  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 4, 2005 -> 04:52 AM) Here's to seeing more ads on MLB.Tv with Tony Pena and the little girl talkin about Royals Baseball being about winning and fun. that poor little girl is going to grow up a bitter old lady who doesn't trust anyone.
  3. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 4, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) Needs a slump buster.... holy s***! I think that just ruined the rest of my day!
  4. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 3, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) I guess dropping fogg and picking up glavine to start tonight was a horrible idea too... s***
  5. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 3, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) Get ready for the double-team... what are you talking about ?
  6. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ May 3, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) I was offered Carlos Zambrano for Michael Young. I am stacked as SS with Reyes, O. Cabrera, Feliz, Figgins, & Young. So it looks like a good trade, but I hate having Cubs on my team. Should I see if I can get more for one of those guys? do it
  7. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 3, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) You may not give a f***, but if you really cared about the long term success of this team, you would too. If there is one GUARANTEE about the Sox, it is that their payroll is directly proportional to the attendance and that is NOT going to change. And yes, higher payroll DOES NOT always equate to success, but with Kenny as our GM, I would love to see our team with a 100M payroll some day. As hard as he works, he would end our ineptness if he had that kind of payroll, no doubt in my mind. Higher payrolls do give you a better chance to win. The Pirates and Brewers and Royals have never won anything in the recent memory because of that very reason. So again, if you really cared about the Sox, you would give a f*** about the attendance. Every extra ticket sold is the difference between whether we keep Frank here next year or not. Every extra ticket sold is the difference between whether we sign Garland long term or not. Every extra ticket sold is the difference between whether we re-sign Paulie long terms or get a big bat to replace him or not Every extra ticket sold is the difference between whether we go finding the next Jimenez or Royce Clayton or Uribe instead of ARod or not. So STFU if you have no clue. I agree . Everyone needs to stop getting offended about attendence threads. Its the f***ing truth! We need to support our 1st place team. 12,000 is f***ing pathetic. If you're going to make excuses about why you can't go, then don't get mad when Frank , paulie and garland are in different unis in the near future.
  8. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ May 3, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Not sure why but the guy decided to drop Chavez, Mulder, and Cabrera. what a moron

  13. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ May 3, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Eric Chavez was a big one in one of my leagues. Not sure why but the guy decided to drop Chavez, Mulder, and Cabrera. Mike Hampton is working out really well in one of my other leagues. I haven't had bad drops as much as bad timing. I decided to drop Jason Lane when he only had one homer, ended up hitting like 3 in the next 5 games. I also didn't move Floyd back into the lineup his first game back and he hit a 3 run homer, and I forgot to put Morneau back into the lineup on time, costing me another homer. I had colon in the line up during arods 10 rbi night, fine. I forgot to put him in the line up when he had 7 shut out innings for the win against min (to beat santana) :banghead

  16. someone just picked mussina off waivers in my league what great pick ups have you had ? I picked up andrew jones , oliver perez, and mike hampton any other note worthy pick ups you guys have had?
  17. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) Damn it, he was my 5th or 6th overall pick. I just released him and picked up Matt Herges. Hopefully, Fassero won't be getting any save opportunities. This really sucks. Now my bullpen is hurting big time with only Joe Nathan, Derrick Turnbow, and Matt Herges. Who else is furious about this Benitez injury? And who are you going to replace him with? I'm looking to trade Vernon Wells for Guillermo Mota. The team that I'm looking to trade with has Wagner, Hoffman, Mota, Kolb, Baez, and Affeldt. Hopefully, Vernon's 2003 season still has folks interested in him, because I can't wait to get rid of him. I feel for you. I drafted gagne with my 3rd or 4th pick (in a 12 team league) My bullpen now after a few pickups and trades is M. Rivera ( got him and adam eaton for c figgins and Mike hampton) Francisco Rodriguez (got him for carlos zambrano and kaz matsui) Dustin Hemanson Turnbow urbina Gagne (DL)

  20. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 3, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) No question about it. I think you just have an obsession with big black guys
  21. Gordon to be first rookie to win award The Bulls' Ben Gordon has won the NBA's Sixth Man Award today, according to various reports, making him the first rookie to win the award in its 22-year history. "It would be a big accomplishment," Gordon told The Chicago Tribune, speaking without knowledge of the results Monday. "To win a prestigious award like that would be a great way to start off my career." It's believed that Gordon beat out Boston's Ricky Davis despite Davis having a greater scoring average and field-goal percentage. Davis also has a better defensive reputation. "I don't want to make this an injustice thing, because Ben Gordon had a great year," Doc Rivers told the Boston Herald for Tuesday's editions. "I mean, it's close. But I do think Ricky deserved the award. I think Ben Gordon deserves it, as well, but I do think Ben Gordon's image had to help more than Ricky's. "But the bottom line offensively is that Ricky's numbers were better," Rivers told the Herald. "His field-goal percentage was higher [.462 to .411]. His scoring average was higher [16.0 to 15.1]. I mean, everything was higher. And then when you factor in that Ricky was not only our most important guy off the bench offensively, he was our most important guy defensively, that makes a strong case for Ricky. "But, listen, if he does it again he'll win it next year." Gordon will be the second Bulls player to win the award. Toni Kukoc won it after the 1995-96 season. While Charlotte's Emeka Okafor or Orlando's Dwight Howard is expected to win the Rookie of the Year award that will be handed out Wednesday, Gordon's teammates were happy to hear he'll take home some hardware. "He deserves to win both of them," Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich told the Tribune. "I'm definitely happy he won at least one of them. I don't know how many rookies can come into the league with that kind of impact. Nobody can say that he doesn't deserve it, because he does."
