2011-2012 NBA Season Thread

QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 12, 2012 -> 04:59 PM) Boozer misses the WIDE open Watson and instead calls a time out. Good awareness about calling the timeout quickly, but goddamn you'd think he'd have looked at Watson being all alone for an easy layup on the other side of the floor. Quite possibly the most worthless 20 points of all time as he continues his atrocious matador defense, dumb mistakes, and long spurts of complete disappearance. His lack of defense alone negates whatever positives he may bring... And that hair in a can s*** he sprays on his head is ridiculous -

QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 09:03 PM) My main gripe with Deng getting is it that he's playing worse than he was last year, but getting more credit somehow. He's been underrated for awhile though, so it's tough to get too worked up about him finally getting some respect. You're CLEARLY not watching him play this season...probably just lookin' at the numbers... Lin is so solid right now. dantoni sure is riding him like his job is on the line (my lame humor). -

C'mon now, PIP dunk on ewing was wayy f***in better... I still dislike how he throws the ball in rather than dunking almost as much as lebron's same, ugly form on all of his dunks... -

Those last couple fast breaks came off hamilton missing some EASY f***in baskets. Hes literally missing layups. And for being a supposed wiley veteran, he looks terrified and extra slow out there. Really missing Deng right now... -

I think the criticism of DROSE taking 3s is ridiculous... -
Also, looks like the nexus will be coming to sprint with actual lte and a slightly bigger processor. Can't wait. My evo should hold me over til then.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:18 PM) Best Buy won't even pricematch Fry's or Frys.com, at least the one near me in the NW burbs. I've bought one thing from them in the past 7 years, and that was a tv stand that was on clearance at the store and actually was a decent price. They had a ton of video games on clearance this past holiday. I bought a bunch of games and accessories from them. And they even gave me a gift card for a game I placed an order for that was out of stock when I ordered it. I also purchased my TouchPad there. I've got no complaints.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) I think it's confidence and a lack of playing time. It's incredibly hard to get in a rhythm when you see spotty minutes. And obviously confidence is huge in making shots. Thibs HAS been playing him and letting him get some confidence, particularly the last couple of games...pretty sure he played a bunch of relevant minutes ladst game. He's wayy more patient than I would be, and hopefully it's paying off, cuz I woulda benched his ass for lookin' so pathetic and worthless out there... -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 08:11 PM) DePaul just rushed the court for beating an unranked team. Good job Demons! To be fair, only maybe a couple dozen students maybe go the games...and a couple hundred actual fans. Let us enjoy an actual BE win, no matter how top-heavy or watered-down it may be. They come only once, hopefully more than twice this year. This program desperately needs a decent win, and then string of decent games, to build on... I'm a big critic of the oliver purnell hire...but may, just maybe...he can entice another elite recruit to join Billy Garrett Jr., who's gonna be a solid player, in 2013...and DePaul can finally experience a much-needed, kinda sorta turnaround from being a garbage program to actually decent and, dare I say, relevant... -

Random, but I continue to think golden state shoulda traded stephen curry for paul when they had the chance. He has the most fragile ankle ever. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 09:31 PM) What do you even call this one? Good win? Says a lot about their confidence and believing in themselves/each other. Kinda similar to the win over the lakers. Not pretty, nor ideal, but a better team just beat a pretty good team. And Rose is a beast. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 30, 2011 -> 12:18 PM) The stuff I have seen this year, Noah has given up a lot of offensive boards. Foul trouble as well. Maybe not in bball shape yet. He cannot hang on to the darn ball... -
So I get an error message that the xbox isn't reading the FIFA12 game. I tried all of the troubleshoot stuff on the website. I just got the system and game for my little brother for Christmas. All of the other games seem to work. This is my first experience with this system. Any suggestions? Not sure how common of a problem it is or if there's a fix. Thanks.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 09:29 AM) What a difference one pre-season game makes huh? Seriously trying to temper my enthusiasm after two fairly "meaningless" preseason games, but they just plain look solid and in sync. Sure, I'd rather the upgrade at SG was more significant, and I preferred a more significant move as opposed to the conservative one that was made, but if they can play together like a machine throughout the season, use their depth to their advantage, and have a guy really step up to help Rose, this can be a very special season. They just may have the TEAM to beat a less-cohesive trio of stars...
-
I think some people just base what they say a whole lot more on what they read as opposed to actually watching the games...

LMAO @ proclaiming yourself the voice of reason. Noone is calling him the missing piece of the championship puzzle. Most everyone is pretty underwhelmed. At best, people are just trying to be good fans and find the positives. Heck, most articles and so called experts are just as unimpressed and go as far as to say it's a bad fit. Personally, this feels like a Bulls management move. He wasn't even in my top 5 of possible moves/signings. I hope he can help Rose some in the short term, but the search must continue in the next year or 2 for a real number 2 guy if a championship is in the Bulls future, especially when considering the new bcs esque NBA trend...

If the nba owned the Bulls, would dwight have been on the team by now??
