  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) It's become obvious to me, in my opinion, that the Sox going 3-7 out of the ASB might be the best thing for this organization. It would force KW to go into sell mode. Yes. Obviously I'm not going to complain about an 8-2 or 9-1 stretch but right now this team falling flat on their collective faces to start the 2nd half is the best thing for this organization as a whole imo. That being said, we'll probably start about 6 and 4, causing more standing pat.

Anyone ever been to Country Thunder before? I'm not even that big of a country fan but the whole 4 days straight of partying thing kind of sold me.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 10:40 AM) The entire White Sox pitching staff had a good year. How many of the guys in that bullpen are playing today? Jenks and Marte are the only guys still on ML rosters and neither is good. Jose Contreras had one good half after 05 and was mediocre to bad as a starter afterwards. Freddy Garcia struggled to throw 90 after that season and hasn't had a full season with an ERA under 4.5 since. Jon Garland has struggled to to have an ERA below 4.5 as well. Buehrle is the only guy that has been reliable and fairly consistent since that season. It was a roster of a lot of mediocre pitchers that all turned out great seasons. Eh, the starting rotation was pretty damn good actually. Garcia was a very good pitcher up until that point and Contreras had clearly turned the proverbial corner. If he had not got injured in 06, he was proving to be just as dominant. The only pitcher that imo pitched in the rotation who was better than he probably should have been was Jon Garland.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 06:27 AM) How did you see it if you had no power? Everyone around our subdivision seems to have power. Of course we still don't. My mom and I ended up going to my grandmas last night so we could at least watch tv. When we got back at about 11 our power was back on though. If you can, PM me the site I need to go to, gracias.
  5. QUOTE (OilCan @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 10:10 PM) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I hate Cena. Cena was pretty solid tonight. Still too damn corny in the last segment but thankfully Punk cut him off and was masterful again on the mic. The Red Sox-Yankees comparison was so on the money and so f***in awesome. Loved the ice cream bars reference too. They really do need to bring those back.

It's pretty insane how far Dayan's plate discipline has come in just one year. The kid is not only loaded with talent but apparently very willing to make adjustments, great combination.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 06:06 PM) With it being more entertainment and less wrestling, the uber face will never lose clean. Wouldn't make sense in storytelling in Vince's eyes. Sucks. Where you sitting next Sunday?
  8. This is seriously just absolutely f***in ridiculous that Dayan is still in Charlotte.
  9. Can we also just blatantly ignore the fact that Pierre has cost us 3 ballgames directly because of his glove work?
  10. It's pretty absurd just how many times White Sox players have been on this damn thing.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) Im not really sure you can definitively say who is the better defensive player, from my eyes its Rios, but other people say Lilli. This year you can imo. Like I said, Alex definitely has the track record but this season and this season alone, Brent has been the better cf.
  12. Lilli has been by bar the best defensive cf on the team this year, I don't even think that's up for debate. Obviously Alex has the track record but this year, it's no contest.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 12:01 PM) I know Rosie is a terrible actress in Transformers 3, but goodness, she's good looking in some of those outfits. I do not find her attractive at all.

I guess I look at it the other way, just cause other similar cases haven't been reported doesn't mean you shouldn't care about this one. It's a disgusting crime and I can't understand how someone wouldn't care.
  15. QUOTE (since56 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 05:12 AM) He didn't succeed enough to stick now did he? Really?
  16. Was just looking at pitching stats, does Bartolo f***in Colon really have an era under 3? What the f***?
  17. Dayan is just stupid good.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 06:19 PM) Nobody. And very few were "sure" what we'd get out of Sergio. Certainly nobody was predicting 16/18 or 17/19 in saves, whatever he has. On the other hand, if you put up the numbers for Dunn/Rios/Beckham/Jackson/Danks (W-L) (and Thornton) at this point, you'd have to guess we were 6-12 games under .500 and on the verge of breaking the team apart. Say what you will, KW always seems to come up with guys like Humber or Sergio on the cheap...enough to almost offset the "big/bad" moves. And 7-1 in Peavy starts? That's a bit unexpected as well. Konerko is most deserving, along with Humber and then Sergio. Alexei would have been on the outside of the conversation about 2-3 weeks ago. Same with Carlos. If you looked at it based on positional value, Alexei is probably the most deserving.
  19. We actually have about a handful of guys who can make a solid case for an all star selection, Humber is definitely one of them.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 10:15 PM) The musical episode was the worst. There ya go. I freaking loved scrubs(insert joke by Krush or snb) but that musical episode plus the princess bride episode might have been the 2 worst of the series.
  21. Can I ask what makes Juan Pierre a leadoff hitter at this point? I'm seriously tired of hearing: "who is going to lead off if it's not Pierre?" Do we need to replace his awful obp, 50 percent steal percentage, what the hell are we replacing and why the f*** is he still considered a lead off hitter?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:58 PM) I disagree, Michael is a pompous religious nerd who has a closed mind because of his relatively small amount of life experience. He's a douche. Leroy is cool. Agreed 100 percent. First time I ever watched real world because I fell in love with that Heather chick but ya, Michael is such a b****.
  23. Dayan homers in game 2.
  24. Mark Buehrle has been very Mark Buehrle-esque this season.
