If there's ever been a more ludicrous "stat" than this one, I haven't seen it.
-
You gotta admit, it's more profitable than a lemonade stand.
-
I believe that was Crede's first hit since April 2nd.
-
Well, I guess Ill shut up now

Here comes a pop-out

Lucky You. I'm not.

Now THAT is what I'm talking about. 29year-oldguycreepingoutover17yearoldgirl.......yes!

Ugh, they look like aliens. And nobody that goody-goody has any sexy qualities whatsoever.
-
You mean, that guy with the lowest OPS of any regular player in the AL? He's not good.
-
Yah, when you look at how each year from 99-02 were almost identical for PK in virtually every stat, it makes sense that last year was just a bad year, and that 99-02 numbers are what to expect from him.

**cough cough** Scott Ruffcorn **cough cough** Aaron Myette **cough cough** Kevin Beirne **cough cough** Josh Fogg Point being, minor league arms are ALWAYS a crapshoot, and I haven't seen anybody with the crystal ball that allows them to get it right every time. You get a chance to get proven MLB players by giving up minor league all-stars, you make that move every time. This Ginter character has had 4 outings, not conclusive evidence of anything. Using it as basis for criticizing Sox management is verrrrrry knee-jerk-y. The Sox bullpen has been overall very good, where could the Sox have used him? Fifth starter? Not so fast, see Neal Cotts. Timo Perez(he is the guy we got for Ginter, yes?) has had a few big hits thus far. Got a decent lefty bench guy with playoff experience for a minor league, right-handed middle reliever. Sounds like a decent move, IMHO.

Al Leiter has a very extensive no-trade clause, I dont think he's going anywhere.
-
Yes! one step closer to an ALL-ASIAN pitching staff. This is the key to getting to the World Series.

Heeeeeeee's Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaackkk?

Bill Simmons figured this out. It's called the "Ewing Theory."

Anyone hear Mac Jurko and Harry yesterday

M,J & H = Best sports radio show in Chicago. Mike & Mike? Dull as cardboard, they never say ANYTHING that isn't the consensus opinion Murph and whatshisname? Like fingernails on a chalkboard Dan Patrick? Good, when he bothers to show up Boers/Bernstein or whoever is next? Second best show. Rome? Never talks about anything I care about. Cant stand his cadence either. North? I know more about Chicago sports than he does, and I'm not even being arrogant. Buffone? Buffoon, useless except during football season. Who'd I miss? 7am--6pm weekday shows only. -

Yah, I heard that. I think last place is a little extreme, but what were 5th starters on the Sox last year, 3-16? Gotta do better than that. -
Illinois Man Arrested In N.J. With Explosive Devic

North Riverside? That's my neck of the woods. Get me his address, I'll go put flaming bags of dog poop on his front porch. -
I know one stupid inning won't make much of a difference, but the Sox starters are all among the league leaders in innings/pitches thrown this year. After seeing Loaiza tire a bit near the end of last season, and Alewife not having thrown 200 innings in a few years, I was hoping to see Loaiza removed after 6 or 7 innings. Wouldn't want next year's pitching staff to suffer the same fate a certain NL team is experiencing this season..........

I think that was just last year. One of those kids lived a few blocks from me.

I disagree. Randa's career AVG. is about .285, and he doesn't strike out much. His defense is only slightly worse than Crede's, if at all. He has less power than Crede, but on this team, I would gladly take the higher average and low strikeout rate.
-
Yah, the more I think about it, I much rather would go with my altered trade version of Randa and a prospect for Crede. The more I read about Berroa, the less impressed I was with him. Though I still don't think hitting .287 in 40 games at AAA means Borchard has turned the corner en route to an above-average MLB career. I am just not at all a Crede fan. I don't think he'll ever hit much, and he's not Brooks Robinson over there. I like the Zambrano idea, but I'm not sure if Tampa wants to trade their best young pitcher. They need as much pitching as they can get their hands on.

Here's why: Because, regardless of how much technical talent they possess, if you don't like the product of that talent, you're never going to sit through it long enough to appreciate the skill level, nor will you care. I think of it this way--Charlie Trotter, Emeril, Wolfgang Puck and Rick Bayless could put their heads together for years and try and come up with the best way to cook broccoli, but no matter how good of chefs they are, I won't like whatever they come up with, because I can't stand broccoli.

I don't see how, but, whatever.
