  1. QUOTE (GordoTheGreat @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 12:01 AM) Lately? Yes?
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) If you face him anywhere but USCF, you have a chance. Maybe if you were really Dick Allen instead of some dude.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) His worst: 1. Kip Wells, Sean Lowe, and Josh Fogg for Todd Ritchie 2. Ryan Sweeney, Gio Gonzalez and Fautino de los Santos for Nick Swisher Off the top of my head, these would be the only two you could classify as very bad. Every player you mentioned sucks ass.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 12:56 PM) Last I saw, the Cabbie is going to be lucky if he doesnt face charges, I dont see any payoffs in his future. He locked the doors of the cab which is unlawful imprisonment which deems any acts of self defense legal. Second he didnt even have a valid drives license which makes it unlawful for him to drive a cab or operate as a licensed cab operator, therefore his asking for a fare in the first place was illegal. If the Cabbie gets no money, then I know for sure Kane is innocent. I'll be a little suspicious if any payoffs took place.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 12:39 PM) What are you trying to say Steve? He must not be a Thug because he does not look like a Thug? What does a thug look like? Maybe a little darker?
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) Also the driver locked the guys in the cab, didnt have a valid drivers license and has an arrest record. But, keep on keepin on with calling Kane a thug and hoping he doesnt get re-signed folks. Who called Kane a Thug? I only said he is, if the story is accurate. Also, If the Cabbie is getting money, you better believe Kane put his hands on him. Too many blanks in this story.
  7. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) I'm far from a Kane fan, and most people that read this thread probably know that, but that is taking it a little too far. 1. He is a 20 year old kid. While not a reason to be a douche, we all have done stupid things at that age, while sober, let alone intoxicated. 2.The cab drivers lawyer came out today and said this has been blown out of proportion. You would expect to hear that out of the lawyer for Kane, but not the cab driver. It may not be as bad as we all think Is he a D-bag for even being in this situation? Ya, he is. However, if his act stays clean for a while(like I expect it to), it needs to be let go at some point. How can you not see right through that?
  8. Not sure if this has been discussed, but does anyone think Rios coming here can be part of a bigger deal? Maybe Kenny and JP are slipping other players through waivers? Another reliever would be nice. Maybe Kenny has all the leverage, and in order for us to take Rios , Toronto must take linebrink in return.
  9. I love all the whining about Ozzie. All I know is Ozzie helped bring a ring to my favorite team. Maybe all the whiners should become cub fans. Since I'm guessing Pineilla would be second guessed a lot less around here than Ozzie.
  10. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 9, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) I'm surprised though because I wouldn't expect it from Kane. caught me off guard too.
  11. If it were Derrick Rose, this thread would be 3 pages deeper and the word "thug" would have been tossed around more than several times. So if this story is accurate, Patrick Kane is a THUG.
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 12:43 PM) That won't happen because he'll be too busy hurting himself for long periods of time. What do you base that on? His sterling record of health? I would answer you, but you've been cherry-picking my posts since you joined this board, your presence here means nothing to me. I'll just put you on ignore from now on.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 12:56 AM) Makes you wonder if they know that Dye is likely not coming back next season? or Thome? (with dye to DH)
  14. I hope to be in a league where people don't ditch their team after a couple games. This has already happened in soxtalk basketball and baseball leagues I was a part of.
  15. QUOTE (Colorado Sox Fan @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 11:11 PM) I love Carlos, but we will never see him healthy again. In two years, he will be a fond memory of what might have been. And what do you base that on? CQ will be fine.
  16. What happened to this ?? QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) I can promise you I will refrain from starting threads in the future. After you compared Beckham to Francouer I thought you were done making ridiculous threads. 1. Have you been watching lately or just looking at the boxscores? CQ is hitting the ball pretty hard. He almost single handedly beat the Yankees a week ago, and even his outs have been tough outs. 2. People may have been tired of Paulie for KILLING us last year, because he KILLED us for the entire 2003 season. (maybe we make the playoffs if he decided to show up that season) CQ will hear it from sox fans if he hurt us for long periods of time that are similar to Konerko slumps. 3. The timing for your thread is comical, CQ is hitting .316 with a 1.093 OPS the last 7 days.
  17. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) Keep in mind: Mike Caruso hit .306 in his rookie year with 22 SB (far more than Gordon will swipe this year) and how'd that work out? Lets simmer down with the Beckman love people. I never liked caruso. I LOVE Beckham. I could not be impressed with a .721 OPS, sorry. The best "Slappy" ever would have been was a slightly better version of Chris Getz. That said, Beckham is playing slightly better than David Wright in his rookie year.
  18. Out of all the spots you could throw Figgins at, I don't see the what's so bad about having both. Assuming the price is right.
  19. QUOTE (rockren @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 12:03 AM) LOL I'm just sayin' is all! Jordan's time will come, his patience at the plate is going to get him to the show sooner rather than later, I expect a mid-season call up after some tuning in aaa. Kind of like Beckham.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 11:59 PM) Where do I say not bring him back? I say don't count on him. I do not want the Sox retooling this team and hinging their leadoff and CF'er on a guy who doesn't have the greatest track record. Have backup plans or have Pods as the back up plan. The Sox won a division last year without him based on awesome starting pitching, that's the future of the White Sox, and I think they would be better off trying to get a more consistent leadoff hitter in the fold I was not talking about you in particular. I am talking about people who never appreciated Pods from the start (aka the people who still don't understand the CLEE trade)
  21. QUOTE (rockren @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 11:55 PM) Jordan Danks may make Pods a FA. Let's replace a .300 MLB hitter with a .275 AA hitter. If it were up to the majority of the forum, we would have an outfield of Brian Anderson,Chris Young and Ryan Sweeney.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 11:40 PM) Bulls***. Having him in the fold to compete for the spot would be great in a one-year extension, and you couldn't beat him as a 4th OF. His approach is entirely new, and he's thriving. When healthy, he's always been good. ^^^^ I'm getting tired of all the f***ing Einsteins around here who get out their calculators and fancy statistics and bash pods. All I know is when he is healthy, we win. Stick to posting on message boards and let Kenny Williams run this ship. I am so thankful Kenny runs this ship instead of all the Pods,Floyd and Thome bashers.
