  1. I do believe it was Mark who lost the game for us today, not the pen.
  2. Ive never seen a pitcher give up 3 runs with the most perfect pitches. He saws them off, jams them, and they get a double. Unreal.
  3. f*** Jeff nelson and his rolling slider. Hes done.
  4. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving Montero a chance. I totally agree they need someone who can throw 2 innings vs. just 1-2 batters. Personally I don't think Nelson is in game shape yet. If Montero can come in and fill the Vizcaino role, fantastic. He's thrown the ball extremely well in Charlotte and has good velocity. Anything is better than cliff at this point. Seriously.
  5. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) He went 0-5 yesterday, so his BA dropped from .291 to .281. But he has a 6 game SB streak going. I think that he'll be at or around .270 by the time we hit the ASB. Thus far, 22 SB to 27 strikeouts in damn near 150 ABs. Don't act like you're not impressed. 270 is the magic number for my sig bet. I am impressed by his SB's. And his defense. I always thought he was pretty good, but he looks damn good this year.
  6. QUOTE(beautox @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 01:33 PM) ::Patterson Update:: He reached first on a bunt attempt error, and then preceded to steal second thats now 22SB/1CS, hes batting .281 is his BA dropping?
  7. During the PBA league game on ESPN 8 the ocho, they said that we may get Tori Hunter for Ross Gload.
  8. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) Same here. And when we finally get BMac his spot in the rotation, I'd rather have Garland stick around over Freddy. I just feel that we have every reason to believe Freddy's peaking or about to peak, especially with his new slower velocity. I do feel Garland is good enough to be no worse than an above-average/solid 4-5 for us, and I have no problem with that. You know thats how I feel as well. He will have shades of a top of the rotation guy however. Last night his change wasnt working, and he still looked pretty damn good. Had those guys jamming themselves all night.
  9. He basically made one bad mistake to Wilkerson. He looked great last night, and is improving every start.
  10. WHy the CF talk again today? I dont think that was the issue at all in this series.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) Get out of it with a 5-3 lead, but that s*** cant go on all game... Frankly, I see the tribe just swinging as hard as they can, hoping to shank a pitch into the shallow part of the OF.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) Go get my gyro, b****. Damn diet wont let me have them anymore. Bastards.
  13. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) We just want to see you in a shirt tearing contest. Come on, live up to the moniker of "doable"... YOU CAN DOOO IT! I had jury duty........ Just in case you wanted someone to judge.
  14. wow. I dont know where he would play, but thats interesting.
  15. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Thank YOU Milkman! Geez! I make one negative comment and people are spraining their knees, jerking them. What is this, WSI? I get your point dude. Its just, maybe our offense is just better this year, and has won us several games that we may not have won last year. Especially with our pitching struggling a bit early in this season. If you took this rotation and paired it with those lineups Frank, Maggs, Lee, Konerko, im sure we would have been a better team. I have the utmost confidence that this team will be more consistently good than last years team.
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) Go with it Rock.. go with it... Im scared.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 04:14 PM) ^ I hate to admit it.. but when I went into Jewel the other day I saw no bags with Sox on them and I complained.. The sox peanuts taste much better. Can we have a sep Cubsession section of the board so Henry and Cuck can post there. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 04:19 PM) Oh bulls***. If the media had that much control over attendance there would be NO ONE at Comiskey. And last time I checked... I write the check for my season tickets without help from a media outlet. Sox fans who aren't obsessed with the Cubs go for the product not the atmosphere. I get the feeling Henry has never written that check.
  18. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) Its "stating facts" about media coverage of the Chicago White Sox. You dont think coverage has anything to do with a team? Explain why 39,000 continue to fill that stadium up north, when theyve only had THREE 90win seasons? Cant be because theyre good. They stink. Its because their owners (and they control the rest of the media here because of how big they are) make sure to tell everyone how Great that park is, and how dangerous our park is. Simple as that. Well that and they have the dumbest fans in baseball. The Pittsburgh Pirates have probably one of the most "beautiful" parks in Baseball. What was todays attendance on a 85 degree day at PNC Park? 12,899. They have a more beautiful park, and are even WORSE than the northside team. Have you even been to wrigleyville. I couldnt think of a better area to have a sports stadium. DOnt compare pit to chicago either. Wrigley field is in one of the best sports neighborhoods around. They have so many sports bars, restaurants, public trans etc, thats why it draws fans. You sound just like the guys who protested the cubs last sat to no avail. The media doesnt bring the fans, and it doesnt keep fans from our stadium. Wrigleyville brings fans, and rightfully so, if the sox played there, it would be heaven.
  19. QUOTE(zach61 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) Better get on Trader Joe's now too. They got the cub logo on their bags instead of the Sox. Maybe the cubs just do a better job of getting their crap out there? Or is the media the reason for the cubs logo being on the Trader Joe's shopping bags? SO does Old Style Beer. I would like some comparison's on that. And Jewel and Dominicks sell cubs and white sox bags of nuts, I wonder if the ratio of cubs to sox bags in the display is sqewed based on the attendance the previous week.
  20. Please god, let the sox win tonight, this board sucks right now. Thanks -Rock

    Laptops

SSI, I know what you are talking about. I have a Lat D600 with the cent processor. It works fine for me. My Mac laptop is still a rock however. Its a G3 from around 2001, still works like a charm.
  22. QUOTE(Thunderin @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) Like I said, hes not a bad outfielder.....there were clips of him when he played CF with the Brewers with him making good reads and great catches on MLB.com, but ever since he got traded they deleted those clips. Scouting Report: Baserunning & Defense Speed is Podsednik's game-he's among the fastest guys in baseball. He's a reliable, and sometimes spectacular, center fielder, covering the considerable gap between Jenkins in left and the team's 2004 right-field combo of Brady Clark and Ben Grieve. Podsednik also throws well. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/playerScouting?categoryId=85346 I believe these scouts are much better than any of us. Oh Jesus. Come on man, the fact that the last sentence says he throws well should pretty much have discouraged you from posting that crap as gospel.
  23. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) all Im saying is... if someone does not like a thread topic.. move on. That's all. We are all sox fans. We have different views of the team, how the team gets treated by the media ect. Nothing wrong with a good debate, but a debate is not when it is 10-1 with 5 people debating and the other 5 posting agreements our cheap comments. It's entertaining for a while, I'm sure we are on the same page. But after a while, you kinda feel bad for the soxtalk minorities What does this thread have to do with debate at all? Its whining about media coverage, has nothing to do with the team, or the workings of the team. Its about someone complaining about something.
  24. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) That right now we really remind me of the 2004 Sox? In other words: feast or famine. We either crush them or we get shut out. Of course I'm generalizing and no, I am not throwing in the towel or claiming the sky is falling, but this Cleveland series is bringing back some unpleasant memories of '04 and how we could alternate between awesome and flat-out crappy. Hey I know the season's young and I'm hardly going code blue on this, but just thought I'd see if anybody else felt the same way. (Although one difference is that we actually swept the Angels IN Anaheim and Oakland here, so some things have changed). But man I miss the one-run wins with low scores when our pitching and defense was killing everybody and not really our bats... Considering how last nights game was the first time we got shut out, I would say your opinion of us getting shut out all the time is pretty ridiculous.
