  1. QUOTE(AndytheClown1 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) It is not that KW is offering BMac, it is that the Orioles are ASKING for him! They would be crazy not to. You're right about that, better offl asking too high then too low.
  2. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) Well, if budget is not an issue and we don't need to dump salary then KW should offer Contreras, Uribe, and prospects not named McCarthy for Tejada. Their salaries would be a wash for 2006. If that's the case then i don't see why not.
  3. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) If we added Tejada, the idea of moving Iguchi down lower in the lineup would be thrown out the window. Without a doubt that would happen.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) If that's the biggest problem with this trade, I would imagine KW and Ozzie would have no problem telling Iguchi he's staying in the 2 hole. I know, but all i'm saying is that tadahito and ozzie wanted him to be lower in the lineup.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) Just a hunch, but I'd take the lineup with Pods/Iguchi/Tejada/PK/Thome/Dye over Pods/Uribe/Thome/PK/Dye. If the Sox did acquire Tejada for Contreras/Uribe/prospects, then I would think they'd have the best team in baseball by far (and this is coming from a doom and gloom guy). I'm not saying that i would object to this trade, just that it would defeat the purpose of moving tadadhito lower in the lineup.
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) It wouldn't be a big deal at all. You could keep Iguchi as your #2 hitter, use Tejada as your #3 hitter, and bump everyone else down a slot. Podsednik Iguchi Tejada Thome Konerko Dye Pierzynski Crede Anderson Well i know that, but ozzie said that he wanted to try to move tadahito down in the order. And if we got tejada, i doubt that he would bat second, which would then move tadahito right back into the same position he was last season.
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) Is your source a shareholder? I'm not busting your balls I just wonder who KW and friends would give this information to. I'm curious to who their source is too. It sounds like it is coming from someone in the room while KW is on the phone with the other team.
  8. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) DING DING DING!! We have a winner! Wasn't Bruce Levine reporting that he was positive that Jon Garland would be traded before spring training? Levine doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, whenever I hear him report something it goes in one ear and out the other. As for acquiring Tejada for the White Sox, forget it. We have Thome/Konerko/Dye and I think Joe Crede is finally going to put up some real solid numbers this year. We have plenty of power. Get us another arm for the pen, a bat off the bench and we're set. CWSOX45 The problem with trading uribe in this is uribe could be used as the new #2 hitter in the lineup so tadahito can move down. I'm not stating that uribe hitting behind pods is a sure thing, but i have heard that idea floated around.
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:33 AM) It might make sense, but then he was just BSing the first rumor. The Sox were overbudget then, they were going to have to give Garland at least $7 million in arbitration. He makes crap up. He is known nationally for doing that. I don't think the Sox are a player for Tejada, and I don't think they ever realistically were. AndytheClowns source said they had made an offer to us, wether that is true i don't know.
  10. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) If you think Bruce Levine is reporting falsities simply because the Cubs organization now has interest in Tejada, I really have no rebuttal. The guy reports what he hears. It's known the Sox are currently over-budget, the Sox would be hard-pressed to trade similar contracts, and Tejada would almost surely mean yet another raise in payroll. Even if the guy is just connecting the dots, it makes an lot of sense to me. Yes it does make a lot of sense but it's bruce levine.
  11. QUOTE(Wanne @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) Besides having enormous talent...does anybody think getting Tejada would be a HUGE mistake for the makeup and a little thing that was emphasized last year...chemistry?!? Personally....I'm sick of hearing about the guy....just STFU and play what you're paid $12M to do. Seriously...do you really want somebody waffling like this when things start to go a little bad on the team. Did we hear one player panic, b****, complain or moan during septembers freefall?!? Does this team really need this kind of crap?!?...no. Stay away from the light Kenny.... This team doesn't really need that but this is how i look a certain players requesting a trade. It is like a regular person asking for a transfer because of various reasons, he is asking for a trade because baltimore sucks. See the connection.
  12. QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) This may be true, but with all due respect, Bruce Levine "is in no position" to have any freakin clue what KW will do next. Even if Levine has heard this directly from KW's kidney stone, it may be to get his nose out of it and stay under the radar. I'm not saying anything is gonna happen, I just am not gonna take Levine's word for it. Yeah you're right, levine line can't be taken seriously because he isn't believeable at all.
  13. Well whatever is wrong with KW i hope that it all gets fixed.
  14. That's so sad, i feel so bad for that little girl.
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) eh, I found a good pic of the count and used it. I wasnt interested in how many fingers he was holding up Yeh that is a funny picture.
  16. QUOTE(Spiff @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) UCLA and Oregon, basically. Ok so their conference is practically a joke then right?
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) He is 6th all time in Saves. Thanks for the info Steff, SS2k5, and kyyle.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) I think LSU very well may have beat them had they played in 2003. I think Auburn very well may have beat them had they played in 2004. I think Texas WILL beat them in Pasadena. USC is very overrated, and I will stand by that even if they win it all in January. This run doesn't happen if they played in a real conference. Who is good that is in their conference? Is UCLA and Fresno in it?
  19. I'd root for the new team if they came here. I don't really like the bears that much anyway.
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 10:39 AM) Ah Ah Ah, I count 6 wonderful pitchers! But he's only holding up five fingers.
  21. Oops i didn't see the other thread about this, can someone merge it or delete it.
  22. Jose Contreras - S - White Sox Jose Contreras is believed to want three guaranteed seasons at between $11 million and $12 million per year in a contract extension with the White Sox, so he may be trade bait now. "We have talked; we have not gotten too far," agent Jaime Torres said. "Jose is interested in staying in Chicago, but the market has been set [this winter]. Jose wants to stay, but it's a business, and we have to make sure his next contract is a good one." The White Sox are content to keep all six of their starters and put Brandon McCarthy into the pen to start the season, but it is a possibility that Contreras will go, perhaps for a reliever and a pitching prospect or two. Dec. 29 - 5:01 am et Source: Chicago Tribune What do you think will happen with Jose?
  23. No real news just this little tidbit of info Willie Harris - 2B - White Sox The Rockies are moving closer to signing free agent Willie Harris to a one-year deal. While reports have the Red Sox interested, there have been no indications that Boston has made a bid. It's unclear whether there's anyone else chasing him. Dec. 29 - 3:20 am et Source: Rocky Mountain News
  24. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) How could they be worn out? Nobody sat in them for years. I sense the sarcasm, but they are probably all weatherd out and stuuf.
