QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:54 PM) I must be drunk. This is what I like to call the ssi71 special.

So who thinks this should be the regular lineup? Thome out of the lineup and AJ in the 4 hole.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:40 PM) I say it because no one else will. If he's to fix his career he's to make serious mental and physical adjustments that he hasn't shown himself capable of making in the last year. Which a lot and lot and lot and lot and lot and lot and lot(you get the point) of young players don't realize and aren't capable in a whole 400 ab's.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:36 PM) He should be getting ABs in AAA. What I was saying -- and I think it was clear -- is that he has never made adjustments. Always has had the same crap approach and crap swing. Probably always will. He's never had to. He's hit at every level before he came up to the majors. It's clear that he needs to make adjustments and eventually he'll find out that he does need to. However, when you've had success a certain way all your life, it's hard to convince yourself to make changes.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) His stance reminds me somewhat of ARow but I always thought that Aaron did a better job of keeping his head down and on the ball when he was hitting well. I'd like to see a fundamental change to his stance, cause I have no idea how he can generate any power. That being said, I still love the golden locks. It's the little dip/hitch, whatever you wanna call it that he does that makes his swing pretty ugly. He can actually be pretty quick to the ball, unfortunately he makes things harder on himself.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) Give me a break. He had the same crap approach last year, too, and he had all of the first half and significant parts of the second half to make adjustments. It isn't playing time -- he's either uncoachable, suffering from bad coaching or simply an all-around mediocre baseball player. What did Keith say that was wrong? We've all known since Brian came up that his swing was pretty damn ugly, but he did make some strides offensively in the 2nd half, he has/had a ways to go but he did improve a bit. Getting one start a week is only going to make things worse, so don't pretend like it doesn't. You give a guy with a long swing only occasional at bats and that swing is just going to get longer, it's that simple. Brian needs to be in aaa right now.

Nice to see Erstad hitting, hopefully he can get in a bit of a hot streak.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:15 PM) Just woke up from a nap.. Is there ANYONE that DOESNT overmatch Brian Anderson? I mean seriously...either put him back in AAA, or ship him off. Felix Hernandez.

Can someone provide an update/pbp for a bit? Gameday has completely died.

Stupid, idiotic commercials.
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 07:46 PM) YOU ASSHOLE I can't believe he found that damn thing, I thought it was dead forever. Way to bring back bad memories, Steve.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 07:11 PM) f***ing yahoo. did Sean Casey homer in the 10th inning or not? I don't think so. MLB Gameday did the same thing, it had it as 10-8 Tigers now it says 8-8. Well I think the Angels won now.

Alex Rodriguez on pace for 126 homers
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) Obviously pitching to ARod is working for the opponent considering the Yankees will soon be in last place. Maybe sacrificing a run or two by pitching to Alex puts you in a better position than putting him on and having Giambi or Cano knock in 3-4 runs. Eh, they're still leading the league in runs, their pitching just blows.

Journey is back baby
Haha, good stuff from Ozzie.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 12:08 AM) I like the way Ozzie yelled at Sisco for walking people. Seems like the taller the pitcher is, the tougher it is to throw strikes. I think all these tall guys should get extended stints in the minors till they learn to pitch like Randy Johnson did. What good is Sisco if he can't pitch without walking people?? Sisco does need to work on his control(as do a lot of young pitchers) but he was probably a bit nervous facing off against his old team and he might have been over throwing a bit.

Are we finally done.....
QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 03:49 AM) IIRC didn't he bat 3 or 4 in Japan? I wouldn't blame this all on Ozzie, Iguchi seemed to want to make the switch as well. If this was by his request/suggestion, and Ozzie gave him a chance, It won't be the worst experiment that a manager ever tried. If we had an adequate replacement for Gooch in the 2 hole, I'd actually like to see the experiment last a bit longer. Unfortunately, we don't and Tad is a very good number 2 hitter and that's where he should be hitting.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) Travis Hafner is also good. 4 for 4, 2 walks and some runs involved Having ARod, Bonds and Pronk on my fantasy team is very cool at the moment.

Encouraging news on Jenks
Good to hear that he's regaining some velocity. Even with out him throwing 98 though, I wouldn't worry too much about the guy. He seems to be able to tough out saves for the most part. There are definitely other things on this team that I'm far more worried about than Bobby.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) Thank god. Is every game going to end in an adventure? Yup. Not a problem as long as we win though.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 10:39 PM) I am the same way, although I really do like Ortiz. He just seems to have a blast with the game. I have no problem with Ortiz, and I really don't even have a problem with Manny besides the Manny being Manny crap. I absolutely despise Josh Beckett and Curt Schilling though. 2004 made me absolutely hate all things Red Sox, they're by far my most hated team in baseball.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 10:38 PM) I understand there isn't as much to talk about when the Sox win, but I love that this thread will be 35-40 posts, and a White Sox loser will bring to 200+ Haha. Great to see Paul have a fantastic game, hopefully he can start some kind of hot streak. It would sure be nice to have a hot bat beyond Jimmy. Lets hope Vaz can keep it going tomorrow.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 06:51 PM) Alex did it again today. He is amazing. He's awesome. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) Indeed. Too bad he's a Yank, cause I absolutely love Arod the player. Eh, that doesn't bother me. Now, if he were on Boston...Yuck.
