QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) I dont think Jesus/God is going to be the reason a major league baseball player is able to pitch another season or not. And im not being an ass, Im a religous person. LOL, this post made me laugh.

Agent: Buehrle Happy With Sox
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) I've got no problem with Buerhle rooting for the Cardinals, but at some point in time he must show respect and maybe even some love for the team that drafted him in the 38th round,(the Cardinals passed quite a lot of times) and will have paid him after 2007 $28 million. Any picture you take is liable to be put on the internet. Wearing a Cardinal hat when you have been an All Star pitcher for the White Sox and the supposed ace of the defending world champions' staff, and getting photographed in it, maybe isn't wrong, although I think it probably is, but it certainly is stupid. And this after saying twice now that he wants to pitch for the Cards. Like I said, this story is getting old but it's not going away with him.

Dave Roberts looking like a strong possibility

Sox don't want to resign Riske
Riske was basically a completely average reliever and at the moment that's really his upside. We want to upgrade and at worst have some guys with some upside in the pen, Riske just isn't good enough to keep around.

Worst Team To Ever Win the World Series
QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) I just think your anger (for lack of a better term) is misdirected. The Cardinals didn't break any rules to get in, they just won a bad division. The 2004 Sox didn't get in with the same record, but that's not StL's fault either. The Sox have no one to blame but themselves for their failure to qualify, but that takes nothing away from what the Cardinals did. One thing has nothing to do with the other. And bear in mind that in the postseason the Cardinals beat the best team in the NL record-wise and the team that was the best in the AL for most of the season, so I think that deserves some respect as well. I'm not really mad at the Cardinals, them as a champion just kind of bugs me. I can't really explain it but that's just how I feel. Like I said, nobody can take away their championship there is just something that bothers me about the whole thing. Anywho, congrats to all the Cards fans and I'll stop being an ass about the whole situation.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) Yes Balta I believe that to be the case, and I also agree with 101 that Ben has looked better than he is because of the talent and scheme surrounding him. I don't think this crappy performance is the real Ben though, as I think he needs some time off to clear his head and let Batch get a few starts. I still think Ben is and will be a good qb.

Frank Thomas Free Agent
QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) Frank should sign with Det or Minnesota. 19 games against us and with his being motivated, he's probably guaranteed a good season just of all the bombs he's gonna hit off our Sox pitchers. Then he can enjoy a 2nd or 3rd place finish.

Worst Team To Ever Win the World Series
QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) I realize that, but I know we have several big-time Cards fans on the site, and it just looks like people are pissing on their team, instead of congratulating them for winning despite serious injuries to most of their better players throughout the season. If they had Isringhausen, Mulder, Bigbie, Rolen for the whole year, Edmonds for the whole year, (even Pujols missed some time), they'd probably have been a "better" team. They played with who they had, and they won the whole damn thing. That should be respected and celebrated, not spit on, in my opinion, especially from a fanbase who've used injuries as an excuse over the past few years ourselves. ("If we hadn't lost Frank and Magglio....") Well the thing is they really didn't battle through the injuries during the regular season, they won 83 games which is the same amount of games we won in 2004 without Maggs and Frank. Look, I do have sour grapes cause I'm pissed off after watching that World Series knowing the Sox on talent alone could have ran through this damn thing but I hope the Cards fans enjoy this, there team did win it. I just don't respect this team that much. They did win the Series though and no one can take that away from them.

Agent: Buehrle Happy With Sox
I wouldn't say it's a huge deal but Buehrle has made comments before about wanting to play in St. Louis so when there is a supposed story on what his wife said and a picture of him shows up on the internet wearing a Cards hat it's going to be talked about. Like I said, I absolutely love Mark but I'm tired of this damn saga.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) So yeah, if you haven't figured it out yet, Roethlisberger isn't a good QB. Pretty awesome feat about to happen this year. From Super Bowl to 1st pick in the draft. Atleast Brady Quinn will be available. That or see how much Jacksonville wants for Leftwich. No chance bro, the Miami Dolphins are the worst team in football.

Dave Roberts looking like a strong possibility
QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) stop gaps are solutions that medoicre teams sign. Pods is ajust as good as Roberts and he isn't much if any improveemnt over Pods. You Could sign him for maybe a year with an option and see if Ryan is ready next season. I see that as a very smart move made by a good team to help let your younger talent develop. As far as Dave vs. Scott, Roberts can actually play the "Ozzieball" game better. He can still steal bases at a good rate, he can actually bunt and he can at least catch the ball in left field. He's an upgrade over Pods especially with our manager and it shouldn't cost that much money.

Agent: Buehrle Happy With Sox
I love Mark and out of any other Sox player of all time, it'd be the hardest for me to see him in another uni. That being said, it's getting real annoying having to deal with this saga every damn year.

Dave Roberts looking like a strong possibility
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 09:42 AM) http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines IMO, he is better than Pierre. Comes cheaper and is a better overall player. I'm a big fan of signing Roberts as a stop gap. .344 career obp which isn't fantastic but he can run and has a real good steal rate, so he'd be in scoring position a decent amount. Ozzie also gets his speed at the top of the order and he's a pretty nice upgrade over Pods. He also shouldn't be that expensive so I think it'd be a nice value sign. I'm all for it.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) Link them to the linescores from this past summer when we raped them. I just asked the kid if he wanted to compare last years Sox team to this year Cards team. Then I just owned him with that information. The Sox accomplishments from last year make life easy.
