they're trying to get rid of De Aza or not.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 05:42 PM) I wonder how much Hulk asked for. It isn't like he can work intense crowd pleasing matches Supposedly he was getting like 30k per appearance from TNA.

Your Realistic 2014 Lineup
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 05:49 PM) So if Sale is an injury waiting to happen, why would a GM offer 3 top 50 prospects for him??? Remember all the great prospects "fans" thought Peavy would bring?? Well the Red Sox turned down Peavy for Bradley. If Sale is an endangered species as some feel, he will not bring back a windfall. Therefore I expect to see him in a White Sox uniform next spring ready to win 20 games next year. At this point people around the league probably realize that Sale is no more likely to get hurt than any other pitcher.

Your Realistic 2014 Lineup
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) I'm against moving Sale because I don't think any team would meet the asking price it would take to get him but it can't hurt to listen to offers. This is probably the best way to sum up my feelings as well.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 12:55 PM) LOL, WWE is like "Thanks but no thanks, Hulkamania" http://rajah.com/node/36573 That's cause they're going to shell out a ton of money to Austin for the Rowand dream match of Punk-Stone Cold. No they're not but I can dream.

Soxtalk Anonymous?
Ya I've met way too many people on this site. Been to 2 peoples weddings and still stay in pretty consistent contact with 2 people at the moment. Very sad.

So if you're in a yahoo league and have Sproles you'll have 2 more points and if you have Pierre Thomas, 2 less points when the stat corrections are added in tomorrow.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 04:00 PM) I don't think there's anything wrong with being a fan of Cabrera. He was and still is a monster. Well duh. But I hate him now cause he's a big fat stupid face who beats up on my favorite team cause he's a mean person.

RB is obviously insanely thin this year but I highly doubt it ever becomes standard to go to 1 rb only spot.

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 04:19 PM) We are in a thread inspired by an article saying they would push hard for Granderson. Ok sorry, rumblings from fans and mystery sources. Just making a point really that the Sox wont come out and say they use or don't use a specific stat just as they wont come out and claim they're trying to upgrade from De Aza.

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) I don't honestly care what baseball fans think. I care if the organizations think it is worthy, and then you actually have hit your standard of "widely accepted" and "state of the art". If not, their opinions aren't any more widely accepted than the "eye test " group out there in baseball today. If the Sox felt those numbers were an accurate representation of De Aza's true value, there wouldn't be rumblings of them looking to upgrade his spot. Rumblings from fans, nothing out of the organization. Everyone would be fine with upgrading from De Aza, it's just not as easy to do as some people seem to believe.

I actually really liked that Marlins team at the time too, looking back at it some of the players I liked are just gross now. I was a big fan of Pierre, Castillo, Carl Pavano, Cabrera and Beckett at that point, yuck.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 12:48 PM) Rowand, remember how we were talking about how you picked up Julio Jones since a guy dropped him without keeping it through? 2 days later that happened in my league, and I was able to pick him up. I don't think anyone else went for him either. He was a 2nd round pick, so the guy doesn't want to keep him for a 1st...but as a FA, he's now using a spot 3 rounds below next year's ADP. So likely a 5th or 6th rounder. No idea why he wouldn't just throw him on IR, but hey, thanks. Ha, very nice.

2013 Cubs catch all thread
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 12:15 PM) Talk about the way back machine...I was at U of I when they lost, and I remember writing the best away message in the history of away messages, just ripping the Cubs and all the bandwagon, dbag fans around campus for the past couple weeks. Seriously, 50%-60% of people going to class were wearing some sort of blue. Sororities ordered t-shirts. Bars had playoff logo glasses ordered It was the worst thing ever. My away message was the biggest, best "f*** off" ever. I wish I still had it. I couldn't care less about the Cubs now but that season at the time made me despise everything about them and their fans. That October sucked until that game.

Trading Chris Sale would have to net the best package of prospects that's ever been traded before.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 07:25 AM) Gotta love playing two guys who throw up a goose egg in one league (Shorts, Graham) and two guys who get hurt and have to leave the game early in the other (Cobb, Schaub). This was probably the worst luck I've ever had in any one week of fantasy football in a long, long time. Man, I thought starting Tom Brady sucked.

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 06:55 AM) Unfortunately no one has an outs on bases stat that is sortable. BR has it for individual players. De Aza had 19 outs on the bases this year (OOB+CS) vs the 20 SBs he had. 11 of those were baserunning mistakes that were not deemed as CS's. For contrast Ramirez in his 30 steals, had 15 outs on the bases this year, 6 of which weren't CS's. Alex Rios had 5 OOB this year that weren't CS's. Yes De Aza had as many outs on the bases (not including CS's) as two of the biggest idiots in baseball combined in Rios and Ramirez. Again, any baserunning stat that tells me De Aza was a good baserunner has problems. I'm sure the stat that was posted takes all that into consideration.

I'm down 14.8 with Gates going tonight. With the way this season has been going he'll get 12-14 and I'll fall to 2-4 with the 2nd most points in the league

Red Sox vs. Tigers
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 11:55 PM) Except for all the reasons that team fell apart two years ago and then under Valentine...85-90% of them fall on Theo's shoulders. This year's creation is almost all on Cherington/John Henry. How are you not understanding this?
