QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) I saw Carlton Fay play 3 times during a tournament up here near NIU (it was during break, but I made the short drive from home in Aurora to see it). He is really, really good, typical mid major big man and you guys will love him down there. He even has decent range on the jumper too. We're certainly excited about him.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:52 PM) Here is an article on junior Kyle Kuric, a 6-4 guard from Evansville Memorial HS (my alma mater). He's currently being recruited by Purdue, Indiana, Southern Illinois, Evansville and Butler, among others. Tigers Kuric has passion for game He's been at two of our games, definitely someone we're looking hard at. With our 3 verbals we only have one scholarship left though for 08, so we'll see what happens.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 05:15 PM) Unless his final brackets have gone into the tank in the past couple of years, I don't see how one can see he is a terrible bracketologist As I've said earlier in this thread, he's no better or worse than the majority who try to do it. There are some out there who have had maybe a few seed lines closer than him by the end of his projections but he's certainly not awful. -
That was entertaining.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) Why should the Big Ten be given more than three teams? At the moment, they really shouldn't. They'll get 4 though, Illinois will get in. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:54 PM) Why would you guys be rooting for NIU?? Oh, and weren't there SIU fans on this board questioning whether Chris Lowery had lost his team only a month or two ago? UNI And because if they would have won, we would have clinched at least a share of the Valley title and the 1 seed in St. Louis. As far as CLo, I don't think anyone said he lost the team(I know I didn't) but there has definitely been questions about his offensive coaching abilities, as we've had trouble running an offense against a zone. The guy is a tremendous recruiter and overall a great coach, I hope we can some how keep him around for a while. -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:12 PM) That SIU/Butler game is on national tv, correct? Hmm.. So, we lost to Butler but beat SIU. Go Salukis, I suppose, but for christs sake just beat Purdue and Michigan. Ya, espn 2 at 3. -

Creighton wins. We're still a game up with 2 remaining and we have the tie breaker, so barring a major collapse we got this now. Now we get a break from the Valley schedule and take on Butler, Saturday, I can't wait to get to Indy. -

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 09:09 PM) Huge W. I was hard on Jamal Tatum at the beginning of the year, but I will never bash that guy again with his play the last few games. Come on Northern Iowa! That was a brutal f***in performance against a real good team in a place we never win, and we pulled it out. I don't even know what to say at the moment, I'm f***in pumped, hell yesssssssss. I'm watching the UNI game, down 2 at the first official T.O. in the 2nd half. CMon Panthers!!! -

Both KU and Wiscy are fantastic defensive teams. Both rank in the top 10 in points allowed per possession, KU is actually a tad better according to that stat(just one stat, but a good one). I'm sorry, but this makes no sense tOSU has more top 50 wins than KU while KU has more top 100 wins, Wiscy easily has the best resume out of the 3 but KU definitely has the best win of the bunch and to be honest, you can easily compare them to OSU in terms of resume's This is just a bad argument. If KU and Wiscy played each other in the tournament I'd be picking Wiscy but to act as if Wiscy and OSU are so much better than KU is just wrong imo. -

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 05:41 PM) Missouri State is good, but even if they were bad, SIU Always plays bad at Missouri State. It is almost like a sure loss. Hopefully we can change that tonight. Ya, that. Nothing behind it besides what Brian said. I will say that I'm pretty surprised to see us getting that many points but I figured Mo State would be a few point favorite. -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) So have I, and I think the Big 12 is vastly over rated. 1-12 the conference stinks imo but A&M can play with anyone, that's a great team. -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) Now who as A&M beaten outside of the Big 12? Absolutely nobody. I'm not arguing who has the best resume, but I've seen all these teams play numerous times and A&M is the best of the bunch imo. -

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) Big 12 has two good teams Big 10 has two good teams. the rest suck in both leagues. Kstate also has Bob Huggins who is much better view than Cranky McCranky. IU says hi. -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) Big 10's 2 best teams > Big 12 2 best teams By a pretty sizable margin. Kansas would be 3rd in the Big 10, A&M 4th or 5th (thats including Kansas). Wisconsin and OSU would be 1,2 in the Big 12. A&M is better than both Wiscy and tOSU. KU is the 4th best out of that bunch though imo. -
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) I think the bullpen is the most positive thing on this team... I mean they have lots of potential. I love our bullpen and bench. That being said, everything is dependant on the starting pitching.

Wouldn't get my hopes up for Brandenburg. He'd be a fantastic get and I'd much rather have him than Thompson but I'm just not counting on it. But yes, CLo continues to recruit extremely well and Roundtree basically recruited Booker for us which is pretty damn cool. -

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) Then I love Tatum, Falker is just a bruiser. SIU is the best team to come out of the MVC in the last 10 years, i think they are a lock for at least elite 8. Who are you and what did you do with Jimbo? You're scaring me.
