Ever been on TV?
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 08:36 PM) During a White Sox game my bubby and I were on camera A LOT and then we were featured on Sportscenter and local TV because of our antics towards Jamie Navarro during a game in 1998. We were even commented on by Hawk and Wimpy...who laughed and said "That ain't right..." Here's an article about what we did: http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_...21/ai_n10416292 LOL, awesome Ribbie.

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 11:23 AM) Hey Rowand or any of you other MVC fans, what do you think about Indiana States chances next year with 4 of their 5 starters returning. They are also getting Clayton Vette, a 6'9" center out of Iowa who is supposedly pretty damn good. I'm not sure who else their picking up as I have not found a site that covers ISU or even MVC recruiting. Thanks. They'll be competitive but I still don't think you're going to see them in the top 3 or 4 like some of their fans seem to believe. Another thing with them to pay attention to is that it looks like Waltman is going to be gone so we'll see if all their players/recruits stay or if they go somewhere else. Both ISU's in the Valley have a chance to be pretty solid next season(I personally think the Redbirds will be better than the Sycs), problem for some of those teams is that SIU and Creighton aren't going anywhere, WSU will be back in contention next year, Bradley is going to be a player again in the league race. There are a lot of seniors leaving from Valley as a whole, so the league is going to be much different, I just can't see InSu finishing in the top 3-4, not yet. They'll definitely be competitive though.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 02:24 AM) I'm not falling for that Memphis trap BS after what they did to my bracket last year. Yeesh, you guys are rough on a team that made it to the elite 8. It's not like they lost in the 2nd round.

Would KW sign Zambrano?
If Zambrano would 'settle' for a 5 year deal then I hope Kenny would be all over that and throw billions of dollars at Zambrano.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) Regardless, it's still hard to judge a team that plays against such weak competition. Where would C-USA rank among conference in America? Does it even crack the top ten? I'm in no way speaking 'ill' of Memphis, I'm just saying it's hard to tell how great they really are. There's no denying that their schedule blows. Just have to watch them play and make your own judgements, certainly can't go off who've they played. I've seen Memphis a bunch and I personally think they're a very, very good team.

Big Year for Vazquez?
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 01:46 PM) You know I'm going to disagree with that, and that's just why you said it I like McCarthy - not as much as you, but I do - but I figure Vazquez will be better, and I think Danks will too. Of course. Nah, you know how much I like Brandon though so I figured if I can defend Brandon AND disagree with wite, then it's a must.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 01:49 PM) i thought the same last year and picked them to go to the final four. thus, my skepticism this year is mostly residual bitterness over them blowing apart my bracket. They did make the elite 8, I'm sure there were many factors that 'blew apart your bracket' rather than an elite 8 team that didn't make the final four. Memphis is good, very good. They have athletes all over the floor, they can go down low and they can shoot, not to mention that they're terrific defensively.

Big Year for Vazquez?
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 01:08 PM) The NL hit more homers in 1998, but had more teams too. We can throw stats back and forth all day and nothing will come of it. At some point, dominance stops becoming about statistics and starts become about the player himself. McCarthy's stuff, while good, is not overpowering. He can be dominant on certain days, but it's probable that he'll never be able to maintain that dominance over an entire year because his stuff is not overpowering. Vazquez's is stuff is overpowering, and there's no argument against that. It's easy to see that McCarthy is the better "pitcher" - as in he has better command of his stuff and knows how to get hitters out. Vazquez is much more of a "thrower" than he is a "pitcher," but that throwing can lead to dominance over the course of a year. Kerry Wood has done it, and I'd argue Jose Contreras has done it as well. Point blank, Vazquez has been a great pitcher in the past, and only his head really is stopping him from being completely dominant. Brandon will be better than Vaz this year, actually, I don't think it'll even be that close.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 10:16 AM) 32 teams, and the payout was only $50? You get free drinks as well, so that's probably why, but still 50 bucks works for me. You'd be proud Milkman, our team name was actually 'The Perfect Team' after Mr. Perfect because we were just playing Smackdown vs. Raw.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 12:43 AM) Loyola and Wright State are both pretty good. One of them is going to win the Horizon Tourney, thus Butler will take somebody's at large bid. Boo. And Wright State gets to host the games for as long as they go, so they definitely got a solid chance to win it as does Loyola and obviously Butler. If I had to bet, I'd go with the Raiders right now.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Feb 21, 2007 -> 09:55 PM) yeah they lost to Missouri at home and although Missouri is underrated, they are not that good. They have struggled mighty bad down the stretch. They have 0 true road wins, ZERO. That's just pathetic and I don't think a team with absolutely no wins on the road can be a NCAA tourny team.
