*Official* Work Out Thread
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 03:01 PM) Depends on how fast or slow I decide to go. I can probably compact that down to 15 minutes, if necessary. Usually, I go for about 30-40 minutes, and maybe 10-20 minutes of cardio work. My workouts are never more than an hour, but always target only 1 bodypart per day...that way I can maximize the lesser amount of time I want to spend in the gym. More than one bodypart at that kind of time would be inadequate, but targeting just one gives me an awesome targeted workout. I've condensed my workouts down to about 40 minutes by adding super sets and drop sets. Higher intensity, less time in the gym. Perfect.

2012-2013 NBA thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 09:53 AM) That's just asinine. So is comparing Melo and Pippen given they are such completely different players. Ya, there can't be 2 guys that have played the same position that could be more polar opposites than Carmelo and Scottie are/were.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) completely disagree. HIIT is much more effective than running on an elliptical. Yes because it's higher intensity which means you're burning more calories. Doesn't mean that using an elliptical will lose effectiveness the more you use it. No matter how many times you use one, burning 300 calories is burning 300 calories.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 09:31 AM) Cardio is cardio guys. If it's elevating your heart rate, it doesn't matter if it's repetitive, that means it's working, it's burning calories...and that's all it's intended to do. You may become more used to the motion, and be capable of doing it faster or longer, but it's still working. Yeup. The whole calories in/calories out thing. Burning calories is burning calories whether it's a repetitive motion or not.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 10:18 PM) Eh, it's useless. The 90s Bulls are beyond comparison apparently. I'm pretty sure the records they have prove that the 90s Bulls are indeed beyond comparison.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jan 23, 2013 -> 10:16 PM) What's wrong with hot sauce? I thought hot foods kicked up your metabolism, or is that a myth? My legs sure do burn after getting off the treadmill so I've kinda shied away from leg work...But what else other than squats can I do with what I have for legs...and when should I do them? Do you have access to a gym or you just working out at home? But don't shy away from your legs, you'll be amazed at how much quicker you'll drop lbs by working your legs.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 23, 2013 -> 02:18 PM) The on in FFC, yes. You order online and just pick it up right in the entrance. It was super annoying before when you could only go there at certain times. If you ever want a membership at FFC let me know.

You need to hit your legs, man. And at some point you're going to have to clean up your diet too. For now since you can't buy your own food, just make sure you're having smaller portions.

Car Help Thread
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) Calling all car people. Have a car that's been sitting in a garage for 1.5 years and hasn't been started. Trying to sell it and get it up and running without spending a ridiculous amount doing so. Got the car jumped, let it run on it's own for a while (maybe 10 mins) with the cables off. Pressed the gas, car shut off immediately. Wouldn't start back up on its own. Jumped the car again, let it sit for a few minutes, started to drive it, and slowly it essentially started to shut itself down - lights started turning off, etc. Car wouldn't start on its own again. Is this a battery issue? Alternator issue? Is there an easy way to test this? Or, could it be that there is bad gas in there (less than 1/4 tank) and that's causing things to malfunction? I asked a few others and the first thought was to get a few gallons of good gas in there and try that before having it towed somewhere and diagnosing from there. If anyone has any advice it's much appreciated. Speaking of car issues...did you ever get our free beer from dude 7 years ago?!?!?!?
