I voted for Darren Blakely, to homer 2 times in one game is good but to do it from both sides of the plate plus 2 more hits impressive.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 07:59 AM) I wanted to comment that my "take responsibilities for actions" remark was said "tongue in cheek". I just felt that is wasn't quite sarcastic enough to warrant green text. Yeah I figured that it was

QUOTE(minors @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) Well if we cut appeals to a 1 each and execution time down to 2 years you better believe it would make an impact with these thugs if they knew that they would be dead within 2 years they would think twice about killing. And by the way what is it with you liberals first the death penalty isn't right because there isn't enough time to make sure the innocent are not killed, so come the 20+ year appeal process. Now it's the death penalty doesn't reduce crime rates, it is biased against blacks and it costs too much. Just what does it take to please you liberals? That is one problem with liberals it would kill them to take a stance on a issue they have to chance sides whenever the wind blows (ala John Kerry). And finally the public has caught on just look at the 2004 electoral map only small pockets where the liberals still control. whoa.... not even touching that I will let LCR or Rex respond

Sounds kind of fishy, non taped confession, lost notes, no body, no blood, no DNA. Hmmmm... Sounds like a case down here in Bama where a Drug dealer and wife were shot 4 times a piece by their neighbor. The police ruled it self defense even though the victims were not armed with anything and there is a fence separating the yards plus the victims were 20 ft away and the wife was running away when she was shot. The police spent a whole 15 mins on the crime scene and as a side note the same neighbors burned down the place a week later.

You included some good quotes to back up your research and gave solid stats which also supported your research. Faze 2: Take a nationwide survey on the issue place this data between the last topic section and the conclusion section. Faze 2 is due 2-1-06 James R. Moon

I have a question: I see in my research that Illinois has put a stop to capital punishment, can some from there tell me why and the circumstances surronding it. Thanks Tom

Even though I live here in the Deep south I have always considered myself an independent and in 04 voted for Kerry and a Republican senator. This year I will vote for a Democratic gov in Lucy Baxley. Anyone is better than Bpb (Abramoff) Riley or Roy (10 commandements) Moore

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 12:35 AM) The south is full of a bunch of redneck dupes - And so does the North while they might not be called redneck they still exist. And the city of Birmingham is still one of the most liberal cities in the south having never voted for a Republican candidate

I need to conduct a nationwide poll for my research paper, and I figures this is the best way to get it done. I also need to use some reply's so if you give your first name and state would be greatly welcomed. Please try and keep it civil Thanks Tom

Javy had shoulder problems in 02, I believe it came on a throw (don't quote me on that). I do know he tried to play through it but after awhile he started pressing then started to chase the breaking pitch. He came back late in the season and had a great playoff series hitting a couple of bombs which set the stage of 2003
-
Had the great year of 2003 but had a lot of great hitters around him in the Jones boys and Sheff and solid lineup period. Javy from his years down here in Atlanta has been a good hitter throughout his career and a good leader as well with the pitching staff. I doubt Javy was a roider

It is interseting that now for class I have to write a 15 page term paper on capital punishment. Wondering if anyone had some good links because I am struggling on it, I still have not chosen a side yet on which to write on but any help as to links would be greatly welcomed Tom

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) And to top this doozy off, there was an unlicensed 15 year old driving these kids around. Who knows if it had anything to do with the accident, but who is the moron letting a 15 year old drive around 6 little kids? Yes that is a good question, but I guess it was lucky that no one else was in the car because it would have been another death. It looks like the trucker will face 7 counts of vehicular homicide. Just a tragic story it is hard to imagine the loss of 2 or 3 family members at one time much less 7.
-
Terrible crash around Gainsville, FLA a car that had 7 people inside all 15 years old and younger were killed. Crash
-
I became a bigger believer this week when a thug convicted of 2 counts murder and sentenced to Life is getting out of prison on parole when he should have been executed.
-
Yeah, I have big problems with appeals on execution style when he in cold blood killed a police officer, got 23 years to live gets a lethal injection and is complaing about possible pain? I think one of the biggest problems of capital punishment is time taken on the appeals process.
-
Supreme Court stops FLA execution Interseting appeal considering he isn't denying guilt rather the method of execution which could be a landmark ruling if the high court rules for him. Not sure if I agree with this

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) Are you asking for our true opinion, or is this a trick question? I'll procede assuming it's legitimate. Many factors have to be taken into consideration. First, which state do these "charges" occur--different states have different statutes for determing sentencing. Most importantly (from what I gather) is the doctor responsible, unless given notification from family members to remove necessary medical components prolonging life, would be charged with negligence. A malpractice lawsuit would likely ensue. The manner in which the question is worded--most noteably the number of people saved-- gives me a good indication it's likely the doctor whose responsible. It has no relevance to the original shooting, yet is included anyways. My feeling is most people would read the excerpt, notice two people were saved, and assume it was acceptable for the doctor to harvest the organs. Yep right on I was able to get right by breaking it down into several questions. The answer like you said was the doctor is at fault under Bama law he would be charged with murder 2 the shooter would get criminaly neg homicide. I was told I was the only one to get it right which suprised me. Also I was told this was a true case from Montgomery, Alabama and that is why it was used.
