QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 26, 2007 -> 12:14 AM) I want Frank for it to be against us too, even if its a game deciding run.... its just 1 game and Frank can have 1 game to hit the milestone in my opinion.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 26, 2007 -> 01:21 AM) I like my action heroes less puffy. Ya, well it's 1:22 in the morning and there is nothing on tv. So puffy will have to do for now.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 11:07 PM) St. Joseph's would be the last "mid-major" team to get such a high seed, would they not? All depends on how you define mid major. I'm not going back into that whole thing again but I guess you can make a case for Memphis being a mid major because of their conference and they were a one last season. Anywho, I'm with Brian, I really can't see us getting a 2, I think the highest we'll be able to get is a 3, which would be awesome as well. Wait and See. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 01:14 AM) Justin Bocot was at our game today: http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/vie...mp;pr_key=46494 Very interesting as we don't have a 2007 scholarship remaining. "I just came back from a visit to Southern Illinois this past weekend," Bocot said. "Everything there went really good. I like how they always play hard, and how the campus is set up. All the computer labs and resources for academics are all in one location. The campus overall was pretty nice too." "I'll probably commit to them soon. It should be within the next week or two. I do still plan to visit Iowa officially next month though." ----------------------------- Kind of a weird situation. His comments are very odd as he says he's going to commit here but he's planning on visiting Iowa. What makes the whole situation strange is as I said in the first post, we don't have a scholarship for next season available. Could mean someone is leaving the team by transfer or early graduation, very interesting none the less. EDIT: Well, he cancelled his trip to Iowa and now has verballed here: Southern Illinois dipped into the 2007 talent pool and found itself a high-scoring wing guard. Justin Bocot, a 6-foot-3 standout from Bloomington (Ill.) High, committed to the Salukis Sunday night. Bocot told Scout.com that he visited SIU this past weekend and has cancelled a trip to Iowa. At the end of the day, Bocot passed on bigger interests and pledged to the program that showed the most consistent commitment to recruiting him. “It was a lot (of big schools) but they really weren’t showing me interest earlier so I stayed away from them,” Bocot said. “I’ve been talking to (SIU) since my freshman year. They were interested then and still are.” Who wouldn’t be? Bocot averaged 21 points as a senior. He wreaked havoc on the AAU circuit in a bucket-making role with Ft. Sooy No Limit. Bocot, who indicated he’s doing well in core classes and is on target to qualify, may redshirt his first season regardless. “I think I’m going to sit out my first year and get bigger and stronger. I won’t lose any eligibility.” Given last year’s tournament success and the proceeding higher-profile this year for the Missouri Valley, more and more top notch prospects see the league as a viable option straight out of high school. “Some people go for the name on the jersey and don’t look into the program. I looked into the program and they had a real good program.” This is a great get for us.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 08:48 PM) Thanks fellers. BTW, Justin, I need some advice on SIU in College Hoops. Some of their guys don't seem to be rated properly, and I like adjusting 'em to make their ratings a little more semi-realistic. So you might get a PM in the next couple days. Haha, sounds good. Just send a pm my way whenever. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) When do most of the league toureys start? This week? I know the BE tourney doesn't start until next Monday because MU plays Pitt this Saturday. So -- the next two weeks, I assume, are conference tourneys? Anyone have a breakdown, ie which ones are this week and which are next week? http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/9986853 -

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 02:12 AM) I'd have to say that Tennessee locked up a bid with their win today against Arkansas. They have a couple bad losses (South Carolina, Auburn), but too many good wins (Vandy, Memphis, Texas, OK St, Kentucky, Alabama) to not be in. I know I'm biased, but watch out for them come tourney time. Lofton can really light it up! You guys are in. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 01:11 AM) And if your looking for a mid major final 4 team, check out Nevada. They have bigs, guards, depth, experience.....they could do it with the right bracket. I love them offensively, hate them defensively though. They're a talented team no doubt, but I don't think they defend well enough to make a run through a region, jmo. -

We were even commented on by Hawk and Wimpy...who laughed and said "That ain't right..." Here's an article about what we did: http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_...21/ai_n10416292 LOL, awesome Ribbie.

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 11:23 AM) Hey Rowand or any of you other MVC fans, what do you think about Indiana States chances next year with 4 of their 5 starters returning. They are also getting Clayton Vette, a 6'9" center out of Iowa who is supposedly pretty damn good. I'm not sure who else their picking up as I have not found a site that covers ISU or even MVC recruiting. Thanks. They'll be competitive but I still don't think you're going to see them in the top 3 or 4 like some of their fans seem to believe. Another thing with them to pay attention to is that it looks like Waltman is going to be gone so we'll see if all their players/recruits stay or if they go somewhere else. Both ISU's in the Valley have a chance to be pretty solid next season(I personally think the Redbirds will be better than the Sycs), problem for some of those teams is that SIU and Creighton aren't going anywhere, WSU will be back in contention next year, Bradley is going to be a player again in the league race. There are a lot of seniors leaving from Valley as a whole, so the league is going to be much different, I just can't see InSu finishing in the top 3-4, not yet. They'll definitely be competitive though.
