Brian Anderson
QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 02:15 PM) Well, Mack is a pretty fluid OFer in his own right, and normally, has a much shorter swing. We have enough long, loopy swings in the lineup, and even though I'm a pretty big BA fan, I'm all for playing the guy that is getting on base. They both play damn good defense. I have absolutely 0 problem with Mack in left field, in fact, I love Mack in left. Brian should be playing center right now, period.

MARK BUEHRLE HAS PITCHED A NO-HITTER!
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 07:08 AM) Buerhle was incredible. The last 3 innings he was even better than the first six. It was total domination. On the way home we listened to the postgame call-ins. Someone said it was the best game Buerhle pitched in a while. Gee, do you think? Its probably the best pitched game I have ever seen. The ball Blalock hit to the wall was the only one really hit all that hard, and even that was a high flyball that I think got a push from the wind. Hairston looked safe at the park, but seeing the replay when I got home, he definitely looked out. Iguchi made a real nice play, and Uribe made a nice play with Konerko making a scoop on the end of it. Haha, that's awesome. You guys wouldn't believe how many random people came up to me last night at the bars just to talk about Buehrle, crazyness.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) Anderson is not the answer. You don't know that, nobody knows. Unfortunately, we probably wont find out while he's in a White Sox uniform.

Fire Greg Walker
I'm certainly not opposed to firing Walker, cause like Kalapse said, I think at first it'll give the offense a bit of a jump start. That being said, Walk or no Walk in a few years, I bet this club is having the same problems offensively.

Podsednik to DL, Boone Logan Recalled
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 05:10 PM) Are we even sure Rowand is all that great against lefties? He was beyond terrible against them last season. Like .222 AVG/.304 OBP bad. So how long until someone starts up the "Rowand to the Sox?" thread? Well sir...touche. I personally remember him being much better against lefties, I obviously follow what he does a whole of a lot less now, cause I just really don't care about the Phillies.

Podsednik to DL, Boone Logan Recalled
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 05:00 PM) I have a frightening thought for you. Its halloween scary. What if Boone is up to show he can get major leaguers out, to tempt the Phillies to send over Ozzies favorite grinder. They need bullpen pitching, like they are digging off the scrap heap right now. I like Boone as much as anyone and I've had my fun making fun of all the Aaron rumors too, but right now, with the way we hit left handers, would having Aaron back be the worst thing in the world?

Podsednik to DL, Boone Logan Recalled
Pods is done, which we all knew but maybe the organization will catch on now. I'm hoping Ozzie kind of slowly brings Boone along now instead of throwing him right into the fire like last year(you know what I'm talking about). As for left, I honestly like all options better than Pods, I wont be angry which ever route Ozzie takes here.

I need your help!
I moved your first post into the diamond club. If you want to make fun of the Cubs, this isn't the place to do so.

Brian Anderson: New Thread
IMO he should be starting and hitting 9th. If not, he should be in AAA getting at bats everyday, this is especially true if he's not even going to get into games as a defensive replacement, in say oh...the 9th inning of a game in Oakland. He is being used so wrong right now, it's ridiculous.

33 Dead After Virginia Tech University Shooting
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) I understand that everyone is going to be extremely concerned with this happening, but this type of thing is so rare that you shouldn't change the way you act/feel about your security or be wary of keeping your doors unlocked/holding the door for someone. I'm not trying to sound like a jagoff, but I'll be going to bed tonight with the door unlocked as always. And I'll walk to class tomorrow and right into the building without hesitation. You can't let something like this change the way you live your life. Agreed. Anytime this stuff happens it's obviously extremely sad but I wont let it change how I live my life, ever. Maybe that's just me being stubborn but that's how I feel.

Brian Anderson and winter ball again...
PK and JD will be fine. I'm decently confident that AJ will at least be ok this season with the bat, I honestly don't have a ton of faith in Joe or the top of the order. Also, as good as Juan is hitting right now, we all know he is going to go through his streaks, be it up or down. As far as our offense, I basically have confidence in 3-5 and Iguchi, besides that, I'm just not sure what to expect.

Brian Anderson and winter ball again...
QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 10:15 AM) Who the hell cares about Brian Andersen. He is nothing, he will not get us to the playoffs nor might he be anything other than what he is. I know people like him because he is young, a surfer dude, who acts kool, but the guy is a non entity. Really who cares. Move on he is a fringe player. Most of us care about Brian because we believe he is the best option we have to play center and he's got completely raw deal here. Simple enough?

And That's A White Sox Loser
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) Greg Walker = fired (hopefully) Was Eduardo Perez signed by anybody? If not, we should sign him up, trade Mack for a right-handed hitting OF who can play center, and send Anderson down so he's not rotting on the bench. Then when we fire Greg Walker we can go through the same crap with another hitting coach. Even with the bats completely well...sucking right now, I got a much better feeling about this team than last years.

Sympathy, action are in short supply
I like how Ozzie has wanted a team based around pitching and defense, yet all the sudden it doesn't matter that we had one of the best CF's in baseball out there for us. I guess having a great defensive player at one of the most important defensive positions isn't that important.
-
Sympathy, action are in short supply
Seriously, wtf has Brian done to Ozzie? I just don't get it.

The Devil (or Guillen's) Advocate (also criticisms)
QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 08:07 PM) I don't know if you were around in the 80's and 90's or if you just jumped in 5 years ago or so, but I have seen too many mediocre seasons. Ozzie brought in a ring his second year, and has fielded solid teams since he became manager. Nothing you crybabies say will change my view. Ouch man, that one hurts. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) I don't even hate Ozzie or want him fired. I just wish he would drop the stubborn bulls***, the childish attitude and the personal vendettas. Which wont ever happen.
