QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) ...check out Jeff Francouer's rookie stats and remember how people were so ga-ga over him too... .300/.336/.549/.885 70 GP, 272 AB, 14 HR, 20 2B, 1 3B, 45 RBI, 11BB it would seem like the lack of walks and reliance on homers made this predictable, but Francoeur was hitting .300 over 70 games with a ton of doubles...doesn't that sound familiar? His career line is currently a disappointing .266/.308/.424/.732 and the power numbers have been relatively down since 06 - just 82 career homers. So what happened to Jeff Francouer? Couldn't the same thing happen to Beckham? You should at least compare spray charts, Becks is hitting to all fields, making it a lot less likely this is all a fluke. I think that is the main reason we are excited.

I am no longer mad for sucking in 2007.

Game 1 ALDS vs Boston Bears Comeback vs the eagles @ Philly in 2007 Gilbert Arenas Buzzer beater vs Bulls in 2005, knocking the Bulls out the playoffs. bad ending, the game was still incredible Carl Everett and Robbie Alomar's debut vs the twins in 2003, resulting in a Walk Off HR by Thomas Sox Vs Cubs Game in 2005 where Patterson dove for the ball and missed late in the game, resulting in a Sox win Edit: Bears Packers 2008. Solider Field. Blocked FG, OT, Coldest Game Ever. Bears Win( to stay in the playoff hunt). -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 11:34 PM) Pods ... what a season. Who'd a thunk it when we acquired him and so many of us were pissed. Great great walkoff win. Jose ... is he gonna see the mound again? What was that?? I am proud to say I was not one of those. I know a few more around here who liked the move as well.

QUOTE (SockMe @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 10:28 PM) whenever Jim comes to bat I expect a HR or Strike out or a walk? Is this the best ammo you have on a guy with a .390 obp?

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 02:39 PM) Bulls vs Jazz, Game 6. The ending that tops all endings. you bulls***ting us? If not, damn. -
No "Drilling For Oil" or "Feeding the Bearded Clam" option for the ladies?

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) f*** that. f*** that right in its ass. was thinking something along these lines.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 06:10 PM) Well i guess Garza/Delmon but it's a different situation than what i'd like to see happen with Brink. Unless Delmon starts raising the OPS towards .800, I don't see how that is not a backwards move for the Twins. He is 23 though, so who knows.

have a good one guys!

QUOTE (tommy @ Aug 1, 2009 -> 07:48 PM) Nix is not an everyday player, and he is a 2B. I don't see any reason why he would not be able to make the transition to SS. I also feel Nix is a late bloomer and could be a really nice MLB player. I love Alexei, but I think we can get a King's Ransom for him.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 1, 2009 -> 07:44 PM) Do you really see Pods hitting .300 again? I don't. Can he hit .270-.280 and steal you 25 bases? Probably. I'll take that. My main concern is injury with Pods. That may behind him though. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if he stays at this pace.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 1, 2009 -> 07:10 PM) Figgins should be priority #1. Don't expect Pods to reproduce the same results he put up this year. That was quick. Someone always manages to take a s*** on Pods no matter how much he produces. I have to agree with Buehrlee>wood here.

Trade Alexei (if we get an awesome return) , Keep Nix, continue to play Gordon at 3b

QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 1, 2009 -> 05:58 PM) Deja vu all over again. I bash Nix's bat quite a bit, but he's having an excellent day at the plate today. He took over 30 pitches yesterday too. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 08:54 PM) Right now, if it was the playoffs and you had only two choices, I would want Gavin Floyd over Danks. But that's just me. I'm with you

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) Why did we trade for him in the 1st place? Because Ryan Sweeny was the most overrated prospect in the White Sox organization since Jeremy Reed, and Kenny Williams knew this.

Ozzie Guillen has a higher IQ than most White Sox fans.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 01:33 PM) Ozzie should be the only person to call out anything in public whatsoever, and he does it in very calculated ways regardless of what Joe Cowley and others think. Ozzie is VERY good about making himself the center of controversy while keeping his players away from the cameras when there is turmoil. Exactly. Ozzie has a ring. All his critics have 0 rings, they do have plenty of WINE though!
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 07:03 PM) Ozzie is the last guy to talk about airing s*** in public. He might not do it in the dugout, but he has said some stuff in post-game interviews. Talking about how Brandon McCarthy picked the wrong guy to be friends with is one example. I do believe that Alexei Ramirez is Hispanic, whereas AJ Pierzynski is Caucasian, though. I'm not saying. I'm just saying. I get your point. Everyone on soxtalk may side with AJ for that reason and always question Ozzie for that reason, too. I don't think that is the case though. Who knows.
