  1. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 01:10 AM) Oh yeah, how could I forget. It is so interesting to watch cars go in circles on TV and in person. I can't believe how intersting and exciting it could actually be to listen to in on the radio. Really, come on, a NASCAR radio channel? Does the WWE have their own radio channel too? Well Nascar is a huge sport these days and yes it is very exciting to watch in person of course most northern people do not understand the sport because most of the tracks are here in the great south.
  2. Way to go Shawn of course I am biased because of my love for the Tide. ROLL TIDE!!!
  3. This was really a great bowl season with some great games my personal favorite being from the deep south is WVA and Georgia. Where WVA went up 28 on UGA in what was a home game for the Dawgs, then see UGA come almost all the way back and the game being decided on a very gutsy fake punt.
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 06:03 PM) Sirius is a better buy. More total sports plus Howard Stern. XM only has one thing going for it, MLB, that is it. And of course NASCAR!!! XM 144
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) So Sweeney staying in AA.... Do you know if they plan to promote him to AAA like mid-season or something like that? Ryan is coming off wrist surgery so I am assuming he will start back in Bham no need to rush him coming off surgery

  7. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) :rolly http://www.cushingdaily.com/opinion/cnhins...eyword=topstory They need to blame themselves just as much as the officials, if they would've played hard all 4 quarters instead of the 4th, they wouldn't have been in that position to begin with. I think the Nebraska/Michigan game was more poorly officiated. It was a toss up, Iowa made several mistakes (Blocked Punt, INT Returns for TD's), FLA made the gutsy play of going for a fake punt on there own 15, And the Refs clearly could not handle the speed of the game some of the mistakes are understandable but allowing the 12 men on the field was simply stupidity.
  8. Holiday Bowl Oklahoma 17 Oregon 14 Wow that was a great 4th period Oregon made a great rally only to have Clint Ingram make an awesome pick of a pass at the OU 10 with .33 seconds remaining that pick saved what would have been a touchdown for the ducks as they had a WR headed wide open for the endzone.
  9. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Five Worst Presidents James Buchanan Andrew Johnson Franklin Pierce Warren G. Harding William Henry Harrison Courtesy: C-SPAN Now how can any source judge Harrison he was in office 30 DAYS and except for around 3 hours of his presidency he was battling pneumonia which killed him. This would be the first place that judged him
  10. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) Carter wasn't the worst president ever. I think that right now James Buchanan would hold that title. The old bastard basically put the country in an unavoidable collision with civil war. I believe and most political science experts agree that the 2 worst presidents are the 2 right before the Civil War Buchanan, Pierce. Pierce I place even worse because his policies like the Kansas Nebraska act allowed states to choose slavery or not then appoints pro slavery governors, Pierce also used federal troops to enforce pro slavery state laws like the Fugitive slave act which allowed southern soldiers to enter any house and seize any black person they chose. Buchanan like rex said led the country toward the civil war by first of all thinking this was a state issue. First of all slavery stopped being a state issue long ago and the statement it self is total garbage, the government worked out slavery compromises ever since the constitution was even formed. So to say that Carter, Clinton, Bush are the worst presidents ever is not accurate at all we won't get a solid perspective for at least 30 years. Carter, Clinton and Bush might all be terrible presidents but they haven't even come close to doing what those fools (Pierce, Buchanan) did.
  11. Per Rotoworld: The Orioles are close to signing Jeromy Burnitz to a two-year deal worth $6 million per season, according to the Baltimore Sun. What a remarkably bad idea. Maybe the worst of the winter so far, which is really saying something. Burnitz has had OPSs of 676, 786, 915 and 757 the last four years. His one good year was Coors Field aided, of course, and he had a road OPS of 775 that year. Burnitz turns 37 in April, so he's going to get worse, not better. As a one-year stopgap, he'd be tolerable. $12 million over two years is just flushing Peter Angelos' money down the toilet. Dec. 27 - 10:56 pm et wow words can't describe how stupid this idea is.
  12. To hear Hussein complain about civil rights violations is like the Yanks complaining that the D-Rays have to large of a payroll
  13. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) I have no idea where Dover, PA is... does anyone? Actually it is in South Central Penn. I had an aunt that lived there and I also attended conventions at the state Fairgrounds. Map wise it is 35 miles south of Harrisburg and about 7 miles from York Penn which is on I-83 close to the Maryland line
  14. The Yanks are the only team that could make this a good signing 4 for 52. wow that is a boatload of money
  15. QUOTE(danman31 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Ryan Rodriguez top 10? Am I missing something? I am going with what I heard on him I have never seen him pitch a inning so I really am shooting in the dark with him. I would like to put Lopez in the top 10 but he struggled with the bat last season.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 04:30 AM) I know you saw all the games..... But I dont think Stewart belongs on the top 10 at all... Your right I overvalue Chris a lot he is a top 20 prospect not a top 10 prospect
  17. The Dodgers have some fine prospects like Broxton, Guzman, Young, Russell, LaRoche, Billingsley, Martin a fine defensive catcher. Broxton is guy who would a great fit he had a few major league innings under his belt and has a Bobby Jenks like Fastball along with a great slider could be a guy who could slip into this year's pen.
  18. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Here's my Top 10: 1) Anderson 2) Sweeney 3) Broadway 4) Fields 5) Owens 6) Liotta 7) Rodriguez 8) Tracey 9) Rogowski 10) Getz Mine looks almost exactly the same only I have Liotta and Fields swapped. 1. Anderson 2. Sweeney 3. Broadway 4. Liotta 5. Owens 6. Fields 7. Rodriguez 8. Tracey 9. Rogo 10. Getz 11. Stewart, Chris (added him because of the season he had a Bham last year)
  19. What is troubling here is the President could have still got the wiretaps as long as the Attorney General filed for the FISA warrant within 72 hours so this begs the question why did Bush still feel the need to violate the constitution which he swore to uphold twice for that matter. This matter will have to be investigated because of the constitutional violations.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) I'm not the minor league guru that some of the other Soxtalk studs are. But here's what I would assume our top guy's are right now. In no real order: Ryan Sweeney, Jerry Owens, Robert Valido, Casey Rogowski, Josh Fields, Sean Tracey, Lance Broadway, Charles Haeger, Ray Liotta and Jeff Bajenaru. Guy's I would look out for are Tyler Lumsden, Kris Honel "I can't give up on him for some reason", Francisco Hernandez and Aaron Cunningham. That's about the best I can offer. Our farm is considerably weaker now than it was 6 weeks ago. I'd be surprised if we were ranked in the top 20 by the time the minor league season starts next year. Let's hope Jim Thome and Javier Vasquez are well worth it. I have started on my Top 20 I should have it later on, But yes you nailed them correctly
  21. QUOTE(spiderman @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) I think most around here would be disappointed if the White Sox, after so many moves to help their major league club, took a step back to refresh their farm systm. Shouldn't be the Minor League system is the key to winning. Even if that means using the prospects to receive high quality Major Leaguers in return.
  22. The constitution is the superior document and the 4th Amendment clearly says and I quote: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. If we start allowing the government to trample the constitution then it will only be a matter of time until it is useless.
  23. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) I thought Young had 9 or so. yep you are right I should always remeber to use the software instead of my memory here is the list: 4-15 Montgomery vs Autrey, Scott 4-17 Montgomery vs Walton, Samuel 4-28 Chattanooga vs Kozlowski, Benjamin 5-09 Mississippi vs Lerew, Anthony 5-10 Mississippi vs Boyer, Blaine 5-12 Mississippi vs Wright, Matthew 6-30 Montgomery vs Cromer, Jason 8-12 Huntsville vs Taubenheim, Timothy 9-01 West Tennessee vs Aardsma, David
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) According to my source, Guzman makes B.J. Upton look like a Gold Glove infielder. Guzman projects as either a LF, RF, or 1B. Agree on both counts he can pick it well at SS and he is a big kid 6-6 but for some reason LA wants him to play the left side of the infield.
