  1. How tall is your Festivus pole?
  2. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) 91 million is what I have been hearing. I have heard up to 95 mil.
  3. OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH, the AL better watch out, the red sox just found the secert weapon.
  4. I remember being there and after started to run i was like WTF and paul threw the ball to the mound. That bottom of the ninth was priceless, next to the WS game 2 too.
  5. QUOTE(greg775 @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) Trading Garland after what he did for us last year would be asinine. We swept the World Series in 4 games; we lost one postseason game. And we want to get rid of one of the cogs???? Ridiculous. Pay the man some money. I'm not even sure if they have the money to pay him.
  6. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 08:09 AM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws Okay thanks.
  7. Since yesterday was the arbitration deadline, what is the deal with jon and joe? Are they still going through arbitration or waiting to announce a deal today? If this should be somewhere else please move it.
  8. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) Timo I can obviously see, but you'll really have to tell me why everyone is happy that Willie's gone, cuz I don't see what's so great about losing him. He is too stubborn to accept that he is a bench player and he wouldn't go to the DWL to learn to play SS.
  9. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) I'm a little late... but THANK GOD these two morons are gone. /end Timo wasn't a moron, he was just bad.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) WTF???? http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories....04237328&EDATE= They will blow that up too, to rid of the curse.
  11. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) doesn't look that bad, but no MVP. Nothing will come close to MVP.
  12. QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 12:13 AM) we gave dan wright, jon garland, kip wells, and mark buerhle all chances ... And two of the above have worked out.
  13. QUOTE(LDF @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) now with some of the major trades done and who knows of any future trade. how does it look now on the farm. re: of'ers, position players, cat's and pitchers. i guess i will come back to this as the season approaches. I was about to ask the same thing.
  14. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) now we've got Vazquez playing in the WBC along with Tadahito, Freddy and Buehrle. Did they list all of the relievers yet, because i am surprised that neal or cliff didn't make it in.
  15. QUOTE(mwolfson @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) Hey guys, this is my first post in a while as I am still "hoovering" 2 feet above ground due to the White Sox World Series championship. I rarely post but check the site many times a day to read what people have to say and I have come to a conclusion especially after the trade for Javier Vazquez that everyones thinking we should trade Jon Garland immediately. I agree that trading him, now with his contract situation at where it is would be the most beneficial but why not hold on to him and go with a five man rotation made up everyone but McCarthy (but have him get in some games whether starting or as a reliever) especially because as of now Mark Buehrle and Freddy Garcia will be pitching in the World Baseball Classic and our starters arms were used a lot last year (regular season wear and tare along with the postseason performances) and then trade Garland at trading deadline when some sucker-GM will give up two-three very good prospects for him. I know this could be helping another team but I think we could find a team in the National League to trade him to that might be willing to part with two pretty good pitching prospects or an everyday center fielder if Brian Anderson doesn't work or relief pitching help, etc. Thanks... - Mike Very good post and i do agree with you.
  16. There was a lot of IF'S going into the 2005 season too.
  17. Just a simple question, how did this thread make it to 13 pages long?
  18. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) I was assuming a precondition of a Garland for Blalock + SP prospect there. That's where the Crede speculation came from. Sorry, I should have noted that. I figured that was susposed to be mentioned.
  19. Some of those trades on there are just laughable at best. (ex. the yankee-cardinal swap)
  20. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) Nice Time for Jon to get Hot.. Decent move but way to much Cash for Seattle.. From a financial standpoint, it couldn't have been better.
  21. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) We actually need at least 2 bullpen arms with Marte and Vizcaino gone and the possibility of Hermanson missing some time. I think we can cover Hermanson with an in-house minor leaguer, but we should really try to bring in two more guys if possible. I like the idea of Crede to Pitt for some of their relief as they have loads of young pitching. The only reason I'd like to see the Sox get a top minor league SP is for insurance. Our starters pitched extra long last year into the playoffs and 3 of our starters are pitching in the international games. It would probably be a good idea to have someone, like BMac last year, that could fill in. I'm not hoping for anyone as major league ready as McCarthy obviously was, but someone who can reasonably put up a mid-4 ERA. Then if we traded crede for RP's, we wouldn't have a 3B. Josh Fields isn't ready yet either.
  22. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) http://www.theheckler.com/index.php?page=0...rub=64&idsite=1 I hope this is true. It justs shows the lack of competition that he has. As long as people are coming to the park and buying s*** from there i don;t think he could give a s***.
  23. QUOTE(TheHawkaroo @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) Well at least the royals will be semi-competative next year. With the tigers for 4th place.
  24. QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) Ezequiel Astacio. Do you think he ever considered getting those things on his cheeks removed?
