Well, so what? It's not like Britney is up for a Nobel prize or anything. Why should one not accept her because she is "externally hot?" We're talking about an entertainer here, not Mother Teresa. Nobody on this board, nor anyone who attends her concerts, buys her albums, et al. has really any insight as to her "inner beauty" and I don't think anybody cares. Her appeal to males is strictly sex appeal, and, since the dawn of time, men have found looking at sexy women to be very entertaining. Does she have any talent as a musician/songwriter? Doubtful, so what good would it do her to try to be something she's not? She apparently has some dancing ability, and she's hot. She doesn't seem like she'll be joining Mensa anytime soon, so what would you have her do? Sit at home at a desk job for fear that she would only be "respected" for her looks? Looking good and being sexy is really all she's "good at," and doesn't every career "guru" tell us to find a job doing something we like to do, and that we are good at? And as for guys "accepting" her solely on the basis of looks? Well, welcome to reality, it happens. Have you lost a boyfriend or husband to Britney lately? So why do you care why people accept her? Maybe you lost a guy because he dumped you for some plastic piece of ass? Well, then did you really want to be with him after all? Men's weak point will always be looks, and women's will always be money/power. Hot chicks always get more guys competing for their affections, and rich guys will always get first pick of the ladies. However, over the long haul, does either really affect your life at all?

drivers that don't use turn signals fat people that blame their condition on anything BUT the fact that they eat like s*** and don't exercise regularly. religious fundamentalists Dr. Phil the prevalent "victim complex" in today's society. Stand up and take some responsiblity for your actions, f***head. I could go on for days, so I think i'll just stop now.

Here's something to ponder as you break from the Hot Chick Contest

OK, I did it. I have no idea why those rows get assigned the numerical values that they do, but thanks anyways, bj!

WWW.SOXTALK.COM..... It goes down more frequently than a Roosevelt Road hooker.

I agree, giving him 3 more years is moronic. I never heard that about Schilling and JR. It doesn't seem like their paths would have ever crossed, unless this goes back to the strike in 1994. I'm guessing that must have something to do with it.

Artists' Rights and Theft Prevention Act

Come on now, the shoes can be cleaned, and I salvaged a keyboard after spilling hot chocolate on it before. The Enter key always stuck a little bit after that... Here's something to make you feel better: -
Did people already bring him up as a possibility? He's signed just through this season, at $12 million, but half of it is deferred. Arizona "will not sign him after this year", so he's available as trade bait. Why isn't this a good idea? He'll essentially cost $6 million this season, I'm not sure how deferred salaries work, i.e., could he be paid the rest over 10 years?

Very true, but that doesn't mean they should be able to vote, what do women know about politics? -

Let's argue about the merits of this guy:

OK, here goes a test run

Even though I agree that there's no real reason for JR NOT upping the payroll, I don't agree that you should spend foolsihly just to get there. Maggs is not a $14 mil-a year player. If someone out there is willing to give him that much, then let him go, and remind yourselves of how good the Rangers have been after siging A-Rod, how many titles the Dodgers have won since signing K. Brown, and how Albert Belle has cemented his bust in Cooperstown after moving to Baltimore.

I had this idea 2 months ago, I swear to god. A friend emailed me that same article this morning, and said they stole my concept.

If the Sox are MLB champs in 2004, you will be the proud owner of a 1983 Renault Le Car.

I'm guessig your referring to Willie harris when you said gys who cant hit a curveball--WILLIE, CEDENO, OLIVO, VALENTIN Cedeno i guess would be the free swinger right? --WILLIE, CEDENO, SORIANO, OLIVO, VALENTIN, CREDE(HE DESERVES SOME SLACK, ADMITTEDLY) i would be happy with him in the 2 hole.http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5428--HIS NUMBERS AREN'T THAT IMPRESSIVE, AND BETWEEN 99-01, HE REALLY ONLY PLAYED 1 GOOD, FULL SEASON. As far as Soriano please he has been one hell of a player since he has come into the league and will only put up better numbers in the 3 hole --TRUE, BUT THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF SPECULATION THAT SORIANO'S POOR 2ND HALF LAST YEAR WAS DUE TO THE LEAGUE CATCHING UP TO HIS FREE-SWINGIN' WAYS. Iwould like to see the top of the order being able to run at will and these three guys can definetly run--YOU HAVE TO GET ON BASE THOUGH FIRST... I think I would be game for this lineup so we can get our pitching staff taken care of.--WELL, OBVIOUSLY WE DISAGREE HERE. BUT, IF THE SOX DO THIS, AND WIN A W.S. WITH IT, I'LL BUY YOU A CAR!
-
Well, the Twins are f***ed. No way(especially Milton) are those guys worth that much. Good to see we're not the only team over-paying our mediocre players.
-
Garland is frustrating. I could see him winning game 7 of a W.S. on 3 days rest...or I could see him getting knocked out in the first inning at home vs. Detroit. I like Pavano, hopefully he'll stay away from those arm problems he'd been having.
-
Yeahhhhh, I'm going to have to go and, DISAGREE with you there... Potential Lineup Willie Harris cf Roger Cedeno rf Alfonso Soriano 2b--3 GUYS AT THE TOP OF YOUR LINEUP THAT WON'T TAKE A WALK? WITH FRANK "I LIKE WALKS" BEHIND THEM, FRANK MIGHT WALK 300 TIMES, AND END THE YEAR WITH 25 RBI'S--ALL SOLO HR'S Frank Thomas dh/1b Carlos Lee lf/dh Joe Crede 3b Rowand/Reed/Borchard lf/dh Jose Valentine ss Miguel Olivo/Sandy Alomar c NOT ALOT OF PRODUCTION HERE, AND YOU HAVE 6 REGULARS THAT EXHIBIT POOR PITCH SELECTION, AND AT LEAST 4 THAT CANNOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, HIT A CURVEBALL.
