  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 07:30 PM) That is something Rowand44 would say. Oh god, not this again.
  2. Whoa, SIU actually does exist to the National Media: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/men...ll/usatpoll.htm
  3. Alright so who wants to pick me up and drive me to class? I really don't want to walk there right now.
  4. I know people don't like to blame one person for a loss but Rex was with out a doubt the main reason the Bears lost this game. The Bears defense wasn't great at all but they were keeping the Bears in the game before Rex completely gave Indy the game. I mean Rex had 3 turnovers, he was absolutely pathetic.
  5. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 08:32 AM) You might be right. I know zero about hockey. Ditto. Looked it up though, they did indeed lose in the Stanley Cup finals in 1992.
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 08:28 AM) I must be missing something - who lost? Bears won Super Bowl XX, Sox won in 2005, Bulls won six championships and I don't think any of those three teams lost one. Cubs never went, and I didn't think the Hawks had either. ??? By the way, I have to say again: Rex Grossman = Mike Tomczak The Hawks were in the Stanley Cup sometimes in the 90's, maybe?
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 08:22 AM) INteresting fact. Before last night, when a Chicago team has made an appearence in a championship, they had won 7 straight times, and 8 of the last 9 dating back to the Bears in 86. Damn Bears, had to ruin what the Sox and MJ did for this city. I'm just joking Bears fans, don't kill me.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 07:05 AM) It was 10 BELOW zero when I left today. Ok, you win.
  9. 9 degrees outside here today, wtf.
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) If SIU is not ranked tomorrow, I riot! Ha, I think we will be but who the hell knows. Obviously the rankings mean absolutely nothing overall, but it would be nice to get in there because it is free PR which can't hurt.
  11. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) Rowand are you still a Duke fan or are you starting to see the light? :-) Ha, I'm still a casual Duke fan. To be honest, I haven't really loved Duke since Jay left(I loved watching him play, and I loved that team because of it). I think it's become pretty obvious here that SIU is really the only team I really care about now. I'll still watch Duke play but it's not like I'm drained if they lose like I am with the Salukis. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) Well that's what I'm saying. I thought their OOC schedule was weaker, but it actually had some pretty decent opponents on it -- didn't they also play Gonzaga at Madison Square Garden, IIRC (along with my Golden Eagles, obviously)? But as you said, no true road games, and when teams are still 'feeling it out' in the early season, being home/away can play a huge role in who ends up winning. Yes, I left out the Zags for some reason. Overall, they definitely played some good teams but having no true road games is a joke imo.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:56 PM) Duke needs to fall a bit, too. They're barely above .500 in conference at 5-4, are facing an (almost) certain loss with an amped North Carolina team coming to Cameron, and overall, haven't been very impressive this year. Yes, I realize they only have five losses, but their OOC schedule was embarassing (mostly the lack of road games -- they had some reasonably 'tough' home games). Barring them winning the ACC Tourney, they probably shouldn't be anything above a three seed, and a four seed would maybe even be a better fit. Duke actually does have some solid ooc wins with Air Force, GTown and Indiana. Problem is, they had 0 true road games ooc and you just can't be rewarded for that imo. They got a real tough schedule down the stretch, we'll see what happens.

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) The garmin Power Rangers commercial was also pretty good in a ridiculously stupid sort of way. http://sports.aol.com/nfl/superbowlads I liked that one, I also liked the slapping one and also the rock, paper, scissors one.
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:43 PM) He means that the Colts' play was in a class above the Bears' today. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:44 PM) He's just saying the Colts outplayed the Bears in every facet of the game. He's not saying the Bears did anything that wasn't classy. Yup.
  15. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) I almost missed that ending because we had to kick the Vols ass 19-7 in baseball. Thank god I was able to go to the club house in the 7th to watch it. I think you guys have completely moved yourselves off the bubble for the time being. RPI of 19, SOS of 15 with wins over Florida, Va Tech and @ Duke. Barring a total collapse, FSU is in the tournament.

    The doritos one with the fat chick was probably the most disturbing commercial ever.
  17. QUOTE(Scwible @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) out game planned? Yes Terrible execution? Yes Outclassed? i don't think so. I don't think the Colts are that much better than the Bears but they dominated that game. The Bears were in it for the whole game but Indy really did have control of the game the whole time.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:24 PM) GREASY SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS No congrats to you though.
  19. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) Overrated no more. 2007 Super Bowl Champions! Congrats sir.
  20. Grossman was horrid and the Bears had a horrible game plan imo, the Bears were just totally outclassed today.
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:21 AM) They are also better than donuts for a quick breakfast. I must admit, I've never had White Castle for breakfast. I do love those darn things though.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 07:35 AM) Well that's a whole hell of a lot better than the 0 seconds I got last night. 3 hours and I don't even give a s*** about the superbowl, so take that. w00t.
  23. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Feb 3, 2007 -> 05:29 PM) are they still winless on the road? winless on the road in the B12 Ya they are, they have some neutral court wins this season but no true road wins.
  24. Colorado takes down Ok State, absolutely horrific loss for the Cowboys.
