  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 06:58 AM) LOL! I see SI calling it the "greatest choke job in NFL history"! Teaches me! Shocking and histarical was what it was for me. I'm not a Bears fan and I'm sitting at the Buffalo Wild Wings here in Carbondale with a ton of Bears fans. Anyways, when everything is going down people are running around that damn place cheering and going nuts, I just sat at my table laughing and shaking my head. It was just ridiculous.
  2. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 06:50 AM) LOL!!! I went to bed with 8 minutes to go! LOL!!! I'm guessing I missed something??? Just a little bit.
  3. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) You really think Ozzie would take Dye out of the 3 hole? He excelled there at the end. What would that do to Konerko? 6th? Konerko is not a 6th hitter. Neither is Alex. Dye didn't excel out of the 3 spot and neither did the offense. The offense basically started to sputter when Jermaine was moved to the 3 hole. Now I doubt there is a direct correlation there but it certainly wasn't something that was going to make our lineup a whole lot better like some people thought.
  4. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) Was that a quote from him or speculation? Probably there are more moves coming(leadoff), but why couldn't he bat 2nd? Someone's source, so like I said who knows if it's true. I take anything from the media with a grain of salt, you just never know.
  5. I really doubt Dusty would get the A's job. He doesn't really subscribe to the moneyball theory if that makes sense. I don't think he'd be a good fit there.
  6. A-Rod would bat 3rd here. Anyways, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but at SI.com it was said that Alex wouldn't waive his no trade to come here because of Ozzie. Who knows if that's true but it's interesting with out a doubt.
  7. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) He's way too old for Sabean to trade. Honestly though, I'd love to have Vizquel on this team(obviously if we can't get Alex). The guy can still play, he doesn't have as much range as he used to but he's still sure handed at short and still a pretty solid hitter. I have no clue what it'd take but Omar is definitely someone I'd look into, if indeed Juan is gone(I think he's done here now, even without all the details of this).
  8. We're going to have a new shortstop next season.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) I think it's borderline, Green screwed up because he didn't really include any memorable lines in the tirade like "PLAYOFFS!?!?" or "You play to win the game." but you just know that this press conference will have some excellent staying power. That's exactly what I was thinking. He didn't have the one liner but the incredible anger definitely will have this thing being shown over and over again.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) You just know that Denny Green cut will be shown on SportsCenter and the like for the rest of eternity. You saying it's going to go into the Jim Mora/Herm Edwards hall of fame?
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) Oh you think everyone is great, why don't you go hump a tree ya damn hippy. Hmm, well I didn't see that one coming.
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Perhaps for a Dolphins fan but as a Bears fan I have no voice or energy left. I was just joking around. I actually really enjoyed this game because besides the 2001 Bearsesque comeback, I really enjoyed watching Leinart play, he is not going to be good, he's going to be GREAT.
  13. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) ? The game was boring, nothing exciting happened.
  14. Boring, boring game. Matt Leinart is really impressive though.
  15. Matsuzaka is a Boras client. I know ARod is as well but his deal is done. I'd love to get Mats cause I think he's going to be a freakin stud(and yes I'd like him over Alex) but it's not happening.
  16. So a certain admin here is recruiting me for facebook.
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) you and pretty much everyone else on this board Pretty much??
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) please Who wouldn't want to live in South Dakota if given the chance?

  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) More teams? Bah... Baseball seems to be the only sport where, if you made the playoffs, you really earned it. Football comes in second, but you can usually pick out one team per year that really isn't that good, and is just a product of playing poor teams or having teams in its division suck real hard. BTW -- before anyone brings it up, the NL of 2006 (sans the Mets) is an exception, not the rule. I completely agree. I actually love the playoff system as it is, no need to add more teams. A 162 game season with more than 4 teams getting in the playoffs would get a bit ridiculous imo. I would honestly be real pissed off if more spots were added to the playoffs.
  21. Well if anything we'll probably get a good "dugout" from this.
  22. I wouldn't really mind a best of 7 in the ds's, I don't mind the best of 5 either, I could be on board with either of those. Giving the Wild Card less home games is just real dumb imo though.
  23. Can't this be like an aim convo or something.
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) Huh? Frank has choked in every postseason series of his life except the Minny series with Oakland. That's simply proven fact. Well that's wrong. I'll let you look up your own stats though.
