  1. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 02:13 AM) http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,174993,00.html The backlash continues. Brand new, from the state that brought you the "No Sexy Cheerleading" mandate!
  2. In a related story, Hostess unveiled plans today for its first ever Twinkies restaurant, scheduled to open in Denver, CO sometime in late 2006......
  3. OK, seriously, why the hell is dimming the lights part of this process?
  4. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) Juggernaut is my hero.... You could do so much better.......
  5. The reason I labeled it hypocritical was because you railed against a gross misrepresentation of christianity, then went and threw out a gross misrepresentation of your own about atheism. No atheist I know is any more money-hungry or hell bent on controlling the world than any one else out there. I agree with you, to a point. I think rational muslims DO apologize for the extremist's actions, but what tv show, magazine or newspaper is ever talking to any of these people? Who gets more airtime, a peaceful muslim leader or James Dobson? Word to your mother on that!
  6. QUOTE(JHBowden @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) sox4lifeinPA-- I'm flattered you believe that I control the major television networks, but as an atheist, I have nothing but contempt for MTV and its feeble-minded viewers. The infotainment that passes for "news" these days is in the same boat. LOL. And isn't ClearChannel owned by one of Bush's bestest christian buddies? Because all the entertainment they push is supremely pure and wholesome. I have yet to find the phrase "do as I say, not as I do" in the bible, could someone tell me where I would find it?
  7. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Your distorted representation of Christians make all us suffer. And your distorted representation of atheists -- "Me thinks the idea that atheism, which claims there are no Gods except money and power"-- is typical christian hypocrisy.
  8. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) That’s neat. I recall you posting about that recently. Can’t you increase the r value of your walls with some kind of blown-in insulation? It can, but installing that blown-in stuff is a pain in the ass in plaster walls. The fire stops/conduit/other obstacles make it difficult. Eventually, I will tear down the outside walls, insulate them, then put up drywall.
  9. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) No serious response to this, either? "What has anyone here done besides complain about gasoline prices? What concrete steps have you taken?" I am in the process of installing a solar-powered radiant heat system to offset the increasing cost of natural gas. Unfortunately, because I live in a 110 year old frame house with little insulation, the best it will do is reduce my gas bill by only 30%. After I get that done I will convert my electricity to solar as well. Com Ed will actually buy any electricity I generate that I don't use.
  10. Well, we still have Charles Nelson Reilly, right?
  11. QUOTE(jloveswhitesox35 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) If they arrive tonight I will not be coming to scholl for the next 2 days. Um, I'm thinking you might need all the scholl you can get.........
  12. QUOTE(redsoxjamie @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) Last year, we got ours. This year, you get yours. I like the Astros. Their fans have been through a lot of pain, they have a lot of good players for whom this may be their only chance to win a world series. But it has been too long since the South Side of Chicago has seen a world series championship. I'm pulling for you. Best of luck. This is YOUR time. Enjoy it, White Sox fans. Hi there, Thanks for the warm sentiments. Maybe you can answer a question for me. Assuming you're a member of the SoSH website, can you tell me why after I registered on that site a month or so ago, they would never let me post anything? I could read everything, but couldn't add any posts anywhere. It pisses me off, cause I still can't post there, and the admins won't return any of my questions. Wha' happened?
  13. Hi8is, I might also suggest the hotel "plaza" just south of Midway Airport, at 66th and Cicero. You'll be very close to the Orange Line, and you could take that and get to the Cell via a transfer to the Red Line at Roosevelt
  14. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:11 PM) But how do they know you're calling for WS tix and not for some other event? Are ALL TicketMaster phone requests at that time going too be routed to a central location? If so, that seems really clunky. The system asks you what event you want to buy tickets for. Once you select World Series in Chicago, you get routed to the national call center
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) OK here are some alternative phone numbers. I don't know what locations will be selling White Sox tickets, but here are the Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconson phone numbers to the individual ticketmaster outlets Indiana Customer Service Anderson/Muncie 765-644-3131 Bloomington 812-333-9955 Evansville 812-423-7222 Ft. Wayne 260-424-1811 Indianapolis 317-239-5151 Lafayette 765-743-5151 South Bend 219-272-7979 Terre Haute 812-234-2424 Illinois Chicago 312-559-1212 Springfield 217-544-9400 Peoria 309-676-8700 Normal 309-454-5500 Champaign 217-351-2626 Danville 217-442-3434 Wisconson Appleton 920-731-5000 Green Bay 920-494-1414 Madison 608-255-4646 Milwaukee 414-276-4545 They say that no matter what local number you call, for WS tickets you will be routed into a national call center. So, I'm not sure it matters which location you call into.
  16. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) I see you are back to asserting your opinion as fact again :rolly As Steff(or is it someone else) might say: pot.kettle.black Just shut up. Seriously.
  17. I can't figure out where else to put this, but I have to get it off my chest: Lost in all the commotion about "the call" was the fact that the bottom of the ninth should have never been played. Sending Rowand home in the 2nd inning is one of the worst calls by a base coach I have ever seen. There is not ONE logical reason for sending a runner home in that situation, not one. This isn't the first time Cora's blew it, either. I really hope he gets replaced next season -- I'm tired of his bonehead decisions. And no, his aggresiveness has not done more good than bad. In situations where the choice to send is risky, far more runners have failed than scored this season. In summary, I hate Joey Cora. Thank You.
  18. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) Didn't this happen before and Juggs got mad at everyone for having a short attention span. What a guy. He'll come back and claim the thread was an experiment to test our attention spans, then claim his theory(whatever it is) was proven correct.
  19. No Colon didn't bother them much yesterday........
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) Whats that Sound? Its the Sound of juggernaut repeatedly trying to get into long drawn out fights over opinions of the way things go. It sounds kind of like this Don't forget the use of opinions mislabeled as "facts."
  21. QUOTE(chisox28 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) My bad if this is the wrong place to post but I got four extra tickets for game 2 (section 555, row 17, seats 10-13), anyone want to trade? I have game 7's, interested in those?
  22. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) Speaking of paying respects, anyone going to meet the team? WGN said that they were expected tomorrow at Midway (the area on 63rf - Atlantic or something like was the name of the airline charter) between 12:30 and 1. I am thinking about parking by my parents and taking a walk up there. Anyone know the accuract of the report? That is correct, the Sox come in to the Atlantic private charter terminal, the entrance located next to the firehouse. It's gated however, and you likely couldn't get very close at all(my brother worked at Atlantic until about a month ago).
  23. QUOTE(Clarkdog @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) Hey Steff - Work in Oakbook Terrace. We're headed to Sal's Pizza and Sports Pub in Lombard at the corner of 22nd and Finley. Champps was kind of a zoo last time I was there, so I'm pursuing an alternative. Enjoy the game! Go Go Sox! MMMM......Double Dragon
