I truly admire the commitment from some of you guys to keep us updated on your horrid teams ;p As for me, I know my Blue Demons will be fairly atrocious but will be watching to see how Coach Purnell does in his first year, how the more uptempo, pressing game will look, and how the 1st year players look. Purnell has at least generated a spark in recruit interest, but he has to close the deal on some big-time recruits just to get us on the path of relevancy again. I had always maintained that a huge key in DePaul becoming relevant again in the near future was getting some of the good 2011 Chicago area talent to stay home. I'm a lot less happy with the program for their keeping wainwright around way past when they should have as the hire was bad enough. Now we're striking out with everyone, possibly to little, too late, and I will say that I had hoped for a class like illinois. I'll still hold out hope that we can get Shaw I guess... Your thoughts on Gregg Doyel saying that weber was behind the whole Anthony Davis thing?

Kinda weird that it's this recruit and now that this is coming up. The rumors have been RAMPANT for tons of recruits throughout the year, so many for kentucky recruits alone, and in multiple sports. They should ALL be investigated, but thoroughly and properly. Also, it would be sweet if this whole debacle sways him towards staying home and coming to DePaul. From what I gather, Purnell is a pretty clean coach. This is turning Davis' meteoric rise from an amazing story, anonymity in a small city school in Chicago, a hoops mecca, into a top 5 player in the nation, into something ridiculous.
