  1. To answer the title of this thread...definitely. I like Addy but he's a reliever and one whose value will never be higher. Obviously you're not giving him away but I'm definitely shopping him around to see what you can get.
  2. The list of injuries coming out for some of these players is just nuts. Hockey players are awesome.
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 09:40 AM) At the end of the day, I think if any of the top 5 major teams win, the city goes crazy. No one in their right mind would argue hockey's place on the national stage but this city has absolutely fallen in love with the Hawks. Look at the sell out streak, ticket prices, tv ratings, whatever you want to look at, Chicago has been hockey crazy for a bit now.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 09:30 AM) The Illini run in 2005 was much bigger than either Hawks run. I will say the Hawks picked a perfect time to get good. Chicago sports is pretty awful right now. Do you even live in this city?
  5. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 01:00 AM) Well I'm doing it. Toews said keep the bars open as they will fill the Cup and share with the city. I am the city. Or something. BTW, reading about these injuries. Bickell strained knee, hence the breakup of 88/19/29...Hossa disc problem where he couldn't f***ing feel his foot while playing. Toews concussion Game 5 (why the f*** was he playing........................). Also Bergeron was apparently half dead and played. Jesus. I didn't think this one could even get close to 2010. And it couldn't. But f*** they way they pulled that off....this is sure something. f***ing ridiculous. Well if you want a friend and someone to embarrass you, you know how to reach me.
  6. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 12:50 AM) Next year, my friend. Although with the amount of jumping I do, I would have ended up in your place anyway. No need to run upstairs. I'm waiting to go out chasing the Cup at 3 or 4am. Because, hey, why not. Either rosemont or pony inn, we'll see. Goal: drink from the Cup this morning. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I said I'd answer the phone. Not sure about the funds... Still not arrested, you have no faith in me! Seriously the 3 am chase sounds like a great idea.
  7. Wrigley has been nuts. Krush already volunteered to bail me out of jail though, no worries!
  8. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 06:24 PM) If the Sox had kept AJ, they might be about 8 games out of first instead of 10½ games out. That would have been well worth the extra $7.5M to have a team that doesn't quite suck as much as the one we actually have. Exactly. Letting AJ go was absolutely the right move.
  9. I was at sportscorner in 2010 when they won it all, ill be there again tonight. End it tonight!!!!!
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 01:57 PM) Trading Deng for a 2014 draft pick would not be "White Flagging it" for this year given what the roster looks like right now. Butler can slide into Deng's starting role, they still have players in the backcourt, and they would have the MLE to fill in the gaps without doing long-term damage to their financial flexibility. That said, Steve continues to be right; the front office just isn't that aggressive. Ya...this, all of this.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 01:49 PM) I'm fine dumping Gibson. He's basically Noel right now, right? Plus defender and average (at best) offensively. For every highlight dunk Gibson gets he bricks 10 wide open 12 foot jumpers. I seriously hope last year was just a bad year for him. And if the Bulls are trading Deng for a prospect they're already raising the white flag on competing until 2014 (or more likely 2015). So you can be patient with Noel. But I agree, they have bigger needs. If they can get the #3 pick and get some frontcourt depth, that's the better move. White flagging 2014 would be really stupid.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 22, 2013 -> 04:22 PM) It looked like two guys who hate each other, who play for themselves refused to communicate and let it drop. The Royals announcer said he wouldn't put it all on DeAza because it looked like Rios didn't say a word calling for the ball. Obviously DeAza was a spastic in racing over there to begin with, and he has to take command as CF, but I get the feeling Rios isn't Mr. Communications either. I have no idea how that play makes you think that Rios and De Aza "hate each other." That's a ridiculous conclusion to come to.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2013 -> 11:04 AM) It went great. Came home with the car, she was all oogling over it and wanted to sit in the driver's seat and had this big smile on her face. I got down on a knee and said my little spiel. She was totally surprised, and very, very happy. We went out last night and celebrated with some friends of ours and had a great evening. Thanks for asking! Congrats buddy!
  14. My sources tell me that Crawford has been working extensively the last two days with Julie "The Cat" Gaffney, glove side wont be a problem tonight.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 08:04 PM) Well, went and did it again...traded in my Q5 for an Audi TT convertible...the girlfriend has always wanted a convertible, and I want my sports car back. I don't need the suv for the dogs anymore because she has a Honda Pilot that is paid off. Driving to SLC tomorrow to pick it up. Probably will take her for a spin when I get back tomorrow afternoon and pop the question...I think she'll be a happy girl...here's hoping she will anyways... How'd it go?
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 10:33 PM) Chicago craft beer festival, it was a ripoff but damn it got me to a solid drunk. I thought about going, instead I just demolished a case of rolling rock at home.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 06:21 PM) Haha, enjoyment retirement I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
  18. I never really liked Carlos but dude could definitely hit. Enjoy retirement, horse.
  19. Good job Jesse...keep upping that trade value! Seriously though, congrats to Crain on quite an accomplishment.
  20. Just keep losing...the idea of a top 5 pick kind of excites me. Go Hector though!
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 08:02 AM) The other thing people are forgetting about the Heat is that at least one, if not a couple quality ring-chasing veterans will sign with them for pennies this offseason. I'm not forgetting that but they're going to need Wade to be Wade next year. If he's not they will not win the championship. Taking nothing away from the Heat(well maybe a little ) but there were just stars everywhere that were injured. It should be a much better NBA next yr and if Wade isn't Wade then the Heat are going to be worse no matter what vets they pick up.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 02:05 AM) King of the f***ing sports world. So strange to be on the other side. Still wanna punch this dude in the face.
  23. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 12:37 AM) Meh, at least so far, give me Leonard by a decent margin. When Butler was playing basically the entire game, he was about as productive as Kawhi is in 30-35 minutes. Butler should be a solid 2, but Leonard looks like a fringe All-Star in the near future. Kawhi is so deceptively strong. He'll improve his offensive game soon enough because of that strength and he'll be one of the elite defenders in the game. I love Jimmy but Kawhi is and will be better through out his career.
  24. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 12:15 AM) Wade had an off post-season. His regular season numbers were elite. Which one is which? We'll see. Wade doesn't have to be '06 Wade for the Heat to win. But Rose has to be '11 Rose for the Bulls to have any chance at all. By the time next season rolls around, Rose will have not played in an NBA game in damn near 20 months. Forgive me if I question if he can get back to the same level in year 1. I'll believe it when I see it. You gotta remember too that the Bulls actually have a starting level NBA sg which they haven't had in this LeBron era. And once again, there's just no reason to believe that Derrick wont be himself, no matter how much I'm pissed off at the guy.
  25. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 12:13 AM) I wouldn't go that far, at least not at his current level of play. They'd have a HUGE hole inside, Leonard just isn't big enough to guard post players. He can get away with it against Miami because of their small lineup. Basically, they need just Bosh to be the guy he was in Toronto. Finding a cheap, productive player like him would be a huge boost to their roster though. Not to defend Bosh here but I feel his struggles are more a product of a system than they are of Bosh. And that's not a shot at Spo cause they have 2 titles but I feel if Bosh went else where, he'd be the Toronto guy again.
