QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 08:41 AM) That boy can rake too. If Drew can be healthy he can be a good version of his big bro. Yes he can the 6th pitch of the sidewinders season he launched off the score board at TEP which Sox's fans should know very well.

Barons take first win 1-0 with a Collaro blast and great pitching from Lummy 7K's. Barons first three starts have been very good Liotta, Broadway and Lummy tonight. Just no hitting

Could I get a score update thanks. My Dbacks are losing to Brew Crew -
No decison for Lance but 10K's. Rusty Tucker who owned the SL in either 03 or 04 is on for the Barons and has retired all 6 faced. 13 in a row for the Barons with severe weather coming 1-1 game

10 K's for Lance through 6

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) WHAT!?!??! . What happened to your BHAM gig? Well I could have had it back but chose to come out west instead. I will still be on the board from time to time and want to first congratulate the sox's and wish them well this season. The Dbacks are a 4th place team but a bright future. I had a good 6 years in Bham and will never forget the players and the memories. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) Good to have you back, BHAM. I'll be looking forward to all the great minor league info you provide. Unfortunatly I will not in BHAM any more I will now be covering Dback and Sidewinder Games. When I get a chance I will listen to the Barons. Tucson will be a solid team. And Justin Upton will be a CF when returns from injury. -
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) I can't see how Arizona is ahead of the Dodgers. Sure, they're loaded with hitting prospects. But who do they have pitching wise? The Dodgers are loaded with pitching and hitting. Well we don't have many pitching prospects I do like 2 Garrett Mock and Dustin Nippert. That Tucson team will be a bear the first 2 or so months

Finally moved in and back on line!!! I can say that Chris Stewart, Pedro Lopez, Charles Haeger, Rogo, Tracey, Owens and Reynoso will be on the Charlotte Roster. -
For me as a Stewart fan the race did have end on a downer but I am very happy with the way the Car handled he had I believe the 2nd best car outhere today and after his struggles at the 2 mile tracks of Cali and Michigan I am relieved because it looks like the HD team has a good set up for those tracks with Michigan Finishes of 2,4 last season and a top 5 last September @ Cali. On a side note I will be headed to live in AZ and looking forward to it.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 01:44 AM) To add to that point. The Union was taking MASSIVE losses during Grants spring campaign of 1864. He was getting 10-15 thousand men killed or wounded PER BATTLE! Personally I dont think Grant displayed any great generalship during that time. He basically used the Army of the Potomac as a bludgeon and kept hammering away knowing the South couldn't replace the men it was losing. Basically it was a classic war of attrition but it was so bloody that the people wanted it stopped no matter what. Up until Sherman captured Atlanta it was widely thought that Lincoln was going to lose the election, to McClellan of all people, and had that happened the war would have been halted and there would be 2 America's today. Yes I was looking for a different term than leadership qualities I just couldn't come up with a good term for it. Grant was butcher like Nuke says he took his strength against Confederate weakness which was manpower which lead to some ugly losses. To that last point about 2 America's I also agree and that we would have also had at least 1 to 2 more Civil War's as well over territories. One of the things I am thankful for is the Sherman victory and that the Union won this terrible war.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) So wait, within 6 months of the bang-bang major victories at Vicksburg and Gettysburg right before the 4th of July in 63, the country wanted to surrender? That sure doesn't sound like the history that I know. Well since I am a History major I can give some info. The North at no time was going to surrender, there was talk about a peace agreement because of the losses. The Union's biggest problem in 1863 wasn't that they were losing but after big wins like Vicksburg, Gettysburg, Chattanooga the army didn't pursue good enough. The union after Vicksburg could have trapped the confeds to the gulf. After Gettysburg the confederate army was in such shambles that the Union could have trapped them there as well. Finally after Chattanooga instead of just chasing the confeds out of the city and letting them retain their composure and allowing the confeds to retake the city, the union could have kept them retreating to Atlanta and so on. It took Grant and Sherman who had the leadership qualities to finally keep pursing the confeds which ended the war.

I am looking at my interactive map 270 to win.com and as of now I see Warner and Richardson as the best bests. I think Richardson would make a fine president.

QUOTE(BuckyBacker @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Hey all! It's good to see that you've found Bucky and appreciate him. Wait until you meet him in person - quality all the way around. I thought I would give some background in response to a couple of posts. It took Bucky a long time to get the minors due to a couple of injuries. Bucky's first season in Huntsville (1999), Bucky slide wrong into second and torqued his knee. He played on the knee and after struggling a bit he was sent down to High A ball. Bucky went on a tear in Huntsville the next season. He had been named to the AA All-Star Game (when they had one) and broke his wrist in a play at first base about four games before the All-Star Game. It was about a week later the Brewers traded for Richie Sexson, so it would've been interesting to see what would've been if the injury didn't happen. After bouncing around in the Brewers organization, Bucky was released and caught on with the Cardinals. He had a big season in 2003 but no room for a call up. He then got to live his dream and signed with Seattle. In terms of his power, the videos tell it. In Tacoma, the wall in dead center (around 400 ft) is about 20 feet tall. He hit a shot over that. When his was playing for the Beloit Snappers, he hit a shot to left in Kane County that easily cleared the utility shed past the fence. When the Mariners came to the Cell in 2004, Bucky's batting practice shots were half way up into the seats consistently. I think Bucky is a great insurance policy for the Sox. I'll let you know of the roadtrip to Indy to see him play if anyone is interested. Welcome aboard He also I believe has the longest bomb at the Hoover Met I believe while with the Stars if not it is really close. He hit an absolute bomb.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 03:13 AM) And it's not like Safeco is an easy park to hit them in. I love this signing. Even if it's just for depth/insurance. Neither is the Met I still remember what he did to Danny Wright pitch. Longest HR at the Met I believe. It might have finally landed in some foreign country

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) Judge can't cite his own religous convictions is handing down a verdict can he? Not in most states I can't say for all the states. But there is a legal issue here with the lying in wait clause.

QUOTE(samclemens @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) a lot can happen between now and the elections. this poll is virtually worthless. Yes I understand this I put this up there so it can be updated every so often and in November to see how things have changed that it's I realize these polls are nothing.

QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) Minors must be the biggest Bush apologist on this board. Will he ever break step with the president? He seems to stand side-by-side with him on every single issue. I am a democrat, and I generally try to respect the opinions of others. Most GOPers on this board tend agree with the president on most issue, but often disagree on some things. I respect their views and applaud them when they feel their own party is making a mistake. Likewise, I concur with the dems on many issues, but will call them out when I think they are wrong... Does minors have any opinions of his own on any matters? Ah but minors is a she
