  1. Not really FA news, but Juan Pierre - OF - Marlins ESPN Radio 1000 is reporting that the Cubs are close to acquiring Juan Pierre from the Marlins for a pair of minor leaguers. No Corey Patterson? We hope the Cubs wouldn't give up Felix Pie for one year of Pierre. Parting with pitching prospects, say Rich Hill along with Sean Marshall or Renyel Pinto, would be preferable. 2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) Well...I guess the good news is that now he can't come into games for us. That's terrible news, now if the sox are blowing a team out we will have to find someone new to make the game close again.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Damn you took my idea, but i will second that NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  4. Kenji Jojima - C - After concluding his visit with the Mariners, Kenji Jojima will leave Monday for Chicago, where he will hold a news conference on Tuesday. Jojima had dinner with Mariners chairman Howard Lincoln and team president Chuck Armstrong on Friday and met with GM Bill Bavasi yesterday. It's expected that he'll visit the Mets in New York and San Diego before deciding on a team. A return to Japan and the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks remains a possibility. 5. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) No wonder he said he gets a better read of the ball in CF? Rowand plays a deep center , so he gest to allot of balls in the gap... but he was one if not the worst CF's trying to get those gimme loopers in short CF. That drove Ozzie Crazy all year long, he even reinstated that in the playoffs when Rowand was plying to deep and let potetially tying and winning runs on during each playoff series. The bottom line is that Abreu gives us much more than Rowand will ever give us. If it takes for Rowand to go to get Abreu.. like DJ says it best.. Bye , bye... cya Rowand... give me Abreu any day over Rowand. You forgot the Uh-Oh before the Bye Bye. :uhoh
  6. I just couldn't imagine frank in a twins uni.
  7. That's pretty cool for an 18 year old to be mayor, but it has to be so embarrasing for the person he beat out, unless they were his age.
  8. I never cared for Arrested Development.
  9. They made a South Park episode about NAMBLA. It was pretty funny.
  10. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) There is an entire thread called "Yankees inquire about Rowand" or similar, right on page 1. for some reason i didn't see it.
  11. I don't know if this has already been posted or talked about, if it has i'm sorry. Aaron Rowand - OF - White Sox The Yankees asked the White Sox about center fielder Aaron Rowand, but they were told by GM Ken Williams that there was no potential for a match. It's not out of the realm of possibility that Rowand will be dealt, but the White Sox would probably be better off waiting a year. Brian Anderson hasn't proven he's ready to take over in center field. If Rowand isn't an option, the Yankees could look at trading for Milton Bradley, Brad Wilkerson or Juan Pierre. Bradley's issues reportedly have much of the club's front office against a potential deal, but he's plenty talented and he'd come cheap. Nov. 11 - 4:02 am et Source: New York Daily News
  12. Hasn't MB pitched like the last 4 opening day games (not just here but away also)?
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 05:38 AM) Hahahahaha, the Cubs can't really be this clueless can they? http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...ack=1&cset=true Cubs, Perez agree on 2-year contract "PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -- From all accounts, Nomar Garciaparra would love to return to the Cubs for a third season. But the veteran shortstop whom the Cubs made it a priority to keep is Neifi Perez, who has agreed to terms on a two-year deal that is expected to be announced on Tuesday. "I've decided I really like the guys who catch the ball," Hendry said." Is he really worth 5 million? Neifi Perez - SS - Cubs Neifi Perez's two-year deal with the Cubs is worth $5 million. With the way the Cubs spend on the Neifis and Glendons, you'd never know that they actually had a fairly productive farm system. The Cubs probably aren't giving Perez any more than the Diamondbacks, Marlins or Rockies might have at some later date, but it's still too much. Nov. 8 - 4:04 pm et
  14. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) I think the Bears should try and sign him to my knowledge we have plenty of money to spend(I could be wrong) we have just lost Mark Bradley for the year, and we can draw a double team off of Muhsin Muhammed which could greatly help a young quarterback in Kyle Orton I say he's worth the risk No thanks.
  15. I cant stand TO's rich whining ass. I would have suspended him along time aog if i could hcvve.
  16. What position would be replaced?
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) For just one of them, I assume? I just heard Ozzie wants more speed at the top, so I had to think about who's available that would fill that? Somebody plausible, that is...not Furcal. Anyone else out there? Via trade or FA?
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Rowand,Marte,Gload,Haigwood? I think that they would want more for those two guys. JMO.
  19. Here's the rotoworld thing Jim Thome - 1B - Phillies The Twins have had discussions with the Phillies about Jim Thome, who is owed $43.5 million over the next three years. The Phillies would probably have to eat a bigger portion of the contract that they'd like in order to send Thome to Minnesota, and even if something is agreed to, Thome would have to waive his no-trade clause. A deal is unlikely, but the talks could get very interesting if expanded to include Torii Hunter and Jason Michaels. Nov. 4 - 1:21 pm et Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune
