  1. Well I don't think he is in but I doubt the roids theory, I have got to know him a little and a better family and community guy I haven't seen he doesn't strike me as a roider. However these days 500 Homers is the calling card and he will not make that.
  2. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ May 29, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG Career 2210 7943 1257 2265 512 64 321 1277 3868 1013 1080 121 82 .370 .487 .285 His career stats don't stand out, so i would say no. They are good though. I agree, I think he would need the 79 homers and 88 doubles to clinch it. The 400-600 Club is a prestigious club only 4 players (Stan Musial, Carl Yastrzemski, Hank Aaron, Cal Ripken) in that club.
  3. This was a question from a local paper
  4. I did find it ironic that the SF announcing crew's mikes went dead right as he hit 715. It cuts off right as he says "and it is a deep drive to center"
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 28, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) some of the interesting stats today: The Braves are outhomering the Cubs 8-0......8 homers for both sides is a record (given up and hit) breaking the record, when the Cubs gave up 7 to the Braves in 1966....the cubs, who are 30th in walks allowed and taken, are actually tied in walks today at 4, the Braves hitting coach was kicked out after his team had 12 runs and 8 homers, A fan ran onto the field for about 5 minutes, Glendon freaking Rusch k'd the first 8 guys he saw, and had 9 k's and 4 runs allowed in 4 innings, and the Braves have struck out 17 times to the Cubs 1. And of all people, the only 2 Braves to not homer today are Andruw Jones and Francoeur, and there have been 4 errors. That has been the Braves MO; Mediocre defense hit a lot of homers and strike out at a alarming rate they are on pace for over 1300 this year.
  6. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 26, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Trust me, after driving that ONCE, you'll understand... it won't hurt anyone. There's no one that drives those damn roads. It's hundreds of miles of NOTHING. And not even that. Yeah when I drove from AL to AZ the biggest town between Midland and El Paso is Van Horn with a 1,100 that is a strech of 300 miles. I cut my finger in a Subway and could not stop it from bleeding so I needed to find a doctor, I was told there was a hospital on Old Hwy 89 next to the old Carl's JR after about 20 mins found this metal building which had emergancy on it, I went in they woke up the doctor and there front door had one of those fingernails on chalkboard sounds to it and the ambulance driver made the comment that this was the site of the Texas Chain Massacure was said to take place well then the doctor came in and that door made that sound I jumped about 50 ft. That is my West Texas story
  7. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ May 27, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) How bad are the cubs? Well, yesterday, the cubs actually managed to walk Jeff Francoeur... thats bad Now that is bad, I remeber Paulino Reynoso was facing him last year with the bases loaded and threw 6 pitches way out of the zone and swung at all of them and K'd That is what his 2nd walk of the year QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 28, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) The Flubs did set their franchise record allowing 8 homers. It was also a Braves' franchise record for most homers hit in a game... Ryu starting for the flubs wow they must be hard up. I still remeber the shot Casey Rogowski had against him over the scoreboard in RCF and into the trees behind the parking lot.
  8. Lets get it started Poll didn't work so I will start it manually 1. Brandon Webb (8-0) 2. Tom Glavine (8-2) 3. Bronson Arroyo (6-2) 4. Pedro Martinez (5-1) 5. Other
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 26, 2006 -> 06:24 AM) http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5634524 7 stolen bases? I cant believe he wasnt pulled sooner. Not much he could do. Lecroy was the 3rd catcher if you make the move any earlier and then Fick gets hurt they are done. It is a bad situation to starting your 3rd string catcher.
  10. 77-75 Phoenix after 3 quarters in game 2 Lets go Suns!!!
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) I am going to continue to stick with the fact that the Suns aren't very good, unless they win it all at which point I would decide that the entire NBA sucks and the Suns took advantage of it. This team can't continue to do this, I refuse to believe it. Hopefully Steve Nash can keep taking it to his former team and former boss Mark Cuban. We did what we needed in Dallas with a split and hopefully taking 2 from Big D. Here's to big shot Boris
  12. Wow, here is to a speedy recovery One thing I noticed about the article was the three areas that have had reports of this terrible illness. Bay Area, Gulf Coast and East Flordia the only thing the have in common is they are next to large water areas
  13. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 24, 2006 -> 03:30 PM) I would take a fireballer with no command over El Duque any day of the week, unless it's October and my team is alive I don't disagree but the pen is filled with guys just like Juilo so I don't know how this improves the team.
  14. This move seemed to be written on the wall down here all this move does is add another fireballer with terrible command which is the same as the rest of the pen. Kevin Jarvis will take over as the 5th starter
  15. QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 24, 2006 -> 06:51 AM) I agree that he is exciting to watch, but you would think he would be getting the Barry Bonds treatment and see less good pitches to hit and a few more walks. Would you rather pitch to Pujols or Edmonds/Rolen? I would take the latter who have a combined 9 HRs in 265 ABs compared to 23 in 154 ABs. I wouldn't call Edmonds a good hitter either, at least not this year (.248 AVG, .739 OPS). I am not talking about every AB, but there seems like there are numerous situations where Pujols is up to bat and a BB would be a better scenario than a 2-run HR by Pujols, and he hits one. The Dbacks did that 3 times the begining of the month (Worked Twice and Rolen hit a HR the other) but the key is to get Eckstein and the 2 hole hitter out. Last night SF did not and had no choice but to pitch to Pujols and got hammered.
  16. Thanks my present was a club seat to the Dbacks game and a foul ball which I got 7 autographs on and a 7-3 Victory over Jason Bay/ Pirates. The best part was the cold stone ice cream cake
  17. QUOTE(SnB @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:04 AM) I still don't understand how one of those GMs didn't go all out this offseason. It would be the easiest money ever spent for a division title Well I know the Dbacks and Josh Byrnes had to dig out of the mess (bad contracts) left behind by the previous managment group. I think all and all Brynes had a good off season by dumping the Glaus contract, getting a solid defensive second baseman and finally getting a cheap but good CF who can be a stop gap until the farm system can kick in. Now come July and the Dbacks are setting close to the divison lead I can see a trade to improve the starting pitching which looks to be the only weakness on this team.
  18. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 17, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) Last year this division was just plain terrible. I still don't think this division is that good this year, but all the teams are above .500. Colorado is probably overachieving, and who knows if San Deigo will play like this all year. I see 5 average at best teams in that division. The whole NL is pretty weak this while the NL west is bad it still might be the best in the National League though. I agree that colorado is overachieving and San Fransico will not be able to compete with that terrible pen.
  19. Obviously this proves that there is no case here hopefully the defense files a motion to dismiss and this ordeal will come to an end. I hope they can prove she made up this whole story and charge her with making false statements and obstruction of justice. I don't think suing gets anything done here because she will never pay and the DA's office has the 3 Grand Jury true bills so any kind of false arrest law suits get thrown out.
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 14, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) So far this weekend, Josh has gone 7-12 with 4HR 2BB and 3K's. According to Gameday, all of the HR have been to straight-away center and right-of-center. None of them have been cheapies. They've all been 400 ft. shots. That also go back to last year I don't remeber any cheap homers all were 380ft+ Including a couple to dead center at the Met.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 8, 2006 -> 01:59 AM) I wonder if that's the ex-Twin 1B. Yep, I have been on the replacement umps side but this incident should have been seen a mile away. Corey Smith was 8-15 against Jacksonville with 2 homers after being signed.
  22. QUOTE(knightni @ May 8, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) JEEZ... How much crow needs to be eaten at the beginning of this thread? Lots the first 6 maybe 8 pages were spent ripping this guy. Some really good posters are looking foolish. Good luck Haegs
  23. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ May 4, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) The cubs offense has just shut down, what the hell happened? I was at the Game tonight and half of the team looked like they wanted to be somewhere else other half was arguing with Bill Miller on pitches that were strikes. And the Dbacks are playing much better.
