QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 09:33 AM) Got up at 4 this morning to go see Coldplay at the Rockefeller Center. Queue was a wrapped around a whole block at 5:20AM when me and a buddy got there, but we managed to get in anyways. Great show even if they only played 6 songs. Have you gotten used to the time change yet?

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 01:56 AM) Fresh Prince should be higher than it is. Ya, I agree. I have no right to b**** as I didn't make a list, but Fresh Prince and South Park are two of my favorite shows of all time.
-
So I really want McDonald's breakfast but I left my car at my buddies house last night which is all the way across town. Life's rough...
-
I think we're going to regret not drafting CDR. PS Rose is supposedly throwing out the first pitch today, it'll be kinda cool to see him rocking a Sox jersey.
-
Joe's definitely struggling. Makes it worse that he keeps ending innings with God jr. on deck.
-
Maybe Crede can walk so Alexei can bat with the bases loaded?
-
Danks awesome again, era down to 2.62 now, that's sick. Time for Dotel/Matt-Liney-Bobby and lets take this series.
-
If I would have made a list, South Park and The Fresh Prince would have definitely been high up there. Great choices.

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 10:59 AM) i would melt ^^^ That'd be the most amazing thing ever.

QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 08:42 PM) Jerry Manuel has become a bad ass. Ya, seriously, what the hell happened to him?

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/...tory?id=3459696 I would trade #2 and Blount for the #5, Mike Miller, and Mike Conley. Then trade Marion and the #5 pick to the Clippers for Brand and the #7 pick. Trade Haslem to the Magic for the #22 and filler. Draft Brook Lopez at #7, draft best available talent at #22. PG. Conley, Banks SG. Wade, Cook SF. Miller, Wright PF. Brand, #22 pick C. Lopez, Mourning Yes please. That just made my head hurt. That's a lot of moving around. But if you guys can some how grab Conley and B. Lopez(who I believe is the 3rd best player in this draft) then obviously getting Brand and Miller is pretty freaking good as well, that's a pretty nice haul. Very confusing but very good.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) I still think they should have left CP3 or Williams at home to bring another big guy, like Tyson Chandler. What is the object of having 3 PGs on one team? BTW, I like the addition of Kidd- he was on the 2000 team so it brings some more experience. I think this team will still win the gold. Williams is about a gajillion times better than Kidd at this point, not sure why you'd want Jason over Deron. -
Well I'll go on record saying that Rose will have much more of an impact than Beasley and I think Beasley is going to be a pretty damn good player. Now if it's true that Miami is thinking about taking Mayo over Beasley, well that's just retarded.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) It's not his fault he gets taken out after 6 innings every freakin time. Most of the time it has been his fault, cause he's had extremely high pitch counts. I'm not knocking him, he's been fantastic this season but he definitely hasn't been economic with his pitches.
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 01:40 AM) And Gavin Floyd is actually not doing that good. Look at his BB/K and BB/IP. His ERA really should be mid to upper 3's. I do agree with Danks though. That's just ridiculous. Yes, his bb/k and bb/ip numbers need some work but when you have a 3.19 era and a 1.10 whip, you're definitely doing pretty well. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 05:35 AM) I honestly think John Danks is our most deserving player at the moment. It's not his fault the offense betrays him. I love Danks and he's been great but it really would be nice if he could pitch into the 7th inning some time. That's the one thing that's holding him back a bit..

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 07:15 PM) Also, I have a question... why does Mark Buehrle get a free pass when indeed he has been our worst starter? I'm not saying he should be traded or anything and he is still the clubs no. 2, but he has, well lets put it, the least. Cause he's been good for a long ass time. He got off to a rough start but most people figured he'd turn it around like he is right now.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 05:50 PM) Speaking of Brenly...anybody catch Greenstein's column the other day grading the broadcast teams? He said about DJ: I shot him an email that said: You lost me right there. Listening to DJ is like having a little parrot next to Hawk the whole game...all he does is repeat Hawk. They should name this duo..."Bird Brains...Hawk and his Parrot". I got a big "Well Alrighty then..." back. Pssh. DJ's great.

Obviously I havent seen Alexei play that much short but by watching him play 2nd(good range, great arm), it appears that he could definitely handle the position. I'm thinking that's where he'll be, maybe as early as next season.
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) People need to let Row go. Embrace Brian as the younger, sexier, lower batting average but better fielding Rowand. You shut your mouth. Lies and slander.
-
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) After this week the Sox could be down for the count.... Or knowing this team they'll go on a 5 or 6 game winning streak where we get a decent cushion again.
-
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) I know he was good last season, but if we're counting this season, he's been an average to below average pitcher 4 out of the last 5 years. How in the world is he get labeled as our ace? Even with his recent struggles he has a 4.24 era and a better than 3-1 k to bb ratio. In the American League, that's well above average.

Mariotti cowers when writer confronts him at Wrigley
Rowand44 replied to palehose23's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Does this surprise anyone? Mariotti is a coward, period. -
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) We know, we know. But honestly, nobody besides you and Tony support that BS. To now be now 17-23 on the road after we were just 17-14 on the road is fantastic, right? To now be only 1.5 games up after just being 6.5 games up is fine, right? To not be able to open a local newspaper, flip on a local sports news station, or even ESPN itself is good, right? To hear it from a bunch of yuppy-f***s is fine, right? Sweet. It's OK guys. We're fine. As long as we're in first, it's cool. Even if we lose 10 in a row with an 11 game lead is fine, too, right? Please, they're far from the only 2 who believe that. This team certainly has issues but if you're biggest problem is that ESPN is going to bash our team then you need to stop following sports. Who gives a s*** what the morons from ESPN or the local radio stations think?
