  1. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 10:27 AM) where are you living? I am in the NW burbs of Chicago and didnt feel anything. Ya, I'm in Carbondale. Just opened my fridge and things started to shake.
  2. Well I just talked to one of our neighbors and I guess it really shook things up around here. My roommates and I all slept through it, that's how drunk we were I guess.
  3. I guess I was passed out, cause I felt nothing.

    I'm such a dumbass.
  5. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) well that lineup has been used 9 times, 10 if you count today. IN 2007 our most common lineup was used 7 times. In '06 21 times. '05 was 6 times, and '04 was 4 games. so only 11 games left to go. thank you baseball-reference. That's pretty crazy actually.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 01:20 PM) I rip on Fields a bit more than most (although I am fully aware of his upside which power wise, he could be a legit middle of the order bat) but there is absolutely no way I'd trade Fields for anything less than a superstar/impact guy (Fields alone wouldn't be enough) or a high upside young player (ie, Linnecum/Cain/etc). Not for a 2nd baseman on the wrong side of 30. I really like Josh but I'd trade him for a young high upside starting pitcher(so basically what you said) but that's it.
  7. Brian Roberts would literally be the perfect link for this offense right now but imo we'd probably have to give up way to much for him. And by that, I mean Josh Fields.
  8. This is a huge start for Mr. Floyd. He's proven that he owns Detroit but we need to see him pitch well against some other teams as well. Keep it up, Gavin.
  9. Sox SIU basketball Dolphins Bulls And I'm going to put the Blackhawks here as I'm trying to follow them more but I really don't think I can claim to be that big of a fan yet.
  10. Might interest some IU fans as well as SIU fans: http://ilprepbullseye.com/page5.html Brian, this article stole your info, ha.
  11. It'd be so reassuring to have Danks throw 2 good games in a row.

  13. A lot. This kid is just talented as all hell, he's going to go through some tough stretches this year though. He's going to be an all star down the road imo.
  14. Obviously it's only 23 ab's but Ankiel is slugging .826 right now, that's a decent start.
  15. QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) I have to disagree with this. We've already won the series, so if Ozzie wants to rest a starter or two, tonight is the night to do it. The fact that it's on national TV shouldn't matter. I wouldn't have a problem with Ozzie playing our usual lineup, but I definitely don't want to see Bobby or Linebrink out there tonight. Those guys need a day off. I disagree with this line of thinking. Just cause we've won the series doesn't make todays game any less important than tomorrows.
  16. QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) So explain why Toby "I Can't Hit for Crap" Hall was in the lineup against a division rival yesterday. It's a long season and you want to give your players (especially aging, injury-prone veterans) a day off on occasion. Does JD need a day off? No. But it'd be nice to give him a break, since we've already won the series. It'd also be nice to work some of our over-crowded outfield into the lineup. Catching is a lot different than rf.
  17. Danks and Gavin. I expect the offense and bullpen to be very good, I'm not sure about those two(plus JC) though. If those two are some what reliable, this is going to be a fun season.
  18. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 09:45 AM) However, he's already had a ton of opportunities, and he's been right where he's been needed each and everytime. He's easily as good a CF'er as the overrated Aaron Rowand out there. I'd be careful with that comparison.
  19. People really need to stop worrying about Jenks' ability. Yes, he's obviously an injury concern but if he's pitching, he's one of the best closers in baseball. The guy just flat out gets it done whether he's throwing 92 or 100.
