  1. Since the sox just aquired Thome, do you guys/girls think that Paulie will be back with the sox to play first and have Thome DH or is Thome going to be our first basemen next season?
  2. The only part i dont like about it is that Gio is involved. Other than that i am a fan of this deal.
  3. QUOTE(timotime @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) not for 10 million a year. i would flip out every time he blew a save if he was getting paid that much. nothing short of perfection should be expected from a reliever who gets $10 mil a year. I'm not saying that i would overpay for him, but if the price was right.
  4. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) Not really a good example: Angels record in 2003, the year after the WS = 77-85 (.475) Hopefully the Sox will look to make small improvements in areas where they struggled, like adding a left-handed bat or two. If the front office gets complacent, then the other teams will catch up (Indians, Twins). Come on, they got some good draft position out of that year. Why wouldn't you want that to happen?
  5. QUOTE(sufferingsoxfan @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) The Opener has been moved to Sunday night 4/2/06 for the ESPN opening game. I can't believe ESPN is actually going to give the Sox this pub. Keep this in mind when purchasing ticket plans. But my rep says this may cause some adjustments of the plans. So then i would assume that it is a night game instead of a day game.
  6. There was another thing like this a couple years back and they were on Maury and the kid was 16 and the wife was 40 or something like that. They ended up divorcing though.
  7. That's interesting, i wouldn't mind having Ichrio patrol RF next year for us.
  8. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) Not a chance. This will NEVER happen. Even if the Marlins were trading Cabrera, which they're not, that deal would never ever work. Cabrera is a younger Pujols, seriously. We would literally have to trade them BMac, Garland, and our TOP 4 minor league prospects to even come close. Cabrera will be a yearly MVP candidate without question. I'd agree with that. I think that they wouldn't take anything less than that.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 06:21 AM) Wowza. The Mets' pursuit of Billy Wagner may have paid off, as several sources are saying a deal could be announced as soon as tomorrow. Mets GM Omar Minaya has apparently offered a four-year, $40 million contract to Wagner, a deal that the Phillies are not expected to match. I wish the sox would have went after him, just imagine our bullpen after wagner would be in it.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) This is true, I still don't like Bill Mueller. The only problem is there's really no other decent insurance policy for Crede out there other than Bill. I guess if Joe's back is really a problem we could do a lot worse than Bill Mueller. Greg Norton Part duex
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) Your 2006, Fourth place finishing, Chicago WHITE SOX! They were susposed to finish third or forth this year too, and look how that turned out.
  12. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) Well from Florida fans, I hear that they will be keeping Cabrera at 3B and moving Blalock to 1B once they move Delgado. Who knows though? It would make sense since cabrera is practicaly their franchise player and moving him back to his natural position wouldn't surprise me.
  13. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) Posted only the top 9. Anyone wants to see the rest , I'll post them here. Are there any other White Sox on the list?
  14. QUOTE(bulokis @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 11:12 PM) Is Timo a free agent this year? Tike Redman was release by the Pirates and could be a good pick up. For a bench spot and bench spot only.
  15. It's looking like the marlins won't be that good next year if all of these rumors turn out to be true and happen.
  16. QUOTE(bkmoney @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) so i order a nice white sox sweatshirt from mlb.com and it comes today. i am all excited and i open it up and to my surprise.. they sent me a cubs sweatshirt. im like huh so i call mlbstore and they are like "oh yea sorry at least we got the city right." at least its not costing me any more.. Remember that it is a Cubs town and always will be, they sent you the sweatshirt just incase you decided to convert.
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 06:18 AM) BWAHAHAHA at Scott Bora$$. Bora$$ is such a money loving a-hole, i can't stand him.
  18. Hideki Matsui - OF - Yankees Hideki Matsui's four-year deal with the Yankees is now expected to be worth $52 million. The deal will likely be officially agreed to tonight. If not, the two sides can push back the midnight deadline. Nov. 15 - 6:13 pm et Source: The Associated Press
  19. Hideki Matsui - OF - Yankees The Yankees and outfielder Hideki Matsui are nearing an agreement on a four-year deal worth about $50 million, The Associated Press reports. That'd be quite a raise for a player who was little better than expected while fulfilling the $21 million contract he received three years ago, and considering that he's now 31, he's a worse bet for the future than he was back then. Of course, since he brings in revenue just by being on the team, he doesn't need to be a $12 million-per-year player to be worth the money. Nov. 14 - 7:47 pm et Source: The Associated Press
  20. QUOTE(Balance @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) I don't want to see the NFL expand, for starters. There aren't even 32 good starting QB's in the league. How many more teams are there going to be with starting QB's with the skills of Brooks Bollinger, Kyle Boller, or JP Losman? LA doesn't deserve an NFL team. They can't seem to keep one there for very long. What was the longest a team has been there? Correct me if i am wrong, but isn't this LA's third oppourtunity at having an NFL team?
  21. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) Oh, God, please tell me they are going to trade Felix Pie for Juan Pierre. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee. This would make my freaking day. I wouldn't doubt the Cubs from doing that.
