I went to see Wayne Blackshear tonight at Chicago state. He's a special player. Like a man among boys, and makes it look easy. Put up 42, 18 boards, 5 blocks. Not much else to say about him that hasn't already, and I believe the hype that he's the best player in the state. Boatright impressed me too. Speedy, great handles, quick moves (crossover, spin), plays hard.

They've been getting blown out almost nightly so I can't say I was too surprised...

I'm on Sprint and have a Palm Pre. What I like about Sprint is that it was ridiculously easy to get a company discount for a company that I don't work for. Also, Best Buy price matches so I was able to print up a $99 walmart.com price and didn't have to deal with any rebates. Another nice thing is that they have that free mobile to mobile to any other network thing now, but I rarely talk on the phone before 7 anyways so I've never come within 200 minutes of going over my minutes...

Basketball is wayy bigger in Chicago. No comparison. The end.

Fantasy basketball?

I was impressed that the new assistant coaches were able to get Mike Shaw, Wayne Blackshear, and Jabari Parker at our "Blue Madness" after such an atrocious season. No recruits came last year, so it's nice to see a little bit of buzz for the program...

Although I dunno if they really will be a package deal, I definitely can't see Shaw or Blackshear staying local... And I'm definitely jealous of the players illinois is getting. Can't wait for hoops season. I'll be out to see Shaw and one of the '13 studs, Alex Foster, at De La Salle at least a couple of times. Although he transferred, I really like Dre Henley's game...
