Ozzie's Respone
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 11:45 AM) lol, everytime Phillips is critical of anyone, they turn around and say "You were a sh**ty general manager, can it" It's almost too easy. As much as Phillips doesn't know what he's talking about for the most part, he gained a lot of respect with me when he was basically the only media member to admit he was wrong about the Sox in 05.

Rowand to the Sox??
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) Trading Mike MacDougal for Aaron Rowand would be absolutely f***ing insane. ^^^

SDSU is about to lose to Colorado State, I just don't get it. That team is uber talented and they've just had an awful year. Good news for bubble teams though as SDSU definitely had the talent to make a run through that tourny, now BYU or UNLV are almost assured of winning that thing.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 06:48 PM) Completely agree. Air Force has never won a game in the NCAA tourney. Well that has nothing to do with this year. They do still have some things going for them as they're 9 and 6 in road/neutral games, they have two solid ooc wins(3 if u include @ Santa Clara) and they also have the one win over UNLV in conference, they also have a pretty solid rpi. Now, you can certainly make a case against them and if I'm on the committee, I wouldn't have them in, BUT I still think they find their way into the field.

Air Force goes down in the quarters of the MWC tourny. That's their 4th loss in a row and they've put themselves a little too close to the bubble for comfort. They're still most likely in, but I wouldn't feel at ease if I were a Falcon fan.

Illini win. Very ugly but that doesn't matter, just win and advance.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 09:54 PM) Huge comeback in the Big Sky final. Northern Arizona was down 21 and they've come all the way back, down 2 now with 4 and a half to go. Just too much of a deficit to overcome, Weber State is dancing.

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 02:30 PM) Just dawned upon me looking ast Lunardi's brackets, UNLV is slotted to get a 4 seed and I have yet to see this team in action at all. Does the MWC tourney start tonight?? I love me some late night hoops provided Mark Few isnt coaching the team that is on. It technically started last night with TCU beating New Mexico but it resumes tomorrow. UNLV is a solid team but I'm not sold on any of the 3 at large candidates in the Mountain West to be honest. I think SDSU is the team that can make the most noise out of that conference next week, but the only way they get in is to win this tournament.

QUOTE(SnB @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 01:08 PM) depaul-nova game has been really good. Depaul has hung around the entire time, but it's not looking good right now. 67-61 nova with a minute left. They're done unfortunately. I was really hoping they'd make a run in this tourny and if they got by this game I thought they had a shot.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 12:59 PM) mmm hmm. If you lock up Buehrle, garland automatically becomes the top trade bait. Not to mention, I see how hes getting better by watching him, but pure stat heads are going to see that last year's numbers where the same as a couple of years ago, which doesnt suggest improvement. I'm the last person in the world who can be called a stat head but Jon hasn't showed much improvement at all minus 05. He was pretty much our most inconsistant starter last season but he had a nice stretch where everyone else was sucking wind so it made him look even better. Jon is what he is, he's an average innings eater who you basically know what you're going to get out of. I'd trade him in a heart beat for the right package.

Levine reports Sox and Buehrle to talk
QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 12:51 PM) I really dont see how it could be a good idea to trade Garland. All the benefits of trading him are all the reasons we should keep him. Hes young. hes been consistent and getting better and we have him for two more years. Says who? He's pretty much an average pitcher who had one solid season, that's it. Jon is prime trade bait because he does have value because of his youth and we could probably get a top of the rotation return for a non top of the rotation starter.
