  1. Can't believe this has not been mentioned. but.... 25 mil over 2 years? I would much rather a division rival throw that money at a 40 year old question mark than another young stud under 30. (heck, that money is enough to pay for 2-3 probowl caliber starters)
  2. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) QB - Packers(Cutler is a great pickup for the Bears, but Rodgers at this point in time is a better overall QB as he makes less mistakes) Receivers - Packers (Include Olson and Clark, it don't matter, they don't make up for the rest of the receivers) OL - Packers (A pretty good unit familiar with each other; Bears have question marks with Pace's & Williams' health) RB - Bears (Hopefully for Bears fans, he doesn't catch the Anthony Thomas syndrome) I can't see how you can give an edge to the pack at OL or QB. The Pack OL is not stable at all and not sure how you can call the Cutler/Rodgers comparison anything but even. If you group in the TE's with the WR's then it is a small advantage to Green Bay. The Biggest advantage is at the RB spot Forte>>>>> Anything Green bay will throw out there.
  3. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) Why do you think they are gonna be in 3rd? anything can happen. Can Green Bay finish first? I think any of the top 3 NFCN teams can. As it stands now, I think they have the 3rd best talent.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) The Packers aren't much different than the Bears. Packers have the better offense (rodgers is very good, I like Cutler more, but Rodgers has better receivers around him so I'd give the nod to the Packers offense). qb even wr packers te Bears OL even RB Bears Looks like an edge to the Bears to me
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 07:40 PM) No. informative
  6. Thome Dye Getz AJ Rios Beckham TCQ Konerko Lexi We are screwed
  7. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 12:17 PM) Favre is nuts. The Packers are still taking this division. Championship!! I think the packers should worry more about the Lions instead of the Vikings or Bears. 3rd place sounds about right for the Pack.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 08:22 AM) If you're listening to Hawk he's likely to be a 70+ HR guy. He said 30 hr power and I can believe it.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) Castro will want 2 mil minimum. Are you trying to be funny?
  10. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 03:08 PM) Yes. That Cardinal team was at one point 16 games above .500. Were the 2009 White Sox ever 16 games above .500? Not even close. That's why you can't compare the two teams. That makes no sense. I don't care where they were . The end of the season is the only thing that matters, 83 wins.
  11. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 05:08 PM) Whatever. I truly just don't think this team has what it takes to win a playoff series. Maybe saying I hope they don't get there was a little illogical, but really, it's not gonna do much for us (other than 1 or 2 games worth of revenue). The moves we've made this year are very clearly targeted for 2010 and beyond, as right now we are missing 2 spots in the rotation. But I'm okay with that. Next year, things will be much better (baring any more Quentin-esque injuries). Youth, players in their prime (not passed them), and a fresh start will really do wonders. I would believe you if Peavy and Rios were acquired in the off-season.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) Go away. This is the worst post in the history of this forum. The Yankees and Angels really kicked our ass didn't they? In with the Save! Thank you for saving this forums credibility. That really was a horrible post. Worst post in the history of soxtalk? Very possible.
  13. Steve, great read. I can honestly say that some of these articles are more informative than anything in a Chicago newspaper (Is that saying much?).
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:07 AM) Terrible defensively, worst base runner in baseball and a mediocre hitter at best. This guy is our "MVP", GTFO. He has been picked off 7 times this year and gets picked off at 3rd base with less than 2 out tonight. Pathetic. Worthless Thread.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 04:27 PM) Why? It's not like Bacon was going to hit anything tonight.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:36 AM) Huh? I've made two posts in that thread, one of which was a picture. I'm still waiting for facts unlike the judgmental folks out there. How about you cut down to only 2 cases of red bull a week, and take a deep breath.
  17. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:33 AM) Dotel was warming up next to T-Pain. He's fine I seen that, but just because he's warming up does not mean he is fine. Can you confirm he was throwing hard? I've seen bluffs in baseball before. Dotel may have been a little fatigue (44 pitches since Sunday)
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:31 AM) Shhh, stop repeating what people have already stated as teh point to this entire thread. We're arguing with blinders on tonight! Right. The only one with blinders may be you when talking about Patrick Kane.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:28 AM) Dotel? Good point. I hope nothing is wrong with Dotel.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:22 AM) That's fine, then Ozzie needs to stop pitching him in big situations until it gets worked out. Not too much of a choice tonight. If he came in before the 11th I would have been pissed.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:20 AM) You're arguing with the ultimate homer who quotes deals made in a non-pay public fantasy league as reasoning to discount someone's opinion. Don't bother! I'm just pointing out that you sit right next to the panic button at all times. I've watched enough sports in my life to know that you need to have patience sometimes.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:18 AM) He has a 94 mph fastball that rarely gets a swing and miss. His slider gets a few misses, but he also throws it from an angle that causes him to hang it far too often. Unless he develops another pitch, he's going to get crushed by lefties. I still think he can be tweaked. I've seen much worse in the sox pen.
  23. Tony Pena will be fine. He needs some work. Half this board wanted to run Thornton off the team in 2007. PS Steve I am pretty happy that Troy Tulowitzki also made you "angry" in the Sox keeper league (leading to his release) he has worked out quite well for me.
  24. Jeter positive for STDs?
